My girlfriend and I have been going here on weekends for almost a year now. At best, I would describe Silver Diner in Innsbrook as promising, but terribly inconsistent in their quality of food and customer service. They have a lot of good food options. When the food is served right, it is excellent. But on at least 3 occasions, maybe more, the food was under-cooked and/or tasted terrible. They would typically make up for this by offering to replace the dish with a new one and giving us a card for a free meal. But this happened repeatedly, and so I question their commitment to quality. At the very least, they could try to hire some better chefs. Weve had good servers in the past, but lately weve had plain awful servers. The last one we had rudely and repeatedly walked away / turned her back to us while she was taking our orders, and of course forgot what Id ordered. Then when I got my dish, it tasted oddly like chemicals. I thought it was plastic, maybe, and my girlfriend agreed. After I reported the issue, the manager came out to refund the dish and assure me that it was not plastic, but his tone was seemingly cold and argumentative. In the past, the cheery staff more than made up for the inconsistent food quality. Its amazing what a positive attitude will do to ensure return customers. But now they clearly didnt want my business any more.

Im giving them 1-star because thats the minimum allowed. We went there as part of a larger group, with our 5-month old. We were told to sit anywhere near the corner where the group was and we did. All of the others tables that had the group were full, so we grabbed a table near them. Thats about where the friendly service ended. I fed the baby from her jarred food. Not once did anyone ask if we would like so much as a glass of water. When we had tried to flag people down, in the first 15-20m there, we were outright ignored. They wouldnt look in our direction and the noise level was bad enough that they probably never heard us as they rushed by. They would walk around the chair where we had fitted the portable highchair and ignore us entirely. We were there for a total of 1 hour without any offers for even a drink, let alone a menu. We wouldve left sooner, but we waited for the others to finish and to let the baby at least get breakfast. I havent been at an "ignore me" table this bad since I left Northern VA. I guess the occasional lackluster service from there is starting to come down to Richmond.

Dont go here. Go to Jerrys Restaurant in Lexington Commons right down the street. Jerrys has no wait, better food, lower prices. Server was awesome. She was very attentive and friendly. Bacon was weirdly crispy and melt in your mouth magical. Those were the only good parts of the experience. Coffee had a weird flavour. Pancakes were not good. Waffle was covered in sugar and was more of a dessert dish than a breakfast waffle. Eggs werent cooked correctly. This was after waiting 10 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was very dirty, not clean at all. Expensive and unnecessarily pretentious for a "diner". Putting the weird chef guys picture on stuff probably does more harm than good. Server was overly conscious of the survey card on the table and noticed when it was missing. Ultimately, that ended up with us having to talk to the manager. He crouched down at our table which was awkward, and we werent ever really interested in talking to a manager in the first place. It was an oddly confrontational approach to complaints.

This restaurant is a novelty. Dont expect fantastic food or great service. The waitress took about 10 minutes to come back and tell my wife that they were out of crab soup after we had ordered. I got an overpriced chocolate milkshake that was just melted chocolate ice cream. The burger I got was supposed to be medium rare and it was burnt and had way too much pepper on it. My wife ordered veggies with her meal and when asked if everything was good, she let the waitress know that she had ordered them. She said she would see if she could get her some but the kitchen is closed so probably not. Immediately after, she asked if my burger was good. What are you going to do? Uncook my burger at the table? You just told my wife the kitchen is closed, remember? By the way, my water has been empty for almost an hour and there is only 2 other people in the diner right now. Go for the scenery. Not the experience. In fact, take a look at it as you drive to another diner.

Not really I diner as such, it has the authentic look and music of a 50/60s diner, but without the menu. I heard one of the servers telling a customer, they changed up the menus about 5 years ago to something more sophisticated, yes, I would certainly agree with that. The only problem is, when you go into a place called a diner and looks like a diner, you expect to get diner type foods. I did not like much that was on the menu, the place had a weird feeling about it, probably because it was not what I was expecting. Still I ordered and ate a bacon cheeseburger and fries, the fries were warm shoestring type, the burger was ok, as someone mentioned above, not much bacon, not even a taste of bacon and certainly not worth the money. The place was clean, sat and served by two very odd individuals, this would be a one time visit as I was out of town, but I would not return even if I was back in town again.

While this is not your typical diner there are a lot of diner staples, but there are also a lot of unexpected options, many of them organic and/or local. The unexpected options are what bring us back when we are in Glen Allen. My husband and I split the Firefly Farms Goat Cheese Bruschetta. It was amazing! I also had the local flat iron steak. It was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of bleu cheese butter. I also liked the sautéed garlic spinach. My husband had the Kochs Farm Free-Range Turkey Platter. He enjoyed the turkey and mashed potatoes, but did not eat the sourdough and he got applesauce in place of the veggies. The coffee was just ok. The jukeboxes on each table are a nice touch too, even though you have to wait for your selections to be played over the diners speakers, as opposed to just at your table. We cant wait for our next visit.

This place has an awesome selection on food especially gluten free items. But they do NOT follow their policy. Says that its 100% clean...the table and underneath the table was dirty. And two of my friends orders came out wrong and their policy states that if your order is wrong , you get 10% off your meal and get a free entree on your next visit. Well the manager who helped us was very rude, she charged the debit card for one of the meals and did not offer them nor tell them about the free entree on their next visit and our server was fairly new and we noticed that the table across from us got their food first who sat down after us. We asked our server what was taking so long because we had waited 30-40 mins and he admitted to us that he had trouble ringing up our orders. Why did nobody help him?? That was my first and last time there.
