Being from the Rio Grande Valley (Mission, Tx) i am used to eating truely authentic mexican food. This place is the absolute best i have ever eaten. I ate the cheese enchiladas and they were the best! Just like back home. They use the white corn tortillas and american cheese, not this San Antonio style enchiladas with the red tortillas and cheddar cheese, yuck!!! The rice was perfect and so were the refried beans. I live about 30 minutes away from this location and it is so worth driving over here to come have breakfast, lunch or dinner. My grandmother who lives 5 minutes from there says they have awesome breakfast tacos... and she is from Mexico and cooks so well. She should know what real mexican food is like and she truely reccommends this place. She has visited other locations but says that they dont compare to this one. Come and experience the best "hole in the wall" in San Antonio!

Having just moved here from SoCal, and being used to abundant and varied choice for excellent, authentic Mexican food, I at first despaired as I explored the city. Then I found this place! Heaven! Its authentic (whenever I go, its serving almost entirely Mexicans, and mostly families, at that!), it doesnt waste a penny on useless "decor", the hostess (there seems to be just the one, which I like, since it indicates that this is a family-run place, and its nice to be recognized when I come in), and the prices are amazing. Their chilis rellenos rival anything I had back home, and absolutely everything has the "right taste" for me. The fact that its about a mile and a half from my house is just the cherry (or should I say the jalapenos?) on top!

The only reason Im giving this 3 stars is because of the service. I feel like if I would have come during rush hours the service would have been better and a 5 star would have been given. The server was friendly and greeted me the food was brought up quickly however after my food was served the server never came to check up on me. She was too busy looking at her phone to notice I needed service. There were only two people dining during this time.

Wow, what a joke. This frakin place really annoyed me...call Monday, yes Amex accepted and was told to call Tuesday to pre-order our team lunch for about 50 ppl. Called Tuesday, told to come in...at restaurant and was told to come back next day at 6am...really? Just got off the phone a few hours ago! Customer service should be better! Never going here again or will definitely let our team know.

Went for breakfast specials bean & chorizo was watered down & taste horrible. And I LOVE bean & chorizo. Never tasted one I couldnt eat, i couldnt eat this one. Omelet was very poorly made. No customer service. Use to be a good place havent been in a few months not the same at all. ☹

Experience was sad. Ordered the breakfast specials. The food was horrible. Management was unconcerned. Waitress was okay. Had not been here in a long time. This is not at all what I experienced in the past.

Breakfast is....meh. Tacos are overstuffed....unless you like that sort of thing. but the eggs in the tacos are always old and rubbery tasting. Ranchero sauce is like...canned tomatoes...I think its pre-made.

The barbacoa was dry came on a Tuesday almost like it was from the weekend waitress was on the verge of rude like the flour tortillas tasted home made. Same texmex food can find better in the same area.

Generous portions even better prices. Carne Guisada is some of the best tasting, biggest chunks of pure beef, no fat. Tortas, Jalisco Burritos and the mini tacos asadas are legit.
