Came in at about 5:30p on Sunday. The space is nice, definitely a nice coffee house feel. Where and what to order were unclear but once I figured it out the employees were very pleasant. I ordered at 5:35p according to the time stamp on my receipt, a soda and a tuna melt. I waited for the soda and then grabbed a table to wait for the sandwich. Guys began carrying in big audio equipment and I was made to feel as if I was definitely in the way as they began clearing other patrons out of their way. I was reminded twice by these people that the shop closed at 6p. I knew this of course but was still waiting for my food. At 5:55p I still had no food and went to the register to ask about it. I found it sitting on the counter buried behind a stack of audio equipment where I couldnt even get to it. No one ever called out that it was ready as I heard them doing with other orders, and I couldnt get to it even if they had! I asked one of the employees to get it for me, and it was transferred to a to go container since I no longer had time to eat it. When I went outside to eat my sandwich I found out that I had been made to feel unwelcome and essentially kicked out by a church that apparently has a service there on Sunday at 6:30. I understand closing time and knew that when I ordered but very disappointing to be made to feel unwelcome by people setting up a church before the shop even closed! I will not likely return.

I cant even give this place one star. My husband and I were looking for a nice place to get some cake and coffee. We arrived at 7:45pm. When we ordered a slice of pie and coffee, the female stated, "It is to go, right? We close in 15 minutes." Talk about not being customer focused! We had asked for a small cup of ice to cool our coffee. We never received the ice, but I didnt need it because the Pumpkin Spice coffee was barely luke warm. My husband waited where they were putting out the drinks, and the guy went to the complete other side and loudly yelled, "Pie and ice cream," even though he knew where my husband was standing. At 7:55, they announced they were closing in 5 minutes. At about 7:57, 2 couples walked in, and the 2 workers basically refused to wait on them. As soon as the couples walked in, they announced, "We are closed." As we were leaving, we heard the guy complain about how many people were in the place tonight. REALLY? Those people are called your customers, 2 of which will not be coming back!

Twice in a row I have come here to work on projects and, after purchasing something to eat or drink, found that the internet was not working. The first time it happened someone was able to restart the router, but last time nobody even tried to help. There was no manager available and the two people running the shop were very young and didnt know what to do. I asked several times, but they failed to do anything. If youre looking for a shop to be with your friends or to read this is a great place; if you require internet to do your work (or your school) SKIP THIS PLACE!! Extremely frustrating.

While sitting here at Aromas, I just got turned onto musician Ben Howard (if you like Damien Rice . . . check him out). The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, the coffee has a really balanced roast, and the WiFi is free and strong. To support a local company, Im always willing to pay a couple dollars more. But price is the only reason that this isnt a 5-star -- their food costs are just on that upper edge of the "get what you pay for" curve that will keep this from being a daily stop for me.

Wednesday night OPEN MICat Aromas Newport News brings out the best musicians in the area. It has a great atmosphere, great food and beverages, and attentive staff. I just got back from lunch there and had the best French Dip Roast Beef sandwich I have ever had -- and I have had a lot of them. Another thing that absolutely blew my taste buds away was their Shrimp Cilantro Soup. Both of these were specials (though I wish they were menu items) so call before you rely on them being there.

Went here a couple of times while living up in Newport News and was pleased each time. The drinks are really good and the place has a very cozy and eclectic vibe. The staff was nice and were very efficient when it came to preparing our beverages and having them ready in no time. I would recommend that if you are in the area and want to stop into a nice quaint cafe for a quick drink and a bite to eat you try out Aromas! I think you will be quite pleased that you decided to give it a try.

Had a great breakfast. "First timer". I drink hot tea yet was charged by the size and received it in a paper cup. Hot tea should be served like the coffee, in a actual mug. And charging based on how much water is poured in the cup, and the teabag doesnt change size is kinda crazy too... Other then my tea experience, it was a great place, glad my son and his girlfriend took us here.... They are moving and today may be the last time I see them for a long time...

A little pricey, but the food is top notch, the coffee is amazing on a cold, wet rainey day, and the staff there are the friendliest and awesome at making whatever cup of joe or wrap your heart could need. Plus they have open mic nights (wed and Thursday, but dont quote me) and game boards. Dude, why arent you here already? The only negative, its almost too popular, so at high traffic times it can get a bit busy and crowded.

Walked in to relax and get some coffee while Playing Pokemon Go at the Fountian. It was super clean with a very laid back atmosphere. The staff were amazing and had smiled that could turn any day bright. I was suggested the "Butterbeer" Frappuccino because I have Harry Potter tattoos. It was so good! The one thing I always hate about butterbeer is how sweet it is, their version of butterbeer wasnt overly sweet at all!!

Have dined @Aromas twice; both times the experience and the food were impeccable. I had a sandwich and a smoothie both of which were excellent. I dont think the closing listed is correct. The only night they remain open late is for the Wednesday night open mic night. Other than that they close at 6. Price of an entree and beverage just south of $10.

I visit Aromas Newport News daily and have yet to have a reason to complain. The staff is friendly and has gotten to know me over the past couple of months - enough where I no longer have to tell them my order. I would highly recommend this coffee shop as a place to go read, meet up with friends, or to take your family.

We first tried Aromas in Williamsburg where it is packed many of the times. We only drink decaf and enjoy their coffee, but little did we know how much we would enjoy the meals there as well. We had breakfast and we have also had their desserts and the apple pie is colossal (as said) and very good.
