I am a huge fan of Panera as a company, but this store just made Panera lose my business. Which is a total shame, as I have been a huge Panera cheerleader for years. I had a reward available for a free daily bagel for the entire month. The site allowed me to redeem an award on one day and pick it up on a future day, since redeeming happens at the time of checkout. To avoid multiple trips to Panera in a day, I also ordered my free daily bagel for today this morning. I successfully did this earlier in the week, and I was able to pick up multiple bagels. When I went to pick them up this morning, I was told that I was using the reward improperly, and my Panera rewards card would be cancelled. They "let it slide" last time, but now, instead of just telling me I did it improperly, they said my account would be cancelled. They went straight for the nuclear option. I would have been happy to redeem it in only the appropriate way, if I had only known that I was not doing it in an acceptable manner. I called corporate, and they said that stores cannot cancel reward accounts, just corporate customer service. I called the store manager to let her know that their employee was rude and threatened/lied to me. So, I was lied to, and I was threatened with rewards card cancellation because of... 1) something that their online system allowed to happen multiple times. 2) something that the same store already "let slide" once before. I will not be going to Panera again, at least not this location. They have lost my frequent business over something as silly as a bagel. This is the only way to ensure that they will not try to impose their wrath upon me again for something so small and trivial.

Food is always good at Panera, but "Dennis" the manager was quite rude to me during my visit today. Typically, when I order, I stand by the counter where you pick up your food because though the food is good, they typically mess up the order (wrong dressing, wrong bread choice, something is generally wrong). So I stand nearby, so if I see it, I can correct it and be on my way. In this case, I stood toward the end of the counter. I was not in the way, though the restaurant was mostly empty. Nonetheless, Dennis comes over and TELLS me to go sit and wait for my order... like I was his employee... or child... or something OTHER than a paying customer who had just spent has $40 in this establishment. It was rude, unfriendly and unprofessional and not indicative of the typical customer experience I am accustomed to at Panera. I wasnt in the way or doing anything that would justify Dennis speaking to me in such a demeaning way... well except I am African American. Hmmm... so either Dennis is rude to only black people or rude in general. Either way Panera, he should be retrained on how to treat customers!

I used to love this Panera. The service and food has been TERRIBLE lately!!! Im not sure who is running this place, but I can tell you its being run into the ground. The restaurant has been dirty, bathrooms have been gross and out of soap- EWWW! I waited 15 minutes for a bagel, when I finally went up to ask what was up with the wait, they said, "oh we ran out". I gave this Panera another shot by ordering online and picking up.. well, they didnt have the milk that I ordered and I had to wait for the manager to take it off the bill, which took at least 10 minutes of me waiting. Today was the last straw for me. I once again did the rapid online pick up. I got my breakfast sandwich and as I went to eat it, the side of the bread that was facing down was completely burnt. I am done with the Panera in Mechanicsville. Dont waste your time or money there. You get much better service at McDonalds

FILTHY, HORRIBLE!!! Was treated very poorly. Ordered a roast beef sandwich which in full size was smaller than a half at other paneras, they used tiny slices of bread here. They ask for a tip which Im glad I didnt leave because, SEE THE PICTURES!!! THE PLATE THEY BROUGHT THE FOOD ON WAS FILTHY DIRTY. EVEN THE NAPKINS HAD BEEN USED BEFORE!! I immediately stood up disgusted and brought my food back to the counter which the workers and especially the MANAGER who was a woman in her later 30s did not seem surprised at all!! I was offered to take the same dirty food to go which I declined. Requested to make a new sandwich which I fed to my dog. Worst panaera bread experience and ill never be back. the staff not being surprised Im sure they do worse so BEWARE. This place needs to be shutdown or remove the dangerous manager

I have actually planned to eat at another Panera because it was getting past the dinner hour and I was closer to another location. However, when I went to the restroom in that particular location, it was unkept and there was no soap in the soap dispenser. This is a killer for me at any restaurant! My husband and I immediately left and drove to our favorite Panera at Bell Creek Rd. because it is ALWAYS CLEAN, the service is ALWAYS GREAT, and the employees have always been EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND PLEASANT! Needless to say, we always go back to our FAVORITE Panera Bread location! Our daughter and her family (including a one-year old and a three year-old) love eating there with us!

We were enjoying our salads even though many of the croutons were spongy and soggy. The part of our experience that was most unappetizing was having to hear a dark haired woman and man giving a review to a young blonde male employee. They were discussing the need to rotate food better and the need to keep prep areas and equipment cleaner in the kitchen. We were not trying to ease drop but couldnt help overhear the conversation. This is not something customers want to hear while dining in an establishment. Might I suggest to give those reviews out of customer ear shot. Very disappointed in professionalism shown. Thanks

I was told at checkout they were out of butter, weird?! I was still charged for cream cheese, I felt it should have been free since they were out butter. When I confronted the manager about this, she magically found butter but still wouldnt refund me for the cream cheese. To me, thats just poor customer service considering Panera is a multi billion dollar company! Im pretty sure my $3.00 wasnt going to break them but it definitely will stop me from going there.

I found this Panera to be Excellent!! The staff seems to actually care about their long term customers and always seems willing to help new ones as well. My first experience here was with my disabled mother and not only did they offer us amazing service they also took our plates to the table, help me pick a suitable meal for my mother, and they held the door open while I pushed my mothers wheel chair out. I love this Panera.

I visited the Mechanicsville location today (6-10-17) and was greeted by Justin who gave awsome customer service. The very experience that you want where you get the best salads in town. Hes a keeper and I hope each employee at all of the Panara locations have his willingness to satisfy customers. Thanks Panara for employing the best. Thanks for employing Justin. Alfreda C.
