Ive eaten at the Gloucester Courthouse Cafe on a several occasions. What Id like to say is every time Ive eaten there it has been a good service coupled with Good Cafe food. What I particularly like about this cafe is that there are times when I do not eat meat and they are more than happy to accommodate me with a vegetarian put together that I suggest and its not a big deal and they take care of me just fine. I really appreciate that extra mile theyre willing to go with their menu and the food preparation that I require at those times. Id like to say thank you to the wait staff who are always cheerful and more than willing to help you out in any way and fulfill your every need in a Grand Cafe Style. Hats off to the Gloucester Courthouse Cafe.

I liked it here very much. We have been back a few times. Its really great to get breakfast even during lunch time. The place does get busy, but the food is great. The prices are fair and you get a good amount of food. You arent going to get constant attention when they are super busy, but every time we go we get great service. I dont need someone by my table all of the time. Its a smaller place which is nice and it has a very one- of- a kind unique feel to it. No dinner service though, but an awesome breakfast or lunch.

If youre breakfast oriented, Courthouse has your fix. If you prefer lunch, they will take the order. Conversation is a regular occurrence. This is a down to Earth family owned restaurant that is one of the jewels of Gloucester. Friendly and filling are what you will experience at the Courthouse Restaurant here in Gloucester, Virginia. Terrible service. I ordered, 40 minutes later the waitress said they didnt have buns so if I wanted, i could have it on bread. I canceled order and fifteen minutes later, the manager came over and said they already had the burgers made and so they were going to drive down to food lion and get some buns. Its been twenty minutes since he left for buns. Im not waiting any longer. Side notes: drinks are $1.75 for a can, the table next to us left hungry as well. Would not recommend to anyone.

Weekdays are better than the weekend, when the owners son seems to be running the place. (Weekdays would get 5 stars.) The weekend staff yelling across the dining room, seemingly inattentive to the customer, food undercooked (bacon for BLT), and incomplete order (missing cole slaw for BBQ) is what dropped the star rating.

Food tasted precooked (microwave) quality. Really a shame..20 years ago this place was a great option for breakfast..somehow these current owners have a good regular crowd that must have sawdust for a palate..this place really sucks.

I love this restaurant. The owners and waitress and other staff go out of their way to make you feel good and like you are part of their family. The food is great and so are the prices. If you have never been here try it.

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. I got the club sandwich and it was delicious. Husband got the bbq and wasnt too thrilled with it. He loved the baked beans and fries though. Looking forward to trying it for breakfast.

10 minutes to get seated after being budged out of line, 45min or more to get oatmeal and a fruit cup. Ended up leaving with no food, and spending $5 on two cups of average Joe coffee.
