What a great cafe in the hills! The garden is outstanding and the view is just enough to make it worthy of the very short drive from Kerrville. The menu has just the right number of options for home style fare. Our childs burger was hand-pressed and cooked just right. My pulled pork had great flavor, and the wheat buns were fresh. Solid beer and wine selection, with hopes that they are adding additional local options. Everything was clean and fresh, including the restrooms. And at the same time, the decor is rustic and worn with a casual atmosphere. We were lucky to have had the opportunity to enjoy live music by Mr. & Mrs. Roberts. The staff brought the whole experience home with a warm welcome and outstanding service.

Just found this place about 2 weeks ago......I was amazed there is someplace like this in the Kerrville area I didnt know about. Food was excellent, had a fresh grilled burger on a homemade sourdough bun with sweet potato fires. My friend got an order of fried green tomatoes, havent had those since I use to go to grandmas house during the summer. Man, brought back some good memories and also a smile on my face cause they were so good. We both had a different dessert and shared with each other. I had Key Lime parfait and she had Coconut Meringue pie. Both were great - I LOVED the Key Lime!!!!

This former gem is no longer what it once was. It has lost its charm over the years. My biggest complaint is the inconsistency in the food and service. I visited this past Saturday evening and the wait staff seemed to be on drugs. Reading in the "Kerr County People" magazine I learned this was a "Faith Based" company. The owner should have more concern with these things. I understand the owners are out of town, but the restaurant certainly seems to be under poor management. I am not sure I will continue to dine here as I am more disappointed every time I come in.

Outstanding smothered grilled chicken topped with grilled mushrooms and onions, sides were mashed potatoes, grilled veggies and cornbread for $8.00 The special....chicken Étouffée, home made rolls, strawberry shortcake and ice tea for $8.95. Everything was fresh, well plated and you can tell it is made from scratch. You will certainly not leave hungry and this is definitely one of your better places to eat in Kerrville. It was very clean, service was great, prices are good, and we will certainly return and tell our friends about it.

I had the Philly Cheese steak on a jalapeno-cheddar sourdough roll and my wife had the Pulled pork on the same roll. Both were excellent. The cheese steak had to be the tenderest I have ever had. I like that I could choose my cheese and not a "canned" sauce. My wife said that her pulled pork was great and the sweet potato fries were the best shes ever had. Weve been here before and have never had a bad meal. Highly recommend it to anyone and the prices are very reasonable too.

Just ate there this Friday and was so disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Kerrville. The mashed potatoes had a strange taste that is so unusual. The fried green tomatoes had so much breading, I had to search for the tomatoes. I did tell the waitress when she asked about my food and her response was "oh, sorry!" The quality of the food has definitely changed in the last few months. I dont think I will be going back.

Food good as always. Chicken salad sandwich is primo. However, whomever is responsible for washing their cloth napkins should not be using scented fabric softener or dryer sheets. This makes for some unpleasantness in the dining experience. Pu wee! In fact in laundering towels, and dish clothes no softener should be used at all because it hinders absorbency. Just sayin

A true Hill Country experience... The homestyle meals are tasty and the desserts are delicious! The bakery makes all the breads and desserts served in the restaurant. Amazing decor inside and out... and the gardens are a great place to find inspiration for your own outdoor space!! The Ridge is one of our favorite local places to take our out of town guests!

Great oasis in the country! Friendly service, excellent homemade food, reasonable prices, primo lemonade! Best of all, we could eat with the dog on the small porch, which worked out perfect, in spite of the flies. I love a place that offers my dog water before I even ask! Drive the 4 miles from I -10 if youre passing through...worth your time!

havent been there in a couple years since a disappointing trip. but they have a beautiful atmosphere. Cant comment on the menu at this time,.....been thinking about trying it again, but Im a bit apprehensive about how folks might "handle" my food after sharing my disappointment, but I am extreeemly cautious about people handleing my food

food is so so, waitstaff are rude or flighty, and owners are incompetent. will not go back and NEVER ORDER TAKEOUT. They will leave something important out EVERYTIME. Imagine trying to eat chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and NO GRAVY. Pies are good but way overpriced for the small sliver you get. Stay away from this joint.

Always fresh and delicious. Reasonable prices, cool interior. There is usually something going on the weekend (live music, movies under stars...). We always walk around after were done with a cookie and look at the gardens and say hi to the chickens. Definitely worth checking out

WoW is the first words that come to mind. The food is amazing the service is better than amazing. The nursery was beautiful and all the wood work & plants was breath talking. I high recommend a visit to this treasure of a place. We traveled 1.5hours and will do it again soon

It is always hard to find a good place to eat breakfast or lunch when you are traveling down the interstate. I usually try to go the quickest one and its always a let down. This Cafe is worth the extra mile to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy a peaceful meal.

Excellent service and great food. Avoid if crowded. I arrive at 11:00 A.M. for lunch - thats perfect. Very good service. They do serve too much food. Their daily special is way too much food. Some people ask for a "half order" and still say they get too much food.

Great place to visit in the Texas Hill Country! Good home cookin! Lovely grounds to explore with everything from bakery goods to plants to metal artwork & in between at the shops, live music per their schedule. Right outside of Kerrville off IH 10. Love this place!

Food was ok. The omelet did not have cheese, which is extra. I ordered toast, and when I asked for jam I was told they did not have any. The employee who makes the jam did not make any. It really was too bad after hearing so many good things about this place.

Totally awesome restaurant and garden center combination. Eat some good food then go for a walk in the garden. Its beautiful and there is a nice wind blowing through the garden. You can win your supper with a game of trivia versus the other guests.

Food was good. However the manager was very rude when trying to accommodate our group of 20. An attempt was made to reserve and area and we were told they did not take reservations. When we arrived it was as if they wanted to refuse our service.
