My five star rating is specifically for John!!! The reason being: When we were first seated at the beginning of this evening, our server awkwardly poked her head out of a conversation with another table to tell us "Ill be right with you guys" and then didnt show up for a solid 7 minutes or so. Didnt introduce herself or take our drink order when she was done with her conversation..... nothing! We got up to leave and head to the OG in greenbrier because we figured we might have better luck there getting service, and on the way out the manager said to give them a second shot. We agreed, and she sat us in a different section with John! He was funny, down to earth, professional, and was a great salesperson which my husband and I can appreciate greatly. He was ON IT from beginning to end... started us off with a wine tasting, made us feel unashamed of wanting to have a mountain of cheese on our meals (you know you always want more cheese than you feel comfortable admitting), and he took the time to explain the new specials. Every time he came to our table, he added personal touches to our experience with stories and jokes, and he wasnt overbearing, just really refreshingly pleasant! (Hes got his upselling down by the way, if youre listening management.) We were thoroughly satisfied with the meal and with the service, and owe it to John for saving the night. So if you decided to eat here... Ask to sit in Johns section! (He works evenings.) You will not be disappointed!

Called an order in. Upon arrival 30 minutes after ordering (thats how long they said it would take) I was informed they were out of the soup we had ordered and I would have to substitute it for another. (They could have called and told me ahead of time). I had made a couple request for extra croutons and bread sticks. We received one bag of croutons for 2 salads, not extra but less. Two sets of utensils for 3 meals, the standard amount of bread sticks not extra as requested. I called and asked to speak to a manager. After being on hold for 5 minutes I was disconnected. Called back and held another 5 minutes before being asked to call back again because the managers were in a meeting. So I left my name and number for them to contact me. Still have not heard from them (its been 40 minutes). I doubt this is how Olive Garden Corp. would want customers treated.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The food is a good value. I know this is an Olive Garden and weve all eaten at one. I like this one better. I thought the staff seemed more permanent and invested in giving a good dining experience. I also like that they have a large cool dining room. I feel more like eating when not bothered by the 100 degree heat outside. I notice someone felt the portions were small - often they can give you more of what you like without an extra charge. And who else serves soup w/ pizza and breadsticks? I was able to take all the pizza home but one slice because just one bowl of soup & 1 1/2 breadsticks are kind of filling. I had a male waiter. Cant remember his name. He was an exceptionally good waiter, better than the female waitress I had there the time before.

Marsala Chicken was good, but not excellent. The spaghetti with traditional meat sauce plus sausage was very good, but the food temperature needed to be hotter. The sweet tea was arguably the best I have ever had and I am definitely the areas aficionado on this southern beverage. For once the tea was strong enough to actually pass for tea as opposed to tea-colored water. The sweetness was true to what native southerners have deemed to be "the genuine." Although a tad too sweet for many like me that was offset by the perfectly blend ed slightly bold tea. Wow. That was a mouthful. Most of the time I use lemon to cut into tea thats too sweet. That was not necessary today. Olive Garden at Janaf/VB Blvd, Norfolk, you have the worlds best tea mixer. I would also rate our server as very good.

i have not been to the olive garden in years- it was better years ago. the server was fine - polite and accomodating. the food is pretty marginal: pre-dressed salad so it gets soggy easy. CHEAP boring salad: FEW ingredients in salad other than ICEBURG lettuce (not romaine)and CHEAP olives (not kalamata). Basically "cheap lettuce and some dressing". cheap small scallops and shrimp. "eggplant parmesan" is NOT the stacked MULTI-layered cheesy/saucy piece expected but two teensy thin eggplant disks fried and covered in red sauce. Margarita drinks tasted like cheap ALCHOHOL-FREE koolaide (hardly any acohol flavor at all). Spaghetti is cheap and I even got a measly 1/4? cup portion of that. THIS OLIVE GARDEN IS REALLY CUTTING CORNERS AND IT SHOWS

I wait a long time before any one took my order. I waited for ever for my food, salad, and bread stick. By the time my pasta refill had gotten here i had to go. As they brought me my refill the i said i needed a box because i had to leave. The manager brought me th refill which was like three mouth fulls. He said "No disrespect, but this is dine in only we dont allow to take home refill pasta usually... excuse me i had to ask three time for drink, ask for my salad, ask for a salad plate, ask for the pasta... and ask for my check.. then yall have the nerve to be rude to me. I am so glad i dont live here because i wont ever be back to this sorry establishment.

The wait was over a half hour to be seated. Once in the dinning room there were more than a dozen tables open (not included the whole other section of the restaurant). Staff was walking around and one of the chefs came out with a glass of wine walking around leisurely. The food was Olive Garden quality. The only complaint I have was that the salad had too much dressing on it. Our Waiter was fantastic when we saw him, except we were never given a refill on our drinks. The decor was WAY out of date and the floor was filthy (with trash and dirty silverware on the ground).

Absolutely wordy service ever!!! Have this place a second chance after getting sick on my first time set this location. I had lunch with my very pregnant sister she ordered a sprite and it had black moldy stuff floating in it!! I know from working in this industry what this is!! They dont clean the soda nozzles so she orders a water which takes at least 15 min to arrive not to mention the 20 min it took to get the salad and soup which I ordered both and was never given a plate!! The waiter was awful!!!!! I am so disgusted and displeased with this location.

I first came in to Olive Garden and I wasnt sure how it would be on this side of town. Ive been to many Olive Gardens and this one by far had the best service I have ever encountered. Or maybe it was my server who made me feel like a me and my family were the only people that mattered even though she was serving 3 other tables. Always had my drinks refill, she was kind and it just made the whole environment just wonderful.I believe the servers name was shadea I recommend her but they all seem like they do a great job and the food is A1.
