We used to go to the Magues in Boerne. We also have gone to the one in Bulverde for 8+ years. They actually used to be ok. Now the service is bad and so is the food. If you order bean and cheese nachos, it is not unreasonable to expect beans and cheese on every chip. If you order bean and cheese and guacamole nachos, you actually get 6 bean and cheese nachos and 6 bean and cheese nachos with a little bit of guacamole. When asked if that was the normal amount, the waitress said was "oh thats the way we do it, we just dab a little on". Huh? The tacos were also lame and small. A different girl at the register had the same answer when we complained. We normally tip 20 to 25 percent, but "just dabbed a little bit on". We brought a very large group here a year ago and had a bad experience. We thought we might give them another chance. We are done. Dont bother.

Great quality and taste; clean kitchen and restrooms; good service... Long: I dont understand the negative reviews. Was driving from New Braunfels, TX to El Paso, TX and we were hungry and not in the mood for typical fast food at around 1pm on Presidents Day. Saw lots of cars and stopped. One waitress was not very friendly, but the owners daughter was the one who helped us. The service was great. The tacos and gorditas were outstanding. Crunchy and flaky at the same time. Fresh ingredients. Looked in the kitchen then visited the restroom. Both were clean and organized. Based on this one visit, I recommend Magues Cafe.

Ordered tripas extra crispy and was so looking forward to sinking my teeth into my tasty crunchy tripas, but when it arrived at the table, it was soft, stinky and flavorless. I asked if i could return and get an extra crispy since that is how i ordered it. I was told, it will only burn. In my years of dealing with customer service, this is the worse. Pico de gallo wasnt even fresh nor good tasting. Our first and last time here, will never recommend to anyone.

Very disappointed. Ate here about a month ago and the food was really good. Today not so much. Limited choices for breakfast, settled for tacos and a chalupa. Chorizo&Egg with no chorizo and the eggs t tasted burnt. Piccadillo was good but not grand. Carne Guisada was too much tomato or ketchup (at least thats what it tasted like). Bean& Cheese chalupa was the best part, but then again its hard to screw them up.

The food is good, but they are hardly ever open. They are only open 3 nights a week. It makes it tough to have Mexican food for dinner when this is one of the few Mexican restaurants in the area. Customer service isnt the best. The employees are always bored and act like they would rather be doing anything else. This is hard to fathom when you consider that they only have to work 3 nights a week...

We have been bulverdians for a long time. And Ive eaten here at least 50 times. But today was my last time. Service has been getting worse and worse. Almost nobody smiles. Food has gone south. And theres hardly any customers.... it wont be long folks. Sad to say but they have recd my last dollar Period!

Dont bother eating here! My sister threw up before I could finish my beer. We would have been better off throwing the food straight in the toilet. I didnt dare eat my tacos. If I could give them zero stars I would. I recommend going to the H.E.B across the street and making you own lunch!

This is a great lunch location - $6.95 for chicken fajitas is a deal. All the food we had was fresh and delicious. The service is very fast and attentive. If youre looking for a quick spot for a meal at reasonably prices, you cant go wrong here.

A favorite spot if mine for great breakfast tacos. Tortillas are homemade and are always warm and fresh. Taco options are unlimited. Create your own if youd like. Coffee is great and always served hot!
