Its seems like I am always a glutton for punishment, trying Red Robin in ANY location is always an epic failure. This restaurant was absolutely an epic fail on understanding that the customer is in the establishment for service, and that the business isnt just for them to hang out. When we came in, the host was writing something and just stared blankly at us. I asked if there is open seating in the bar, "sure go ahead" she replied. We went into the bar area, where three employees were hanging around the bar. We sat, and sat and sat. The host did not follow us in with menus, nor did anyone greet us or bring menus. 6 minutes and 25 seconds later, yes I timed it, a server came to ask if we were ready. We informed her that we didnt even have menus. She went to get them and took our drink order. This was a Saturday before 3pm so its not like it was super late or anything. Obviously there was a shift change coming up, I hope, as some employees were sitting and eating. Some were roaming around. The manager, a younger tall guy with dark hair, made sure he high-fived or "whats up" every employee in the bar. Another employee was looking for the bartender to make a drink order, another manager told him she could tell him how to make it but she couldnt make it because she wasnt clocked in. No less than 8 employees were either sitting at the bar, the table behind us or roamed around the bar area. The manager, I think it may have been Josh or Justin, definitely is friendly with all his employees- but it was extremely unprofessional that no greet, no silverware, no menus or no interaction occurred but this guy could interact with the employees like it was his living room. The managers friendly skills could be used on the floor and not employee relations. Our server was ok. She seemed nervous, as it was obvious we were upset. She was friendly and efficient once we finally got started. Harley, was very much on her own. There were several tables and she seemed to be the only server in the bar. Maybe some training would be good for the host and manger to help in the bar area.......... We were almost done when we had the joy of overhearing the manager reprimand an employee. It was done at a bar table, after asking some of the other employees to go away. He lead with "your know your awesome, but you have been unreliable." The fact that the manger had this talk, in the bar, within earshot was so unprofessional and is borderline illegal with privacy issues. It is very apparent that this guy likes to be everyones friend and lacks the management training. I hope the girl became more reliable, showed up for her shifts and that all the "crazy stuff in her life" get better. The managers words- not hers. There was no Ziosk at this location and when we asked if they participated in the Red Robin rewards, the server said "um I dont know". Another employee, sitting at the table behind us getting ready to eat, said "no we are a corporate store, we dont do that". So to recap, food was good, server was ok, the rest of the staff has absolutely no idea that a customer exists. The managers are definitely oblivious to the fact that customers are around. I would hope that there was a pre-shift meeting at three, and that the bar table is not the regular hang out for staff. It is very inappropriate that during our entire meal multiple employees and mangers act like it is their living room. The ironic part- is that we went here with a gift card from a bad experience from a Red Robin in California and were told we couldnt use it because they werent a franchise store but a corporate store. Yeah...um ...ok

ordered some lunch to go, they said it will 10-15 min. no problem. I was a little late to leave, so i got there about 25 min after i had placed the order, thinking for sure it would be done. to my surprise they said it would be a few min, i then waited about 10 min for someone to simply swipe my card, which blew my mind being there were probably more waiters then customer in the restaurant, most of them hanging out at the bar talking over the top of me, felt like they were annoyed that i caused them an inconvenience by walking into their little circle. Then waited another 20 min for the food to finally come out. so at this point its almost been an hour since ive placed the order. the stupid part is it was probably done for quite a while, got back to work, literally down the street and everything was cold, the burgers were slightly warm, but they had sat for so long that the buns had turned into baby food it was so squishy. i asked the guy at the counter for extra fries since theyre bottomless and this was to go, he said, ya we fill the to go boxes. between the 3 of us we averaged 12 fries in each box. wtf. also we got the mac n cheese tavern burger thing, aside from needing a spoon to eat them, the mac n cheese part consisted of like 5 bare noodles between the patty with no cheese sauce. i usually love red robin, but i will probably never go back to this location. edit: my boss wanted me to edit this, he asked for bacon on his burger, all he ask for is that next time the bacon is cooked before they put it on the burger.. also why im on here again. whoever that creepy meth-head waiter is needs to be fired, hes old and creepy, told me he was on break but kept walking around the floor almost annoyed at me for being in his way, he also charged a few other waiters like he wanted to fight but then would laugh about it and then he went behind the bar and drank out of the chocolate milk jug!!!! are you f#$&$#! serious?! Which the chocolate milk was western family (smiths generic brand) by the way, because thats what i expect when i go to a sit down restaurant. This establishment is joke and needs to be shut down or put under new management soon!! it would be very convenient for my coworkers and I to eat here regularly but until something is done we will never step in there

Very unimpressed with todays visit. After reviewing the menu and ordering our food, my wife and friend decided to order the current promotion which was a raspberry puree & lemonade cocktail served in a patriotic can/glass which could be kept as a souvenir. We clarified with our waitress that this $7 drink included the novelty cup which we were assured it did. When the drink arrived it was all but full of ice and maybe 3.5oz. of actual liquid which was quickly consumed while I enjoyed my 16oz. $4 beer. After consuming our meal, completing payment & tip we proceeded to leave with our novelty glasses. We made it nearly 60yds to our vehicle before being hollered at by who I would presume was a shift manager. He loudly informed us that we had not paid for the glasses and were essentially stealing, in front of strangers. We kindly replied that we had clarified with the waitress regarding the glasses and asked where the misunderstanding was. He informed us that the glasses were an additional $5 if you wanted to keep them and not included as we had been told. So we provided the glasses back as they were a total gimmick (fun butstill a gimmick) and not worth the $12 total charge for a novelty item and 3.5oz.of watered down cocktail. The point of this review is that the service and food were okay, but the handling of a situation created by their staff was handled in a less than appropriate manner. If the staff had not failed to give us the wrong information or the manager had approached to speak in an appropriate tone instead of announcing his assumption to the general public that we had intentionally tried to short change this chain restuarant then I would be writing a very different review and making a phone call to applaud his handling of the situation. We unfortuantely spent about $55 there for lunch which would have been better spent elsewhere. Moral: Dont spend your time or money here, go somewhere you will be appreciated and spoken with instead of misinformed and hollered at.
