Lighthouse Tofu is one of my favorite places to go when Im in the mood for simple Korean food like sundubu jigae. The ultimate Korean comfort food, sundubu jigae is great for vegetarians or for anyone who just wants a simple soup with tofu and veggies. They also have a seafood version if you want more than just veggies. Its a good place for either dates, small or larger groups. You can share a large seafood pancake for $12.99 and then get individual soup bowls. I came here with my boyfriend and his coworker once and we did just that. We ordered a large seafood pancake to share and we each ordered our own soup bowls. I ordered the seafood (clam, shrimp, oyster) bowl, which is $7.95 for lunch and $9.95 for dinner. They also have kimchi and beef soup, doenjang jigae, and a few others. Theyll give you a raw egg to crack into your bowl of soup if you desire. Aside from soups, they have chicken/beef dishes like bulogi that are served with rice and side dishes and noodle dishes (theres one thats stir-fried with octopus and another with calamari). Like I mentioned, its a great place for sundubu jjigae. Small, cozy place and service is solid.

Favorite place in the area for authentic Koran food. I ordered the dinner combo 2. It comes with 2 soups, Galbi and huge dumplings. With all the Ban Chan for a party of 2 youll be stuffed. The Galbi was cooked perfectly and the meat was still sizzling 30 minutes into our meal. You get great flavor with the Sundubu soup. I want to emphasize again that these dumplings are huge. You can tell their handmade and not frozen. Lightly fried with a little crisp texture. Dinner for 2 came to around $50 including tip. I always stop by here if Im craving some good Sundubu and dont want to over stuff myself like the other buffets. There is always plenty of parking and the restaurant is never too loud with children.

The place is very crowded on weekends. Usually that translates to bad service, so be prepared. We were there on 5/1/2016 evening. I had to ask the manager to find our waitress. I did that twice, the first time was for bringing me menus, and second time was for ordering food. I had to do that otherwise we could be sitting there forever without any attention. This is a place to test your survival skills. When we ran out of kimchi i was requesting for more. They must be thinking i was joking. They didnt even have time serving ordered food, and you asking for kimchi?? The food is fine. I can live with it. If i have groupon i will go again. Thats the bottom line.

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. They dont have many options in their menu, but what they have, they do it right. They are famous for their tofu, and I think medium is good spice level, even for wimps like me. The tofu soup comes sizzling hot and you can cook your raw egg in there. I also like their kimchi and galbi. The kimchi is a little sweeter than most places and not as vinegary. I think the galbi is kind of expensive for the portion, but I splurge once in a while. Whatever you order, no matter what season it is, you will be met with friendly service and good food that wont break the bank!

The review is not about their food but about a recent unauthorized charge on my credit card. According to my credit card company, the transaction went through without swiping the card. As I have not visited this restaurant for weeks, I dont know what would be the possible reason for this to happen (recorded my card information, charged me and expected that I wont find out?). My statement is based on actual facts. The dispute is currently under investigation. I will update this review when I get more information. I wonder if anyone shared the same experience.

My go to Korean resturant. I love this place because I am normally one of the only white people in there. So you know its good. I really like the bulgogi and the soups here! Everything is good, but the kimshi here is probably the best kimshi I have found so far in the dc area. I recomend splitng meals (between 2, maybe 3) because the portions are big and there are many little side dishes that come with a main dish, just order an extra rice. Everything here is tasty and good, ENJOY!

The Tofu soup is very good! However, I feel angry about their service. The waitress doesnt know how to smile to customers. I just asked for another hot tea, and the waiter doubted why I asked that. And he just poured the cold tea to the rice bowl though we didnt start to eat!? I felt that I was not respected and I dont need a waiter to teach me the way to drink hot tea. I can understand their purpose to save cups but I cant accepted the way he told me. I felt humiliated after that.

Love this place. They have another location in Rockville, but this location is a tad more generous with the "beef" or "seafood" in your tofu soup. Their side dishes are nice and fresh which is always a plus. The service is normally great, one time I called ahead and ordered our food because we were on a time crunch and they had our food ready as soon as we walked in! However, dont expect them to serve you if you show up 10min before closing..I tried and got rejected. Womp womp.

Yum! Loads of seats for starters; never had a wait to be seated. A simple 1 page menu thats sure to not disappoint. We take the whole family with the kids in tow and enjoy the bubbling hot soup, which we sometimes order mild and often order spicy! Seafood pancake is pure perfection with a great chewiness and all around crunch thats missing in other Korean restaurants. Sure fire order is a plate of galbi BBQ which everyone fights for! Hope you enjoy as much as we do!

Weve been to the one in Centreville, which was pretty awesome :) this one bough was way better! They give you more meat in your tofu soup pot, and interior is gorgeous. You wouldnt know that from the outside, which is a brick building that I almost said was shady! But it was worth the trip. The food was amazing and the service extremely well done. Gold Stars to both Lighthouse Tofu restaurant, but the one in Annandale shines a little bit brighter :D

This restaurant is a fantastic gem! Its not easily visible from the main Street but if youre lucky enough to find to this place you wont be disappointed! The staff is prompt and the food is delicious. I know tofu doesnt always sound like the most appetizing meal but they cook it with fantastic spices, seasons and yes even meat. They have something for everyone! I look forward to going back someday, their spicy tofu soup with beef is amazing!

I have been going to this restaurant for 3+ years now. Its been great until I noticed an unauthorized credit card charge from this restaurant about 4-5 months ago. I had to go through a dispute process with my bank, & got my money back, but it was quite concerning. When I just saw that someone else posted the exact same issue, I felt that I needed to inform public about my issue as well.
