Cleanliness: The plates had left over food on them and the silverware looked as if it had been cleaned in cold dirty water. The walls and floor are is desperate need of a spring cleaning. Price: Prices are excellent. Between $7.75 to $10 for a Sunday dinner. Food: The combination lo-mein was a precooked meal that was heated up. Also it consisted of mostly chicken with beef and shrimp here and there. The broccoli while heated still was refrigerator cold in the middle. The Gin Special Shrimp was cooked fresh and was the only thing that tasted good While the prices are right its not enough to visit this establishment given all the options that San Antonio has to offer.

This was my first time eating here, and I was quite underwhelmed with the food I received. It wasnt bad, it just wasnt as good as Ive had elsewhere. I had the sweet & sour chicken - it was overcooked and chewy. My co-worker and my wife both had the lemon chicken, which was also overcooked. The fried rice was good, as well as the crab rangoons my wife had, but the egg rolls were also sub-par. I may give this restaurant another shot in the future, and try another dish, but todays trip was just ok. The prices are what will get me to come back. $5 lunch specials with a drink is definitely an amazing price.

Ive been coming here for as long as I can remember. The staff is fantastic. Theyre always so kind and friendly. The ten treasure soup is a family staple. Weve been ordering it since I used to split the giant bowl with my siblings. Its my favorite dish. My husband and I always add an order of combination fried rice noodles. Theyre amazing. Perfectly seasoned, not too heavy. My husband goes back and forth between orange chicken and chicken broccoli. Ive never been disappointed.

I had the Beef Noodle Soup. This is an authentic Chinese dish and I will give it a 4 out of 5. It is pretty good. My daughter had the Kong Pao chicken lunch special and it was good as well. The lunch special cost around $5.00 and it is a great value. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We are very pleased and have no complaint. I will try some of their other authentic dishes in the future.

The Mexican server there gave me an "extra" crab Rangoon and when I finally bit into it, she was starting laughing with her co workers because she KNEW she gave me a rotten one.. my 2 year old couldve been sick had I served it to him.. I let the cashier know and he didnt seem to care. I WAS a regular because of the prices but honestly that place needs alot of cleaning and better customer service..

If you are seeking a relaxed and personal atmosphere, then this is your place. Its practically hidden from the highways and worth the find. Friendly folks, family owned and their food is excellent! Better by far than the mainstream restaurants because they add a more personal element to the dining experience.

GREAT food and a GREAT price! The location needs some repair, but if you dont look at the building and just taste the food, youre going to be very impressed. Be aware: During lunch, you can get a great lunch combination for about $7, but during dinner they serve family style.

In my opinion, the best dishes from Gins are beef noodle soup, fried rice noodles, fried or steamed dumplings, ma po tofu and stir fry eggplant. Decor can use some updating but its a nice neighborhood restaurant. Ice tea here is extremely watered down.

I eat at Gins all the time. Its good, cheap, and the service is laudable. They are super friendly. As long as I dont go during peak hours, I get my food quickly. I almost always get beef with broccoli and almost always is amazing.

Authentic family Chinese food restaurant. Delicious food! Try the pan fried dumplings, hot sour soup, kung po shrimp, ma po tofu, and chicken with almonds. Never disappoints, always consistently fresh and delicious food.
