Been here on two separate occasions. First was for breakfast with a party of four and we sat at a booth near the front window. Everyone ordered breakfast and I was delighted with the large portions at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is laid back and very casual. The second time I sat at the bar, they were fairly busy but definitely not a full house. The views at the bar showed a completely different story. I saw the cook touch food immediately after wiping down the chopping board with a towel. I saw another woman touching many things including a towel then restock tomatoes with her bare hand. The cook had his right hand gloved but never changed it so sort of pointless. The towels were never returned to thenwater basins. Their cold bin stayed open the entire 45mins I was there so i bet that wasnt kept at adequate temperature. I know, I know did i not have anything better to do but make a mental list of citations? No clearly not and having worked in the industry its a curse to know what is not being done correctly. Aside from that I ordered their old fashion fried chicken thinking this is a good ol country cafe they probably have a fantastic batter. It was not bad and it was cooked all the way through but ice cold in the center. All in all not the best not the worst the staff should just be aware that everyone can see their every move and some Aholes like me are watching... eek!

Super cheap prices but great food and friendly employees w great service - definitely worth more than the price, better and cheaper than fast food, great old style diner food and atmosphere. Excellent when you want to sit and eat a great diner meal and/or dont have or want to spend much. Can make a great experience walking Old Town and checking out local shops while having a great place to stop for food on a budget friendly outing/day! As far as I know they still only accept cash - so make sure to have or use atm (there is one inside, but also banks nearby, one just around the corner), if needed, worth the surcharge if you dont bank with any in the area, the cheap cost of food worth it - makes up much more for the unbelievable prices. Great for kids, groups, alone, bar and table service - no alcohol - diner bar style if sitting at the bar. Perfect atmosphere for an old town experience, makes you feel like youre back in the 50s-60s - at least for a younger person, from what Ive seen in movies in that time era lol. A perfect stop for a nostalgic feel and/or when you dont have much to spend. A little goes a long way and Ive never been disappointed. Great portions, fun place to sit at the bar w my little one - (she loves that) for a meal during a nice budgeted fun day out. Have enjoyed every meal and dessert and my little one as well!

Visited the Frost Cafe and enjoyed the food greatly. However, when it came time to pay, I was told CASH ONLY and to visit the ATM across the street. I normally tip 20 to 30%, the tab was $13.13, and the ATM charged me $3.50. Theres the tip. If they had Square, Clover, or any other processing app, I would have only been charged a 3% fee which would have amounted to $0.39. When you dont accept credit card, you are saying that you dont care about offering your customers a convenience. When I complained about the ATM charge, I was told two things: they have been doing it that way for 12 years (Well, a lot has changed in 12 years) and to "go back where you came from" (Rude). I hate math, but this is a no-brainer. Offering your customers a 3% convenience fee is a lot better than a $3.50 ATM fee. Unless your tab is $100, then its the same amount.

Great diner, wonderful friendly staff, I had the country ham special platter with home fries woth coffee and 2 eggs. Perfect size, well seasoned and carefully prepared, except for the eggs, which I have ordered scrambled an got them somewhat between an omelet and a true scrambled egg. It didnt bother me, but it was a little dry...anyway, will go back there anytime.

You get way more then you pay for. This throwback diner with the barstools and booth seating and punched tin ceiling is something you dont see much of anymore...Its like a modern day malt shop. Stopped here for breakfast before a Shenandoah National Park hike and it was awesome! Love bottomless coffee!

This cute, charming old-style soda fountain diner is great for an affordable meal. You absolutely cant go wrong with ordering breakfast. Just remember this is cash only! They do have an ATM inside, and there is also a bank across Main Street and one down Davis St.

Regular visitor to this one and the one in Warrenton. Service has been great, food has been really great as well. Much improved over the years. Great place for breakfast then to the farmers market or wander around downtown. Or to the mountain, or wherever....

Need to speed up a little bit getting the food out. The grill was clearly full of a stack of bacon already prepared. Cooking two eggs to go along with already prepared bacon shouldnt take 21 mins. Otherwise, a fantastic joint ! Will visit again when Im in town.

They had some of the worst food Ive ever eaten. Everything was dry and they didnt tell us that our appetizer wasnt available until after we asked for the check. So glad we didnt get it though. Wouldnt ever go back there again.

Turn up the temperature. Food and service was great, too bad AC was blowing so hard it literally cooled off our food (screwy vent system seems to make it hard to control on hot days). Reasonable prices as well.

I love this place. The food is awesome and the service is friendly. Their breakfasts are what I usually get so Im glad they serve breakfast all day. Prices are good, too. I recommend to anyone in Culpeper.

Hey you, yeah you! Driving down rt. 29 looking for a good Mom and Pop breakfast stop... this is that place. Friendly. Fast. Great home cooked food. Maybe 5 minutes off the highway. You will thank me!

Two out of towners from st Louis stumbled in. Not only did we get a couple of great sandwiches, but a personal history lesson and personal directions to Skyline Drive. Thanks for a great experience!

Best food We have had in a long time. Good OLD style food. Came up from NC for a Family research trip for three days. We ate at Frost Diner twice. Wish we had food like this here in NC.

Been here a couple of times and always had a good meal. Quiet atmosphere and rustic feel. Just bring cash, they dont take credit, but do have an atm on site in case you forget.

Loved the old dinner feel and the food was excellent. It is nestled in the center of town right on the corner which makes for a great location to shop after eating.

Awesome place recommended by a friend that lives in the area. Definitely making it a regular stop on the way back from Skyline on the way home to Richmond!
