Bad night. Waited 20 minutes to find out that the fryer was broken and our order (fish and chips, crab cake sandwich, fries etc) couldnt be made. This is 100% forgivable, stuff happens. However, the alternatives we were given to our fish and chip orders ended up being more expensive, (we did not know this as our menus had already been taken). So we waited another half our for our new orders (which could only come with salads since fries were not an option). In the end we had a $75.00 tab for two crab sandwiches on store bought texas toast, a so-so burger, and a grilled cheese sandwich, all with mediocre side salads. We were there for two hours at least. In my mind a discount would be a good starting point but it wasnt even hinted at. The food was snack bar at best. Total ripoff. How a restaurant responds to error is what defines customer service, and keeps customers. You can be as nice as you want (which they were), but if you dont make it right its pointless. Thats just bad business.

We just left the Sunset grill. Girl friend got the blackened tuna. It tasted good, but for $18 it should have been twice the size. It was about 1 1/2" x3" and about an inch thick. I had the fish and chips. It only took about 45 minutes to get my dinner. Apparently the cook had to clean the fryer first and put in fresh oil. I hope they did. We asked for extra napkins, you only get one, which we didnt get. The restaurant only had about 12 tables and everything looks well worn. You can easily do much better if youre looking for a seafood restaurant. The wait staff kept trying to give us other peoples drinks. There were some drunk people there being loud and acting foolish. Our first time there was a disappointment. We dont need to go back there again.

Contrary to popular belief this restaurant does have a Happy Hour. Ive been told that the food is pricey but Id suggest looking at online menus of the other area restaurants and youd be amazed how fair the prices are plus quality food is always worth a few more pennies. Cant beat the sushi grade tuna bites, delicious fish tacos or kick ass coconut shrimp. The flounder is also a good choice. Theres a good selection of craft beers and live acoustic music from many above average local artist. A big plus is it is one of the cleanest restaurants in town. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. Clean, romantic and fun people...

What a great find! Food was exceptionally good as was the service. Cathy De Martin has done an outstanding job of putting together a wonderful menu and great atmosphere. We had fried clams for an appetizer that were the best Ive ever had. The crab cakes and fish and chips were both top shelf as well. And if we can say anything about our experience at the Sunset Grill, it would have to be that it just may be Ocean Views best kept secret. Outstanding food and service from our waitress, Kim. Dont miss this place if youre within driving distance. Prices were very reasonable for both portion sizes and quality.

I quit going there #1 there were tiny fish from the fish tank in the snack bowls they put out they said it was cuisine when I questioned it #2 I ordered. A cup of coffee that tasted like pure fish water while I waited for a to go sandwich. for my daughter. I. was going to eat half on the deck and I picked up my sandwich...ugh. my friend n I looked down to find a bloody band aid stuck to my sandwich. That place is a disgusting place. in a great location. Pay attention to your food n drink. Ps..a skinny shirt haired girl with right brown hair sure did a lit if gossiping.Who needs it

Find this little gem of a restaurant and watch the sunset over the Hampton Roads waters. Cf: The water area known as Hampton Roads is one of the worlds largest natural harbors (more accurately a roadstead or "roads"), and incorporates the mouths of the Elizabeth River and James River with several smaller rivers and itself empties into the Chesapeake Bay near its mouth leading to the Atlantic Ocean. We enjoyed an appetizer of smoked oysters and brie with perfect drinks.

Little intimate setting located right on the water... Service is great and always welcomes you with a smile. We LOVE the food here. The Fish Tacos are AMAZING. If they have the Trio Taco Special - ORDER IT! Blackened fresh flounder, scallops, and shrimp. Its crazy good. Bacon Wrapped Scallops are to die for. Its a little pricey or we would frequent more often.

A locally owned restaurant with the best seafood for miles, and a nice selection of other food for people who dont like seafood. I experienced wonderful service, and it is so much fun in the evening, good people and great music almost every night. I used to just go during lunch but I started going at night too. The desserts are awesome!

The grand finale of our sisters weekend was two orders of the "steam pot" ( crab legs, oysters, clams, and shrimp)...fresh, steamed to perfection, and served with melted butter and lemon❣️Kathy, the lovely owner, made us feel welcomed and the guitar pickers on the deck made us feel right at home..thanks for an evening to remember !

Cons: Way overpriced. Small portions. Bland taste. Server cleared plates before we were even finished. Sat with empty glasses for 10 min trying to get his attention. Very small and cramped inside. Pros: Friendly staff. Great live music. Excellent view, especially during sunset.

Great views of the harbor and excellent seafood. Nice, cozy place with live music and fairly private. Food is fresh and delicious made in a small kitchen. Has a New England kind of atmosphere and is a great place to go when you just want a quiet meal and a few drinks.

Our food was very bland and seemed like it was frozen before it hit the fryer. The live music wasnt bad, but the inside of the restaurant is extremely small so it was hard to hold a conversation over the music in such a small area.

Owner very friendly to guest, but can be heard yelling at staff. She seemed phony. Food was good, but way over priced. Good location and view if eating outside...nice live music...drinks extremely strong so have a designated driver.

Best fresh seafood I had since arriving in Virginia. Quaint family friendly restaurant. Definitely going back when they have live entertainment. The owner was the nicest person. Loved it
