I love chipotle. But this is by far the worst one Ive ever been to. The employees are surly and lazy.... The experience is much more like going to a McDonalds than the warm customer service you normally would get. The main difference though is that at least McDonalds will serve you promptly. I routinely wait more than 10 minutes on line (seriously Ive timed it) to get a burrito, and thats not during peak times. The length of the line doesnt seem to influence the staff to pick up the pace either... I see them goof around routinely or stop the line altogether for a couple of minutes at a time to meander around to the back for ingredients because nobody thinks to replenish them at the front until theyre totally out. Regional management honestly needs to just come in an clean house, hire a competent manager and rebuild the staff from scratch. In the meantime, expect a lack of eye contact, greeting, smiles, or even acknowledgment. The only thing that keeps me coming back is that I like the food and there isnt another one nearby. Enjoy.

After the past 4 or 5 visits to the Chipotle in Patrick Henry Mall in Newport News Va I have been very disappointed. Dont get me wrong, I love the taste of Chipotle but I am furious at the amount of food that I was given. This past time I only received about half a scoop of rice and a half of scoop of chicken. Usually I get a sufficient amount of rice but I never seem to get enough chicken. So it was a surprise to me that I only received half a scoop of rice. Im sorry but if I am paying 6.50 plus tax for a chicken bowl I should get more than a half a scoop of chicken. I remember when I first started going to Chipotle I was very pleased with the amount of food I received but now I am very disappointed. Also in one instance we ordered our food online. Before I left I checked my food and there was almost nothing in my bowl. I walked in to ask why I was given so little and came under the impression that the workers thought that since I was not there to watch them make my food they could give me less then what you would normally get.

All these people complaining in the reviews are ignorant. The place is attached to a mall, it isnt a standalone restaurant. Is it a little dirty in the dining area sometimes? Maybe. And thats one thing they can work on. But to give it a 1 star review cause there was some food on the floor? Please. They have great food. As for the lack of decorations that someone complained about, I will reinterate that they are attached to a mall and therefore have limited wall space. You cant negatively judge it for that. I love the food here, and the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because I love guacamole and I feel like they skimp on it in the burritos and bowls. Its almost $2 extra and sometimes, depending on the person making my meal, they put too small of a dollop. Other than that, this place is amazing for what it is and where its located. Would definitely recommend.

Ive been to this location quite a few times. The food is almost always excellent, even when I come in at the wire. The Carnitas are my favorite and Ive enjoyed them now that they are back. I respect that it took a little bit to get the right pork and they were dedicated to quality. I also would like to take the time to point out that this location in the Patrick Henry Mall, has always had really good customer service. Surprising for a mall location, even more surprising given the age of most of the front line staff. But the store has in my visits shown a dedication to being welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great customer service will always get my attention. The fact that despite the high volume of customers they are dedicated to keeping their dining areas clean and organized is also a plus.

I know nobody reads a review for Chipotle... And why should you, we all know its the best!Let it be known that my one star review is not for Chipotle as a whole, but for the worst ordering and dining experience of my Chipotle eating history. The food was great, but not when it is all over the place because they dont wipe down tables, empty trash cans or do any sort of cleaning. If you have any plans for your day, you should just eat somewhere else, because these Chipotle workers are the walking dead and you will miss any and all plans. I think if there was a fire, they would all go down with the building due to their sense of urgency (or lack there of). You know, I love to love Chipotle, but this one should be avoided.

Its always clean, relatively fast, and most staff seem pleasant. Ordering ahead online for pickup is very useful, but you will feel nervous about being confrontational as you walk directly up to the register to pick up your Togo order at the same time the next customer from the line goes to same cashier to try to pay for theirs like a game of chicken in who gets attention first. TBH though, most of all meals here seem very dry by the time you eat them, even if adding pico de gallo or light on the salsas ... These beans and rice will dry your mouth right up.

This is my least frequented burrito joint in Newport News, and my most recent visit revealed why: everything about it is mediocre. The food is okay, the decor is okay, and the staff gave me plenty of attitude. Id rather pay $1 more and get hit on by creepy guys who dont know English for one of the amazing burritos at Los Paisas Locos, or $2 less for a tricked out burrito of equal quality with free chips and salsa from Moes on a Monday. This Chipotle doesnt live up to the national standard.

Same chipotle food, which never disappoints, but there restaurant was gross. Lots of food and trash on the floor and tables. The staff was also really weird. One guy screamed "hot" at me then dared me to touch the tacos. Then they couldnt get which items belonged in the bags and then they messed up a drink order which really confused everyone. Seating outside was a plus. Ill avoid this one next time but only for the service and location, not the quality of food.

Food is good, but they need more trainings for customer service skill. My son and I ordered food and it was my daughters turn. They got suddenly the customer who stood behind me with the middle which I order. The employees was taking her order before my daughter order. They didnt try to make me understand about an inconvenience and never asked any excuse or explanation. We were waiting more than 5min between the lady and cashier.

Staff was great but they needed more help. Kept running out of food. Had to wait for veggies and chicken to be made. Overall all wait time was 45min. Ended up placing anot online order while in the restaurant. They were hardworking though but maybe one extra person would have been helpful, restaurant was getting dirty. No one to clean tables/floors or refill lids and forks

I love Chipotle. I do not love this location. They are well below Chipotle standards. Consistently serve half filled, watery, lukewarm burritos and bowls. I decided tonight that I will not return to this location again. Dont bother. It is worth it to find a different location. The one in Hampton at Peninsula Town Center is way better.
