Came in on Friday night a couple of weeks ago. Had been raving to my boyfriend that it was the best authentic Chinese restaurant Id ever been to and never had any complaints... We were seated quickly and were given waters, but our server was slow to come to our table. We had been sitting there for quite some time and the owner came by to ask if our server had been around. We said she had not, but was right away once she saw the owner. It still took almost 20 minutes to get my drink. We ordered several items from the menu and the food was good, albeit pretty salty, especially our Ants Climbing a Tree. The bus boys were very attentive and dutifully filled our waters, but not once did the waitress come to ask how our food was, if we wanted dessert/coffee, anything. Again, the owner came by as we were obviously done and sitting there looking bored. We asked for our check and I told the owner that the food was good, as I figured someone should know. I would have preferred to give the server a tip that reflected our service, 10% (we were spending over $100 for two of us), but my boyfriend didnt want to be rude...on our way out I handed the bartender the $7 in cash we had between the two of us and told her to please make sure the bus boy got it as he was very attentive. When I go out and intend to spend over $100 for my meal I expect excellent service and was given sub-par treatment. It would take some convincing to go to a Single Pebble again because of this, which was very disappointing since I have always enjoyed coming here.

My husband and I stopped in on what is called Dim Sum Sunday. Every Sunday the chefs cook small portions of different menu items. The waiters bring by 3-4 of these plates at a time to your table and tell you about each dish and their flavor profile. You have the option of accepting the dish or waiting for another. They even ask what your dietary restrictions are and make sure there is something for everyone (I couldnt have seafood and my husband couldnt have peanut so the waiter told the chefs who cooked up a variety of non-seafood dishes for me and made sure there wasnt any peanuts for my husband). Each round is 10-15 minutes wait time depending on dietary restrictions. There isnt a limit on the number of times they come out. If you have a special dish in mind you want to try they are good about accommodating your request. Best dish was three cup chicken special. The dishes are a little pricey ranging from 3.99 rice/noodle only dishes to 8.99 "specials". Still a great way to try a lot of the menu. The atmosphere and staff service was top notch. Id come back for another Dim Sum day and recommend others to try it out too. Also they kindly ask that you put your phone away and just enjoy the food which is rare and nice!

Our reservation was at 9pm and when we arrived the host seemed less then excited to help us. When were being shown our table the sever cut off other customers and we were unable to follow him, thus leaving us to search for our table. When we found our table the table settings were obviously recently washed but still had food on them. The waiter came back to our table twice with dirty chop sticks. At the time we thought the food was good, however we found ourselves not feeling well later on in the night. Another thing that I found disturbing was that the wait picked up our glasses to refill them by the top rim of the glass. Furthermore, the runner of the food was less then pleasant and slammed down the food at our table, that I did not mind but when she slammed down the food and a onion fell off my dish and she picked it up off the table and put it back on my plate...well lest just say I was less then impressed. Finally, our last entrée was mixed up with the table next to us and the waiter came back after a minute and took what was supposed to be our entrée off our neighbors table and vis versa and set the correct entrée on the tables without an apology or offering to get us a new entrée.

Slightly better than take-out Chinese food at a nice restaurant with great service. I have a few complaints about this place. Most of our food came out lukewarm. The prices are insane for the quantity you get, although I understand that they use locally grown ingredients. The stuff we ordered was not spectacular in any way and not much different from the food Ive had at other Chinese restaurants. There was a bone in our Peking duck but it wasnt a big deal. The Lo Mein was too soft. On the other hand, our server, Gayle, was lovely. The waiters constantly refilled our waters and they asked us how our food was for each dish they brought out. Everything tasted good. The family-style dinner with a big rotating plate in the middle is fun. If money is no problem and you want to go for the experience, I recommend it. If you want great value and authentic Asian cuisine, I recommend Pho Hong.

Will never dine here again. The tasting menu for 2 adults and 2 kids was 150 dollars! The food wasnt even close to being worth that amount. The server never once came back to our table to ask if we would like our drinks refilled. We waited for over 1/2 hour for our last dish to come out (still thirsty) but we ended up getting it boxed up, because honestly, we couldnt wait to get out of there! While the staff did make things right by taking the kids portion of meal off bill and gave us a gift card to return, our impression of this place is tarnished. After years of hearing about Single Pebble and how wonderful it is, my 40th birthday dining experience was no fun at all.

I have been to the single pebble several times and it is generally a good experience, but after going there yesterday, I feel compelled to let people know how poor of an experience we had. Maybe it was because it was a Monday night or just an off night for our server, but the service was terrible. There were six of us and it wasnt very busy, but over 2 hours, we were only checked on once by our server. We were never asked how our meal was, the food was very slow to arrive (we just had them box our last two plates), and our table was slow to be cleared. I dont think we were the only table receiving this poor service either. Too bad because the food is very good.

We had a lunch tasting menu. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. Amazing dishes for a very reasonable price. We heard the same menu is available at dinner, but its a bit more expensive. For lunch it felt like a feast of 11 dishes. Each dish big enough to ve considered a single portion, so between two people we where absolutely stuffed by the end of it. It is $17 at lunch and $38 for dinner. Knowing this I would still go for dinner, the food was that good. The staff where excelent. Every one was friendly and talkative. We got some good tips as to where to go in town. 11/5 stars. Perfect.
