I can tell that India Haat is still in its formative stage. Not that its a bad thing just a few things to iron out. Our appetizer and entrees came out rather closely together. But the entrees stayed hot when we were ready to have them so its OK. The food quality however was outstanding! Service though I wouldnt say was 4 star was attentive enough so we were taken care of. We do plan to return. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Report on Return Visit We made reservations with Open Table but it was totally unnecessary. When we arrived there were only two occupied tables. The rather casually attired (blue jeans, polo, and sneakers) man who greeted us left us pick any table. He asked if we wanted ice water. No we didnt. Wife asked for wine and he rushed off to find what I assumed was the on-duty manager/waiter. We got non-ice water anyway. And the wine and a beer for me. We then ordered garlic naan. It came out promptly but it reeked and had the taste of raw garlic. Cmon people. Cook the garlic! We ordered our meals- lamb chops for the wife and a curry for me. Meanwhile a few patrons began to trickle in. A couple of to-go orders were picked up. A table of six next to us was receiving a steady stream of food. Appetizers were brought out to other tables. About an hour later my wife got her lamb. Four pitifully thin and over cooked things on a bed of cabbage. Im still waiting for my meal to come out. So I went to the restroom. When I got back my meal had arrived and my wife had ripped into the waiter for our having to wait so long. We were compensated by having the cost of the food removed and only charged for the drinks. But that was an ordeal that we care not to repeat. I was certain that we would have a good experience judging by all the positive online reviews. But I guess they were made by India Haat employees. No plans to return.

So we went to this place when it first opened and service was awful so today we decided to give it a shot again thinking maybe things may have changed. Boy were we wrong. Service is not only extremely slow but just flat out useless. My husband asked for a second bowl of sambhar and the waitress has no idea what it was so we showed it to her twice on her table. We waited for 15 minutes and still didnt get it so at that point my husband went up to the manager and asked for the check and told him what happened and his only response was there was a communication gap thats it. Sambhar is something usually made in bulk so all they had to do was pour it in another bowl and serve it and that even they couldnt process. We live locally so we were excited when they opened thinking we have a place close to home. NEVER AGAIN. To the owners response - Please read my review again and you will see that my husband did speak to the manager and he didnt even apologize for the inconvenience. All he did was make up an excuse of "communication gap".

Im from houstin and eat Indian food there all the time. After trying both Indian haat and manchale I was quite surprised. The style of Cuisine was unique. I later discovered both locations are part of the same company. They specialize in Mughlai cuisine. The style of food left over from the Mughal Empire,a speciality of the awaghi region of northern India. At haat I had the dum pukht selections (see photo) this is a slow steam cooked dish that was reserved for nobility during the reign of the Mughal Empire. An assortment of dishes the likes of which were indescribable. I ordered my dish with Paratha (also pictures) a multi layered bread fired in a clay over. This establishment had a unique concept called The Chefs Table imagine a Hibachi table, but instead of lots of rice and butter you get a personal chef who will talk you through the menu, ask you what you like and build custom dishes for you. If you ever find yourself in Dallas I highly recommendl you acquaint yourself with Mughalai cuisine

Very poor experience! I went for lunch around 1.20 pm so not close to end of lunch. It was not too crowded and got seated quickly. I went to get my food, but was very dissatisfied. All rice items including biryani and plain rice had started to dry out and get crisp. There was very few naan in bowl so I got a couple and they were dry. The chicken tikka was so dry that the fork could not pierce it. After about 5 to 9 min of eating I still had not gotten water or offered any drinks. The table next to me was being served hot naan and I was not offered any. When the server started to serve water to the table next to me which got seated after us he noticed we didnt have water so he gave me a glass as an after thought he assumed I only wanted water. When I went to see if there was any fresh tikka it was empty. I asked one of the waiters for fresh rice, he put his BARE HANDS TO SEE IF THEM RICE WAS NOT FRESH AND IF IT REALLY WAS CRISPY. AND THAT DID IT. I ASKED FOR THE CHECK AND LEFT.

A bit overpriced with staff lying about price of lunch buffet.I asked them before eating and they told me it was $11.99. After I finished eating server brought the check and it said $12.99! These people are not honest! Food was okay not the best I have ever had. Very small selection of curries. Basically one chicken and one goat. When I first got their I got goat curry and it had goat meat in the curry. I went back for more and no more goat. I asked the manager if they were going to bring more meat. He replied this dish was not suppose to have goat meat only ground meat. But then he asked the chef to make more. Why not just put more instead of arguing? Lunch buffet is okay. They dont accept Groupon anymore for dinner denied it and charged full price for dinner which is not worth it!! $20 a dish for small portions of curry.

We went to this restaurant and had a horrible experience. Everything which i tried had something or the other issue with it: 1) White rice was half cooked and a peculiar smell was coming. 2) Butter chicken was very sweet. 3) Mutton was also half cooked. 4) Quality of chicken in chili chicken was bad. There were other dishes but didnt try. We complaint about it but they were not ready to acknowledge and to our surprise were proving that everything is OK, by bringing fresh food to our table. Replying to owners response: Dear Sir I have no personal issue. We were very happy that an Indian restaurant has opened near our office. I think you should really understand the complaints we made and make improvements in your food rather than giving justifications/proving a point of our motives!

We went there for lunch a little later than normal but still within their lunch times. Well they got us to sit and as soon as we got our food and sat down, the guy (not the owner but the other guys) very conveniently comes out and tells us that they are clearing up the buffet tables. I am like WTF....we just sat down. If you were really closing down, you could have told us. Loved the fact that they had chat corner, but hated the fact that there was nothing left and they wouldnt refill the stations. Quite frannkly, dont know what their food tastes like coz we didnt get to eat properly. It wasnt a fun experience. If we are dropping 30-40 bucks for lunch for a couple of people we expected a little better service. Quite disappointed. Not going back anytime soon.
