I have been a patron of this restaurant for YEARS!! It was 5 STARS, my very favorite Chinese Restaurant in the whole area. I would drive from Dinwiddie County to Richmond to eat here, I cared for it that much. It is now under new management and it shows everywhere. They have cut staff, reduced amenities, dont care about customers at all, at checkout we tried to tell the people about our experience and the new management would not even come out and speak to us. Gone are cloth napkins, clean glasses with drink refills (they didnt even dump the melted ice out before adding new pepsi to glass), no garnishments on plate and reduced staff. We waited 1.5 hours to get our food. The restaruant filled up and emptied out before we got food and finished eating. My egg roll was served cold, COLD!! And this new management didnt care to speak with a regular patron. Shame.....I have been eating at this place for almost 30 years well no more they will not see me again.

I will never order from the Yen Ching Midlothian location ever again! Worse customer service I have ever seen. I ordered the Crispy Chicken last night and told them NOT spicy, however when I got home to eat it later it was EXTREMELY spicy so I ate the rest of my meal (chicken w. broccoli) and decided since it was late I would call the next day. So today I call and explain the problem and was told it would NOT be replaced because I didnt call last night and they dont know whose fault it is. I have been eating at Yen Ching for years and I have ALWAYS gotten the crispy chicken NOT spicy. After arguing with the Manager back and forth I asked him if he was willing to lose me as a loyal customer (I eat there about once a week) his response was Im sorry you should have called yesterday.... Needless to say I told him I will never order from there again and he told me "OK"....

Me agrado el lugar. La comida estaba deliciosa. Aunque fue un poco dificil hacer el pedido de la comida, me gusto que la camarera fuera asiatica. Hace que la experiencia sea mucho mejor. Considero que deberìan mejorar los baños y tambien tener un lugar para guardar cajas y otros materiales sin que esten a la vista del cliente

I asked to sample their sweet tea to see if I like it and manager told me "No". I asked how would I know if i like it, he said if I dont like it dont like, dont order it. I was insulted because i have spent countless money here and he was rude. I will not go there again because thru dont know how to treat or talk to their customers. We ordered the Yen Ching Lomein and the beef wasnt fresh. The first drink we ordered was a Sprite and we asked for a refill with Coke and was told we cant do that. Worse food and service ever.

I have been to 27 states and this was the absolute worst Chinese food ever. Everything tasted old, it was discolored and flavorless. Fried wontons were stale and chewy shrimp toast was small and soggy and the chicken in the chicken lo mein was dry and bad and there was more sprouts than lo mein in the lo mein the wonton soup tasted like dirty water and the wontons in the soup must have been soaking for days. Yuck . And $25 down the drain.

**DONT LET THE LOOK FOOL YOU** Have to admit I am mad I have lived on south side all these years and still traveled to tops china on mechanicsville for the past 9 years. Their shrimp lo men was delicious and juicy shrimp was a nice size also my shrimp roll had a nice amount of shrimp in it as well. I have recommended a few friends and family as well. Ive been to this place since I was very young and it is the ONLY place I will go to when I crave Chinese food. The food is very fresh and prepared quickly, the egg drop soup is my favorite and NO ONE makes it like this place. The prices are also very comfortable and the staff strives to be helpful and friendly. One of my favorite restaurants of all time.

Food is always delicious; however the customer service is terrible and online ordering doesnt work in cooperation with the hours. Ordered wonton soup with just the broth and extra noodles. They wanted to charge me $1.75 for extra noodles when theyre saving $$ by not using the wonton or pork- what kind of business sense does that make??

CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT. Good noodles! The hand shaven noodles had a nice chewy but not rubbery texture. I wasnt a huge fan of the broth, but I certainly didnt hate it. Pork ears were surprisingly tasty. Never thought Id be chewing on pig ears.You get a good amount of food for the price. Decor is very basic and atmosphere is casual.

Do not challenge the bill. You could get beaten up, specially if you are a woman. Today a woman got hit by the manager. I mean physically beaten up. Thanks to some female employees begging the manager or owner not to hurt her, he stopped, but hit her in the nose and forehead. Shame on yen Ching owners.

The food was earlier then expected. It was very tasty. But the chicken in the chicken fried rice was very dry. I received 1 napkin 2 duck sauce and 2 soy sauce, 1 mustard packet. It was very expensive considering all of these things. But other then that the friend chicken I bought was delicious and hot !

I travel to Va for work once a month and stay in this area overnight and i decided to try this place for delivery to my hotel, so glad i did, The crispy honey chicken is amazing, the honey sauce and crispy pecans on top of the chicken are so good, fast fast fast service, awesome food friendly people!

Worst Chinese food I have ever bit into never ever I would feed that to the raccoon in the dumpster if I could rate -10 stars I would then guy didnt want to give me any change when my bill was 33.50 and I handed him a 50 this is first I have ever rated but people must know about them

I have patronized this restaurant for years and I was very disappointed when they refused to cook my order to my specifications and requested substitute. They food is very good but service has changed quite a bit since the change in management Youll need to step your game up.....

Ordered for delivery. Lo Mein was nearly flavorless and overcooked. Brown rice, overcooked. Crab Rangoons dont have usual taste. Did not like the celery at all in it. Overpriced. Definitely a waste of money.
