Came here for an early lunch one day with my girlfriend to show her one of the many wondrous culinary hotspots that are located in the heart of Plano, TX (that was sarcasm, just fyi). Sarcasm aside for the greater Plano area, Kor-BQ is actually pretty good, and I absolutely recommend coming here for lunch! Their most popular items are probably their bulgogi tacos (which are made in the form of 3 street tacos) and their rice bowls, and consequently, being the mainstream guy I am, those are the items I usually get when I come for lunch. This particular outing, my girlfriend and I decided to get a little bit of everything to sample and try out, so we ended up trying the new Kor-BQ burger + bulgogi, a spicy korean pork rice bowl, and a bulgogi egg roll. Quite honestly, the burger by itself is enormous enough to fill you up unless youre a professional athlete and consume an inordinate amount of calories a day. And even then, when you throw on the side of fries that they offer (for free! as per the promotion), you might only need two. Im no expert when it comes to weighing meats or anything, but if I had to guess, Id say the burger was a good 1/3 lb. of beef -- at least. Add the bulgogi, the fried onion, and the cheese -- and youve got yourself a real Texas sized meal (I think they might have even thrown an egg in there). I thought the patty was a little overcooked, but you hardly can even tell when everything else is put together. The fries arent out of your mind amazing, but theyre better than your run of the mill sliced potatoes. The rice bowl is also really good. Its packed with rice (obviously), kimchi, glass noodle, bulgogi (or whatever meat you chose), and a fried egg. I believe the fried egg is extra buck or something, but its totally worth it. They also have this little container of spicy sauce that you should definitely throw into the bowl even if the tamest of spices cause you to sprint for the fire hydrant. Its got a sweet/spicy kick to it that I think really goes well. So suck it up. The egg roll... meh. Pass. Its good, but not that good. Concentrate all eating power on the good stuff. Theres not a whole lot of seating around the area, so you may have to take it to go (which theyre totally cool with), but all in all, its a nice little place tucked into a strip mall. Its a shame that its not in a better location, cuz I think the quality of food they put out would definitely drive more traffic if only people knew about it Also, I know my review says 3 stars, but its really a 3.5 star rating. Yelp, when are you gonna let us put 3.5 star reviews?!

Really liked this place, Ill definitely be back and will recommend it to just about anyone. I was absolutely impressed with their ability to cook everything with an attention to detail thats otherwise lost on places like this and to me, thats what sets this place apart. The Kor BQ burger comes with fries that rival that of McDonalds and in a portion that you feel gratified but not guilty about (McDonalds, in my and many others eyes, set the golden standard for fries so, I regard this as one of the only compliments that can be given by likening a place to McDs). They were cooked to perfection: crispy but not quite crunchy and are served with a house-made fry sauce. The flavor profile of the burger is phenomenal. Bulgogi with a light layer of kimchi, sriracha mayo...Amazing. Add to that some onion rings, which again, were cooked to perfection. Like I said, the attention to detail here is impressive for the food being served and while most places could get away with cramming crappy, overcooked onion rings, fried in an oil so old it imparts a taste reminiscent of the La Brea tar pits on their burger and still, their patrons will come screaming back for more; this is not one of those places and I am not one of those patrons. I will definitely try this burger with the fried egg next time though. I think the egg will help to balance out the sweetness of the bulgogi just a touch and marry the kimchi to the rest of the burger.

To put it somewhat succinctly- I first went to Kor-BQ in high school and then again most recently which was about 6 or 7 years later. Did I regret either experience? No. Did I regret the gap between visits? Also no. All of that to say the food is decent but I wouldnt ever crave it or have to go on any occasion. What they have going for them is their great prices ($6.50 for rice bowl?!) and great service. I came in with about 8 people and since the space is small I was content with sitting at different tables but the workers (owners?) suggested us to move the tables around. When we left they insisted on rearranging it themselves when we started to move it back. So the value and service are standout to me, which I prioritize fairly highly in my overall food experience. I ordered the bulgogi (beef) rice bowl and the dweji (pork) fries. I liked the food but it just didnt strike me as amazing because Ive had better Korean fusion rice bowls and kimchi fries elsewhere. The people I was with liked the food well enough, plus its in close proximity to shops like Fat Straws and Willowbend mall as well. When in a pinch either in regards to money or the desire for something Korean inspired I wouldnt mind going again, but I wouldnt cry myself to sleep if it were a while before I had the opportunity to go again. Good value, great service, average food. Still satisfied though :)

Absolutely amazing. The meats they offer are tender, seasoned well, an are very flavorful. Their vegetables are fresh and tasty. Their sauces are AMAZING. Ive been there a few times and I have had the kor-b fries and the sloppy sandwich(my favorite thing on their menu). I cannot recommend this place enough, the staff is very friendly and the food has such a great taste!

Food is incredible. Owners are cool. They will make virtually anything you want here. I just ate a sloppy joe with spicy pork , veggies, hash browns, fries, fried egg, and all kinds of other deliciousness. They also have traditional food such as a rice bowl or a taco. The owners are also super friendly and nice. Definitely recommend eating here. Give it a shot.

I love KOR-BQ so much! Everyone there is super friendly, the food is out of this world, and the restaurant is really clean and a great place to sit down and relax. When you go, and you should as soon as possible. Get the SOS burger with bulgogi and fried egg! Its hands down my favorite. They recently renamed it the "sloppy w/ fries"

Excellent food, short wait time, decently priced. First time there today, got the hotdog with dweji and kimchi, dog held together mostly (thing is LOADED). Just, some of the best fusion Ive ever had, will definitely go there again, maybe next time Ill eat a little less.... So stuffed...
