I would have to echo Angelicas sentiments. My girlfriend and I stopped by the DE ZAVALA location for a late lunch last Sunday, and pretty much everything went wrong. Read below for a harrowing tale of what can happen when chronic inefficiency, smug managerial incompetence, and general workplace apathy converge to produce a dining experience slightly more pleasurable than slow castration! The employee who took our orders was unfamiliar with even the most basic order-taking functions; ordering our food took nearly 5 minutes. Ultimately, she had to ask the smug-faced manager for help inputting our orders. Maybe she was new though, no worries. My girlfriend ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad, and I ordered a Club Mex sandwich on a sourdough bagel. After an excessively long wait considering there were no other orders (roughly 10 minutes), we were amazed to find that almost NOTHING we ordered was correct. Mr girlfriends CAESAR salad was a box with mixed greens, no bagel croutons, and no caesar dressing. Even a drooling reprobate knows that this does not constitute a caesar salad. When we asked for Caesar dressing, the employees behind the counter had to go on a minutes-long scavenger hunt to find some; they had instinctively given us Ranch. Maybe we wouldnt know the difference, right? Additionally, they forgot the hummus she had asked for with her toasted whole wheat bagel. This required another trip to the counter. My Club Mex was almost entirely wrong; the only part that was right was the turkey and the pepper jack cheese. I had ordered it on a sourdough bagel and got a plain bagel. The bacon was left off. The ancho mayo, arguably the most crucial component of a Club Mex, was forgotten. The employee had simply used plain mayo. Again, I thought it was an honest mistake. I took my food back up to the counter and asked specifically for some Ancho mayo in a cup. They gave me another cup of plain white mayo! I should mention that while we were sitting, an elderly gentleman came in and asked if they had any pumpernickel. The manager told him that they were out. When the man asked why there was never any pumpernickel when he came in, the manager replied, I kid you not, "You always come in at the wrong time!". I have NEVER heard a manager act so rudely to a customer in my life, and Im sure this man would have enjoyed punching the smarmy prematurely-balding douchenozzle right in his condescending face. We decided that further requests would do no good, and we finished our meal and departed. The only acknowledgement we ever got from the manager was when we left, telling us to "have a nice day". After cavalierly observing our problems with our orders and his hourly employees inability to prepare basic menu items with passive absence of concern, I am certain this was genuine. In summation, please give this location your business if you enjoy long waits, inaccurate orders, and being treated like a leper by sneering mental midgets for whom the distinction of "shift leader" marks the pinnacle of their earthly pursuits.

The bagels are actually not too bad, depending on what you get the price seems quite reasonable although the staff cant seem to cut a bagel in half (all of them must have missed the maths classes where they taught fractions as not one of them knows what a half looks like!) This brings me in to the main point of the rating. The staff! I dont think you could actually meet a more smug group of individuals with the nastiest of attitudes. Understand you face the public, some of whom are observing the way you interact with customers. To me it seems like as long as you are a "regular" you get the odd smile and a greeted with something akin to what youd expect to hear in any normal circumstance. I have stood in the queue and directly observed these cretins size up the person in front of them (what, looking for the label on their clothings? Are they "in fashion" or other superficial rating) and speak to them accordingly. I know full well what this looks like so no point in staff pretending they dont do it. The attitude is markedly different and some customers are really treated like dimwits. Its disgusting to watch. I have given the place the benefit of the doubt on more than one occasion thinking its a staff training need that will be picked up because if I were those customers treated that way I would have complained. Trust me if Im spoken to in such a way the staff better be ready for a volley of verbal abuse back as I wont be so timid as the people they have been picking on so far. Ill be quite satisfied to wipe those smug smiles off their faces and with it that air of superiority that seems to follow this group around.

I came here in the morning. Never been here before and didnt know how the line works. So I was standing in the line where you pay not where you order and none of the stupid workers opened their mouth and told me I need to order at the other register I just had to figure it out and cut in front of the guy who was nice about it cause I had been waiting. Then I told the girl put my cream cheese on the side because I dont like warm cream cheese on my bagels. That way I could let it cool off before I put cream cheese on it. Nope put it right on the bagel and I needed to get to work so I dealt with it. The ice coffee wasnt the best. It was ok but not the best. I got an extra shot in it so it did what I wanted it to do. So thats about it for my experience.

STAY AWAY TRUST ME. This place is disgusting not clean. I took a picture but cant post would have loved to share and show you where you are spending your bucks at. My first and last vist to this place they were under staffed and manger seem to have lost his mind and control of the situation and closed the store completely spoke to me rudely and showed lack of professional ethic towards his team mates and not to mention the dress code wow the manger had a shirt full of cat hair and shoes that were like fingers. Really??? Seriously people were waiting over 30 minutes for their food. I just got my money back. They all need serious training.... just saying really stay away....

Delish! I love this shop and have taken to walking there with my kids on Sunday mornings, we live really close by. The workers are always super friendly and their bagels are the best in town, to me at least; I have tried them all and Einsteins is my favorite, my kids love them too. The only drawback is that this location gets very PACKED on Sunday mornings and sometimes there is a line out the door, but because everything, including the coffee, is so good, it is worth the long wait! Also, you have to get there early before they run out of the best kinds!

Ive been to this location on three separate times during Saturday and Sunday mornings. Service was quick concidering the morning rush. Fresh bagels, fresh ingredients. Average coffee (but it gets the job done). Only issue is they have two separate lines; one to order and one to pay. I figured this out because I read up on the place before going, but every time I was there people often stood in the wrong line to order, and I didnt see any signs to direct customers.
