After a dinner that left quite a bit to be desired, I asked my wife what she liked about the meal. "The bread?" was her reply. I told her I thought the ceiling was pretty cool, and we were able to agree on one plus of the restaurant. The water tasted like lake water, just like the water from a lot of Rockwall / Rowlett restaurants, so it started out average. We had the crab claws appetizer. It came in about two gallons of sauce, which had spilled all over the plate on which it was served. We soon learned it was drowning in sauce to hide the horrible fishy taste of the crab claws. Strike one I made eye contact with the server as she walked off without giving us plates for the crab claws. My eyes showed distress, she kept walking. Strike two. My prima vera pasta seemed overcooked, and was slothered in too much marinara. My wifes combo platter also missed the mark. Strike three. They had a chance to salvage some part of the horrible meal with the tiramisu on the menu. when that failed, we officially gave up on this place. Additionally, there were four chairs, but only two place settings. The two were facing the wall, and the hostess just bailed on us, putting us facing the wall. Oh well. There was a drink ring where the previous diners water left its mark. Strike four? Oh well. Well have to hope for another Italian restaurant close to The Shores. Shoot - I just forgot! This drives my wife crazy: They put the butter in with the bread. Unsanitary I guess.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We live in Rowlett and drove past this place for a long time, finally decided to give it a try. Lets see, we walked in at 6:30pm on a Saturday night and there were only 4 occupied tables including us. We ordered dinner and it TOOK 1 HOUR. I ordered the meat lasagna, my wife ordered fetticcini alfredo. ONLY 4 TABLES AND IT TOOK 1 HOUR. Im Italian, I make my own sauce and meatballs. I only say that so that you will know that i know something about what good Italian food should taste like. The lasagna was awful, a few layers of cheese, sauce and the meat........ well, I couldnt find any. The lasagna was little more than 1" tall. Had no significant taste at all. The fettuccine looked like SOUP with noodles. We both took only a few bites and put our forks down and called the waitress over to express our displeasure with everything. They ended up asking for us to pay for the salad and drinks, bad form I say for a meal that bad. The owners wife came to us and after hearing our complaint defended her food and said that this is the way they make it. Yikes !!!! Folks, there is a reason this place is nearly EMPTY at 6:30pm on a Saturday night, these people dont know what good food is, pure and simple. SAVE TIME AND MONEY AND GO ANYWHERE ELSE, better food can be found at Wendys down the road.

was hopeful and yet sorely disappointed. I came to this website to see if I was crazy or if this restaurant is really as awful as I just experienced. I never write reviews for ANYTHING, but now feel compelled. It seems people either love this place or hate it. I now know from trying the restaurant and reading these posts that if you know and appreciate Italian food, you will hate this restaurant. If you havent ever even had an Italian TV dinner, you might like it. After driving past this place for years and wanting to try it , we did...It was the worst dining experience ever for us. We were shocked. The ambiance was ok, yet empty. That was the first concern since it was 7:30 PM on Friday night. The spoon on the table had more personality than the staff. I can ditto the review about the lasagna. it looked like someone had tossed the lasagna in a blender and poured it on the plate. The only taste was that of canned tomato sauce. The Veal Marsala was worse than spaghettios and was a plate of spaghetti in which we had to hunt for veal. We tried to eat since we came in hungry and commited, but soon stopped realizing we would be ill if we continued. And, we left with plates barely touched. I recommend avoiding this restaurant.

I am surprised at some of the bad reviews here, these complainers obviously dont get out much and by the looks of it some are free loaders complaining about the food to get out of paying the bill, unforunate for restaurant owners and not uncommon for these type of losers to darken their doorstep. Heres the HONEST scoop.....Ive been in the best of Italian restaurants throughout the metroplex and Tatianos is now on top of my list. The restaurant is beautiful, very clean, great atmosphere/music, great service, prices are incredibly cheap, wine and cocktail selections were excellent, and of course the best Italian food Ive ever had!!! Our salads were served within 10 minutes, and entrees were served shortly after we finished our salads, perfect timing and they paid attention. They dont get the credit they deserve. If this restaurant was in a more upscale restaurant area as some in Dallas people would be lined up to get in! I could have stayed there for hours and enjoyed every minute of it and will definitely recommend it to all our friends and family!! Its Rowletts best kept secret!!

Ate here for the first time with my wife. We were really looking forward to trying it. When the waiter took my wifes water to refill it, he didnt come back for ten minutes. The restaurant was probably two-thirds empty, so its not like he was slammed. I would understand if he was. Her meal also came with a side salad. When asked if she would like garlic toast on the side, she said yes. When the check came out, we were charged $4.95 for the bread. We ordered one simple entree each. As empty as it was, it shouldnt have taken an entire hour to get the food out to us, and when the waiter refilled my sweet tea, he did it with unsweet. It was a level of carelessness that contributed to a negative experience. Adding to this disappointment, the food was definitely not worth the wait. I dont normally leave online reviews. Ever. Unfortunately, our service was so poor and so incompetent that I felt compelled. We really wanted to like this place--the menu looked decent and its in a nice building. It looked so promising. Its a real shame that we wont be going back.

I really wanted to like this place as a local, family owned restaurant. First of all it is beautiful, clean, and classy on the inside. Our waiter was nice, the service was just fine, and the prices are fair. The food, however, was sub-par Italian. Our table got four different pasta dishes with four salads. Each salad was completely drowned in dressing, but tasted good after some rearrangement. All four pasta dishes were completely drowned in watery tomato or Alfredo sauce. The soggy pasta was essentially soaking in a pool of sauce that filled the entire dish. This made it hard to eat because nothing would stay on your fork. The sauce was also kind of bland.. Like canned spaggetio sauce but much thinner. I dont know if we ordered the wrong thing here, but simple pasta is something thats difficult to screw up in your own home kitchen. If we ever come back here, I might try a seafood dish like some of the other reviews suggest.. But I might also choose Olive garden instead.
