As bad for you as hot dogs are, I love them. I only eat them from time to time. So, when my wife and I heard about this place, I thought it would be great. When we arrived, the waitress came by and got us our drink and immediately asked if we knew what we wanted, so we said can you give us a couple of minutes. Well I guess that meant 10. We decided and closed our menus and waited for her to come back. Now, this is pretty early in the evening, so there were maybe 3 other tables of people, and about 4 waiters. She stood back behind the counter, and talked to the other people working there, and looked straight at us several times without coming back to take the order. Finally we got our orders in, my wife had a grilled cheese, I thought I try their wings, and a coney island supreme basically large chili dog with mustard and onion. The wings: wow, I didnt know if it was buffalo wings or buffalo wing soup. There were about half plate of sauce. Once I tasted the wings, I realized why all the sauce. The wings did not taste fresh at all. I dont know how long they had them cooked and just sitting back there. The hog dog: The buns were suppose to be toasted, but they were not freshly toasted. It almost seemed like they toast them ahead of time, and then just throw in the toaster to heat it up again. It has the consistency of wood shavings. The hot dog itself was OK, then again, its pre-processed, and pre-packaged, so how hard is it to not fk it up. The chili was tasteless, and there were about a half cup of mustard on it. The grilled cheese: My wife came home with an upset stomach and couldnt sleep all night. So, my advice is to avoid this place at all cost. Even IHOP is better then this place, or McDonalds. Hell, the 7-11 spicy bite is a lot better then this stuff. If you want some nice diner food, try Cheeseburger Cheeseburger over at the Wegmens shopping center on Rt 28. Food is 100 times better. Or if youre up for a hike, go up to Arlington and try Metro 29 diner. Now that is a diner! :o)

I drove past this place hundreds of times and have always wanted to try it out. My chance came on a Sat afternoon around 2:00. It was time for my lunch break and I was driving near the restaurant on Rt. 7 so I decided to give it a go. First of all, when giving a 2 star review it shows "Disliked it" which was a little harsh I thought, because it seemed like such a nice place but couldnt bring myself to give 3 stars. OK now for the review. I really wanted to like this place... I give good marks for the decor. I felt that it was nicely decorated and the music was good. Also I thought that the service was good. My waitress was polite, friendly and visited the table the right amount of times. The food did not take an inordinately long time to come to the table after I ordered. Thats where things went downhill for me... I had the "Home Made" meatloaf with mashed potatoes and vegetables. In my opinion, the meatloaf was probably frozen (It looked to me like the sort of patty that one would get from a frozen dinner) and was for me over-the-top salty, the mashed potatoes were dried out and in my opinion was too small a quantity. The steamed vegetables were decent. The mashed potato and meatloaf were smothered in a brown gravy. I just dont think the food was a good value for the money. I had an iced tea with my meal and ended up paying $15 with tip. In my opinion, For that $15, there are a lot of better places to eat. A lot of other reviews suggest the breakfast items are a better choice, so perhaps I will go back and try something else. There were a lot of 5 star reviews, so a lot of people love this place. Maybe I came on a bad day or something. *Note to the kitchen or owner: If this meatloaf really is "Home Made" please get another recipe. The meatloaf that I had here was in my opinion, the worst meatloaf I have ever eaten and tasted like it was taken from grocery store frozen dinner.

The staff was lazy. The atmosphere is nothing of the "50s style" they claim it to be. The closest it came to 50s was the music. The decor was nothing close to 50s style. The location is horrible because you can only access it from one side of the highway and if youre traveling in the opposite direction you have to go out of the way to turn around. The closest thing they have to a sign is a hardly noticeable banner, right at the turn with no early notice that the turn is coming up. We ordered the supreme double hot dog, whatever. It gives you the impression that youre receiving two separate dogs in two separate buns. Instead the dogs were shoved together on one bun thats squished down on the plate and youre only give a tiny bit of chili, cheese, and onion to just barely cover the middle most of the dogs. The burger was decent. The silverware was dirty, every set they brought to us. Their shakes are mediocre at best. Nothing about this screamed diner, nothing about this was worth the trip besides the cheap prices. Honestly, if I knew I was paying this much for this crappy of a dog I would have gone to Sonic. At least I would have gotten a loaded chili dog for less. Bad location, bad decor, lame staff, and bad food. Im not picky at all, but this was pathetic. Unless they redecorate, put up a big sign, and actually give better food, theyre not going to last. We were the only ones in there for dinner. Gotta say..theyre headed down hill....fast. I hope the owner reads about these.

Ive been here twice. The first time was a sunday morning after the church rush. Plenty of wait staff and the food wasnt bad. The wait staff, however, was kinda slow. I ordered a chocolate milk thinking Id be blown away...not so much. We ordered take out this weekend. I got to the counter and there was only one waitress for the entire place working. Wheres the managers helping out? I ended up waiting 10 minutes to get my food and pay. Strike one. I ordered a milk shake to go. The only one that I guess could make this was the waitress and it really wasnt all that great. Strike two. I asked that my patti melt have cheese and onions only. They only gave me cheese. Strike three. My pancakes and homefries were good. I got there and had a coupon from a monthly flier that was $2.00 off. They did not accept it. The manager said he did not know where this came from. Strike four. This place needs to beef up its wait staff and get people who actually know how to run a restaurant. Wont be going back anytime soon. Go to IHOP for a better bfast and better service. Go to Costco for a better hot dog.

I have read most all the reviews about this place, Its not a Chili dog dinner. It serves all kinds of food & I chose breakfast. I was very pleased with my meal. I ordered a Western omelette it came with home fries & toast, I also ordered OJ & Coffee. Now doing that cost a whole lot more. So next time I will order a combo & that comes with OJ & Coffee. Other then tipping the cost for 2 people ordering combos its about the same cost as Chick fil a for breakfast. And I for one would rather eat here. if your in a hurry then use the take out. The food was very good not great, But good dinner food. Yes its hard to get to & even harder to see from the road, Im sure county/building restrictions keep them from putting up more signage. One final note this place is not huge & one waitress was all it needed, she was pleasant & fast with my order. If your in a rush then go to fast food other wise dont leave comments about how slow your service was. It also seems that most of the bad comments were from years ago. I did not experience any thing bad about this place. So enjoy....
