Short story - it gets three stars because, for the price, I was surprised at the quality of food and, frankly, the amount of protein offerings. First a disclaimer: I love Chinese food, but I have routinely been disappointed with Chinese buffets. It takes convincing or an unexpected state of whimsy to get me to try a Chinese buffet. In this case, it was the latter. Sushi - its not Sushi Sakana, or Sushi & Sake, or Sushi Robata, but it was clearly better than what I typically find at a Chinese buffet. How does it compare to another Sushi/Japanese buffet? Well, Osaka Sushi was absolutely better. So, yeah, its not the best and not the worst, but better than other Chinese buffet sushi I have had. I did not try the soups, but they had a nice selection (four I believe). But the price was stunningly low, around $10 for lunch, if I recall correctly. It was not good enough to get onto my list of regular lunch places, but I will likely be back to try it again and if you are a big fan of Chinese buffets, it might blow your socks off.

This is a typical Chinese Buffet with similar buffet menu. Their kitchen and bathroom drainages must not draining properly, and the back kitchen and bathroom ventilations are connected. The prices are reasonable for the lunch time. What I like most about this restaurant are that their salads are in individual bowl, which made each bowl fresh and clean. You dont have to worry about napkins here, because each table has napkin dispenser. If you dont like the Chinese menu, you can move to American dishes like pizza, fried potato, rolls, BBQ ribs, and etc.. I tried the pizza and fried catfish fillets. If you decided to eat fresh foods first, you should eat the cold menu first like sushi before moving toward hot and fried foods. Im sensitive to MSG so I stayed away from Chinese dishes or those with added MSG. I ate lot of fresh fruits and cut navel oranges. I loved their coffee cake dessert, which looked like chocolate brownies in the picture.

Dingy, bad food, overpriced. Ive been to a lot of "Asian" buffets. I love them! This one though... this one is bad. Like an exquisite care was taken to ensure that every food item was uniquely nasty. Heres a list of things I tried: Sushi: Slimy. Dont be distracted by the eel and shark sushi. I didnt even consider risking my gastric health on the miserable pile of lopped fish bits that was supposed to be sashimi. Egg rolls: Somehow managed to make the wrapping thick and bready. How do you even do that? Ice cream: Grainy, not creamy. No bowls available, so I had to eat it out of a stale cone. A little mass graveyard of fallen cones sat under the dispenser Orange chicken: Tangy and chewy, like the huge amount of sugar in the sauce finally gave up and candied itself. Crab rangoons: OK. Other stir fry selections: OK. Water: Something dark and suspicious floating in my cup, but tasted fine. The service was perfectly acceptable.

Everythings better here. The quality of the food is much better than other comparably priced buffets in the area, and the selection is great. They have sushi and many types of stir fry including some less common dishes like spicy pepper chicken and peking spicy pork. Even the crab rangoon was a step above. Everything was fresh, even on a random weeknight for dinner. Everything from fresh individual serving salads up to the deserts was so much better than Im used to in an asian buffet.

This place is an average Asian buffet. The main item that stands out to me is that they have sashimi which is not common for Asian buffets. I think its worth it to come here and eat a buffet of sashimi but not so much for the other dishes. Ive also stopped by for lunch which is $5.99 on the week days. The dishes during lunch are not replaced/refilled as often which result in over cooked/dried foods. Overall, if you like sashimi then i recommend coming here to get your sushi fix.

If you like really good Chinese food, do not waste your time with this place. I have been here two times and both times the food was cold. The only time the food is warm is when it first comes out of the kitchen. Their food does not have a lot of flavor. The sesame chicken looks good, but has no taste. Oh and one more thing, if you go on any holiday you will have to pay the Holiday Buffet price for lunch..... Very interesting!!!

Best Seafood and Sushi buffet Ive ever been to, nothing else like it in my opinion. They have a variety of sushi to choose from, very good crawfish, catfish, you name it they have it and its very good!! Hands down, the "place to go". I think the price ranges, went with a friend once at noon paid $25 for 2 and another time went for dinner around 8pm and paid $30 for 2. However its a very good sushi and seafood buffet.

About as.mediocre as it gets. Most of the supposedly hot food is room temp at best and ditto for the cold food. Crawfish and shrimp...room temp and tasteless.Sushi is a yawn. Just a waste of time if you want a decent meal. If you want to eat so much that your belly sticks out but dont care about decent quality food, here ya go! $25 for 2 adult dinners before tip...approx 6:30pm Thursday night

Went there for lunch. Not busy at all. The temperature in the restaurant was too warm. There was a Texas sized cockroach walking across the floor by the buffet. When I told the worker there what I just saw, she acted like it was no big deal! The sushi is supposed to be cold, not at room temp. or people will get sick. Im not going back. Will not recommend this place to anyone!!

Amazing buffet experience with A Star buffet. Although I live in McKinney (20 minute drive) but its worth the drive specially when you youre dinning with some good friends. The food is always fresh, large variety, great service. Ive been to this restaurant for over 15 times so far and I havent regretted it once. Definitely Recommended !

Some of the sushi was decent, but all the other food on the buffet was of poor quality and taste. Also no steamed crab legs, which sucks. Not to mention the robot staff that is either too overworked or to exhausted to give a normal smile or show any kind of personality. Would not do it again. Would not recommend.

The choices and taste of the foods are surprising good for a Chinese buffet. The price is reasonable as well. If you are into seafood and sushi, along with Chinese food, this place is a good place to visit for a reasonable price.

Ive come to this place three times and all have have been very good experiences. The food sometimes isnt cooked all the way, but overall, a great variety to fill you up! Waiters are very courteous and friendly as well.
