L&L Hawaiian is an experience all of its own. Authentic Hawaiian food that highlights the Asian influences Hawaii has experienced. The item that has been highlighted and bought me in for the first time was the ramen burger. Its basically a burger patty with teriyaki sauce and green onion. Instead of being sandwiched between bread its between two ramen patties, made fresh in the kitchen. They basically take cooked ramen noodles, plate them in a round mold, press them on the grill and cook them until they make soft patty that is used as a bun. Its a unique item Ive only seen at L&L and only found online at a handfull of places. Ive tried the ribs, burgers, masubi, and katsu, and everything has been great. My only criticism would be that the fries could be better, which seem to be frozen crinkle cut fries) other than that, the menu does not disappoint. Other items on the menu include some classic Hawaiian favorites. (Loco Moco, Kahlua Pork, & Spam Masubi (sushi)). The restaurant also offers some items that are available as daily specials until they run out. The food is good, the prices fair. The only downside is that this place is busy at lunch. You should prepare to spend an hour minimum to eat here. It might be wise to order ahead if your crunched for time. The avergae wait at lunch during the week is about 30-40 minutes to get your food. You see a variety of patrons visiting this location, for some its a taste of home, for others its a unique dining experience, and it seems to be popular with the military as well. The staff is always friendly greeting you as you come in, and leave.. "Aloha"

Service was great. My issue is Ive had the pleasure of other l&ls and there are some things that arent as good. 1. They dont lightly grill the cabbage the put in the box to soak up the marinade. Thats part of the meal and here it was a couple raw cabbage scraps in the bottom, no extra juice in the box. 2. Black pepper doesnt belong in Hawaiian cuisine. That is a Chinese and Korean flavor. It really was overpowering and made it taste like pepper steak, not teriyaki. Plus my beef was cooked to jerky. 3. The beef on the "teriyaki beef" plate is one cheap ass cut. It has a seam like a blade steak. Its not pull apart at all, like other locations. This is made worse by the fact you have to use plastic cutlery. 4. Everything on the menu is 2-3$ more than other locations. For two people better plan on more than 30$ for lunch. 5. Unsweetened tea was powder mix. Not a big deal unless you drink tea like I do. Overall, wont make the trek back down. Such a shame. I usually love l&l. Oh well.

I guess I chose the wrong thing to eat but their food wasnt what I expected it to be. I was defiantly under seasoned and bland...and I love bland food its what I grew up eating was bland food cause my dad couldnt eat a lot food that had seasoning or salt but those food tasted like nothing. Postives was the side macaroni type salad that was good and the roll with rice and spam was good but I ended up eating the loco moco and it wasnt that great. My husband had bought a few things to try but he got this type of pork bowl and said he kind of liked it but when I ate it all it tasted like was pork...watered down like it was cooked in water. Overall I will go again...maybe not in a rush to go back... but I have to be really careful what I pick cause not all their food is good.

Whenever I get a craving for some ono kine grindz, I love going to L&L. Especially on the weekends with the lau lau plate. If only they had a lot of poi and squid luau, but thats neither here nor there. Drive is kind of far for me but I still try to make it at least once a month. I did try the saimin the other day too and it was actually better than I was expecting ( Shiges was my go to place in Wahiawa). My friends enjoy the grilled chicken and the katsu so it must be good as well. Obviously the Hawaiian music with the food just makes everything that much better!

I love this L & L. The reception is warm, Freindly hard not to smile. My experience with the chefs skilled grill team was one of awe. Cyrus, hats off to you brotha. Your the heart thats keeps the blood pumping. Management is strict, but all heart. The menu is a surprise as each dish is well proportioned and each dish is a wonder. Tasty doesnt begin to describe the flavors L&L serves. In all, this place is one big family. And we as customers cant help but feel the love and warmth as we are treated as such.

Very unique to Texas cuisine. I recommend the mix grill plate or the chicken katsu with extra katsu sauce and double white rice. The chicken katsu is a large order of chicke cut into pieces that has a panko style breading. The order fills up a to go box and will definitely fill you up. On weekends they serve even more traditional Hawaiian dishes. Highly recommend for someone wanting a different style cuisine. The restaurant has always been extremely clean and well kept on every visit.

We heard on a radio ad about this restaurant and went to ck it out last week. It was awesome from minute we walked in. We were greeted so warmly, service was great! We walked in for a meal and walked out with a friendship. My husband had L&L Hawaiian BBQ Mix and the servings were so hearty. The meat was so flavorful and tender. It was amazing. I had the Chicken Katsu and again hearty portions and delicious. We have found a new favorite and will return. Pricing was very reasonable too.

I had a birthday event here, and the manager, Vinny, was extremely accommodating and friendly!! Since the inside is relatively small (as it is more of a fast-food type order/eat style) and I had about 25 people, she let us occupy the back patio area. She and the whole staff made us feel so welcome! I can not say enough good things about the staff. Everyone who came loved the environment, had alot of fun and really enjoyed the food. I got some real ramen, and I was not disappointed!

Great place to talk story, eat great grinds, and enjoy the Hawaiian music. You dont find great customer service like this at too many places. This still has that Hawaiian country feel, such as greeting you with "Aloha, can I help you and always the Mahalo (thank you) when the order is taken." We enjoy our Sunday lunches here frequently! If youre military or military retired, make sure you show your military ID for 10% off the meal ticket! Thank you Auntie Sarah!

Food is okay. Honestly under seasoned but this may be the norm for this type of food? Had pork over rice. Tasted like pulled pork without much smoke flavor. Really could use a sauce of some type. There are other menu items that may be spicier . Food is heavily Japanese influenced rather than Polynesian. As such other Japanese places are superior. It does taste different than all the fast food places in the area but prices are high for what you get on most items.
