Guadalajara is a great place to grab lunch. Food comes out very quickly and is always solid. This is seriously one of the most consistent places to eat in Charlottesville. Theyre not going to win any awards for culinary excellence, but Id still put them a step above the crappy chains in town (Chiles, etc.). The value is awesome. Yea, they overcharge for a Coke, but what restaurant doesnt? The lunch specials rock: for $5 and some change, you can get a great lunch thats served up quick and with friendly service. Definitely a "go to" lunch spot for myself and many of my co-workers. Ive never had a bad experience there. One word of warning: the Fontaine/JPA location gets hot in the summer. The other locations are properly air conditioned, but for whatever reason, that one is sometimes uncomfortably warm. * Please note the date of this review -- they may improve for the 2011 summer, but who knows? *

Queso....haha I came here on Easter Sunday -solo -so hungry with a headache - just wanting a quick bite after a long weekend.. I asked if they had a bar - the man immediately told me the have a martini, bit only an apple martini. So... It was a nice night, so I asked to sit outside- bUT every table was bright like spotlights on a runway- so I opted for a table inside. I was placed in a private room with no one else - and asked what I wanted to drink...No, I have a headache - so water is fine. The service gal (she did not speak english) took my order for cheese and onion enchiladas (no comprende) the I said queso and collaboration enchiladas... in 2 min brough me cheese enchiladas with a big side bowl of chopped onions. Lololol... i asked - no onions inside of the enchiladas? I only wished I would have got a picture of it before she wisked it away- aye ya ya jajaja

Awful food. The margaritas are good and thats why I always go back but after the last meal, Ive had it. They served me the blandest, most awful meal Ive had in a long time and thats saying something since I just got back from a long flight and ate several meals on the plane... The meal consisted of a bland white tortilla, CANNED chicken. Bleah... And some tomato, lettuce and sour cream. I ended up taking it home and giving the chicken to my dog. He seemed to think it was ok... yuck, yuck, yuck...

The staff was wonderful, some of the nicest waiters Ive ever encountered. Which is saying something since I went on Cinco de Mayo, which was quite hectic. The food was delivered insanely fast but was just ok in terms of flavor. Our margaritas were also just ok (pretty watery even though they were supposed to be frozen)--but it was obviously their busiest day of the year so I cant blame them too much. The outside seating area was nice.

Guadalajara is the mexican restaurant against which all other mexican restaurants I frequent will be judged. As a connoisseur of cheap Mexican food this place ranks highest on my list. Now Im not suggesting that this is the best Mexican food Ive ever tasted but it is super fast, very cheap and the food is good enough. They have decent margaritas too.

Pretty good tex-mex spot. The burrito de fajita is a great deal considering the amount of food you get. Giant beers at favorable prices too. Id give five stars if there were something more unique on the menu, but make no mistake, this place will satisfy those burrito cravings without putting a hole in your wallet.

This is my favorite restaurant. Excellent food. I love the home made chips and salsa. Put a Dos Equis next to them and my world is complete! Excellent chimichangas. The food is just awesome. People are nice. Food comes quick. The "overpriced" review is inaccurate! Overpriced unless you want to each for $1

Some people in Charlottesville love Gudalajara, I guess an outside I just dont get it- have never had a good meal there, and have eaten at 3 different locations. The food is not authentic at all. Even nachos or cheese quessidillas arent good here. For good Mexican, head to Aqui es Mexico!

For some reason we always seem to like the downtown Guadalajara best. It reminds us more of a family run business. The food is good at all locations, but I am a little picky about Mexican food, since I lived in CA for 40 years, we got a little spoiled on really good Mexican places to eat.

We happened to be traveling through town on our way home and stopped at this quaint little restaurant. The food was hands down the best Mexican cuisine my husband and I have ever had. Friendly and attentive service just made our experience that much more delicious!!!

Loved the atmosphere and food. Highly recommend the california burrito. Salsa was spicy and fresh. (Normally salsa tastes like it just came out of a can) Staff was friendly and welcoming. Cant wait to come again.

Four stars for what it is: American Mexican food. Monday through Thursday lunch specials make it one of the cheapest lunches in Cville. Try the lunch special number 1 with a Victoria.

Hours: Open today · 11:00 am – 10:00 pm (Saturday 6/27/15) (google) We went there 11:15 ... Bartender (or wtw) told us that they will start at 12:00 ... Thank you for nothing.

Great food. Quick service. If its your first time, get the Guadalajara special to sample a little bit of everything. Also, the Choriqueso is AMAZING.

Good food. Cold Dos Equis. Burrito California is a solid choice, but the hidden treasure is the Sopes. So good.
