Absolutely LOVE this place for lunch. Its a small little store tucked away in the middle of a shopping center -- right between a questionable pharmaceutical compounding facility on the left, and a Pho joint on the right. The staff here is friendly, though they speak extremely limited English. Now would be a good time to bust out that Korean drama and learn a few basic phrases like: "Can I get more water?" "Ill have one of [insert food here], please!" Otherwise, be prepared to speak English with a Korean accent. It helps. Sort of. Anyway, the reason why I love Jin Mi so much is because of the following reasons: 1) They have a wicked lunch special that goes from 11pm-3pm Monday-Saturday, that recently expanded! 2) Its so darn cheap! $5 for an amazing meal! You get to choose from a lunch portion size of Seafood Tofu Soup, Beef Tofu Soup, Fried Rice, Fried Mackerel, and Spicy Sauteed Squid. (I apologize for not knowing the Korean names -- I just didnt want to butcher them). Ive had everything on their lunch special menu except for the Fried Rice, and everything else is spectacular. The Seafood Tofu Soup (Soonduboo?) is by far my favorite thing on that menu. They bring a boiling bowl of soup stocked with tofu, squid, shrimp, and a poached egg. Absolutely perfect for cold weather. It also comes with a bento box of rice and an assortment of sides. Definitely filling. This dish is absolutely delicious! The Beef Tofu Soup is similar to the above, except that it has pulled beef in it. I would have thought the beef would be overcooked, but boy, was I wrong. Absolutely spot on. Still tender and still flavorful. Well done, guys. Well done. Next up, Id get the Spicy Sauteed Squid. It comes in a bento with those side dishes, but the main dish is really whats worth writing about. The squid isnt too rubbery and is accompanied by an assortment of vegetables, all expertly flavored in their spicy (yet somehow kind of sweet) sauce. Love it. Lastly, the Fried Mackerel is very well fried. The skin is crispy without coming off as having an excess of oil. There are bones in the fish, so be careful. Though if you chew well enough, the little bones can be eaten. I think it adds a nice texture to the fish! Overall, for $5, you cant really go wrong. Better than going to the Wendys and getting a #3 combo, I can tell you that much. During the weekdays, this place fills up real quick, so get here early!

Im a sucker for the "korean" purple rice... so I was already excited for this place from the get go. The soft tofu soup w/seafood didnt disappoint -- bubbling hot goodness, mixture of shrimp and other seafood -- and silky smooth tofu + egg (+ $0.50). They dont offer different levels of spiciness, so you may have to ask for additional chili paste if it isnt spicy enough for you. I found the soup to be quite mild. The galbi was decent though most pieces were fairly fatty and didnt have much meat. The pieces that were meaty were very tender, and the marinade was sweet/savory. Lastly, the variety of the small dishes wasnt expansiveness but just enough to give you a sense of "hey this is a legit korean restaurant" - nothing too difficult to make but not all jarred pickled items either.

This place is my favorite korean place to go to. Their lunch special is only 5 dollars, but the food is delicious for that price. Ive been to a few Korean places that have comparable prices, but this is by far the best tasting one. The owner is very friendly, and theres always a good number of people there during lunch on weekdays. I just dont know why I didnt find out about jin mi earlier.

The food was delicious!! This was my first time eatting Korean food and I enjoyed every dish that we ordered. The staff was so nice and gave great advice on choices. Our waitress had a Great personality and made sure to check on us. Hands down the best asain food that I have had by far. I will be going back and definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends.

We asked for two small bowls, and even went up to them and asked for, but they didnt bring any to us. The small dishes never get refilled, and they are too busy to greet us. The waitress accidently poured the soup on my handbag and my back. They didnt offer anything. Its not really a pleasant experience.

Lots of wonderful Korean dishes here at affordable prices. One of my favorite places to stop in, especially for their soups in the winter. The short rib or bulgogi soups are my favorite. The staff here has always been very welcoming, even when we stop in near closing time. Highly recommend this place!

I called in for a carry-out. While paying for my Lunch, one of the employees asked if she could keep the change for "good luck" as I was the first customer of the day. I didnt understand her logic. I thought that was a bit brash and inconsiderate, but I let her. I gave her a $10 bill for a $7 lunch

My family had dinner there tonight. Its our first visit to this restaurant. The waitress was very unfriendly. We asked for a refill for one of the side dishes. The waitress was very rude about it and never brought us the refill. Food was ok but will never come back to this kind of service.

Ordered a soon tofu stew because it was on the lunch special. It was okay. I think maybe because it was mild and they didnt ask if I wanted it spicy. The side dishes were not memorable either which was a little sad for me. I think I prefer Dawon..

Overpriced and far-from-tasty food. Avoid on Sunday especially. Had to pay $40 for 3 crappy dishes. Just go to McDonalds for less than a half price and better food.

Drove a long way on a Saturday night and we got there at 9:45 but they were cosed. The website said open to 11 pm. Very disappointed.

Low to minimal decorations. The soondobu was delicious and cheap. They werent stingy with their complimentary side dishes either.

Always come here if we are in Dallas/Plano area. Decent price but delicious food. We usually order Galbi and Chap Chae. Yummy!

This place is for authentic, home cooked Korean meals. Perfect if you are looking for a cozy place for that.
