A 2016 New Years day experience... about 10:30am we place an order (which we had to change because they were out of one of the breakfast items). I get a cup for coffee. I fill my cup, add a bit of milk and return to our table. As I lift the cup to take a drink, a flash of red catches my eye: lipstick on the side of the cup. I take my cup to the checkout and request one without lipstick. A young lady apologizes and hands me another cup. The manager slides over and the employee tells him what happened. So, he volunteers to me, "Not your shade?" I respond, "I dont think its f***ing funny." and leave to fill my new cup. The manager follows me to the coffee station and informs me that he was not trying to be funny (as if anyone would believe that) and notes that he prefers that I not use that kind of language around "his associates." I suggest to him that I prefer a restaurant that knows how to wash dishes. Luckily, my last name is not Soprano.

Ill start off by saying Ive been to LMs in San Antonio and Dallas. Have been going for years, mostly for breakfast. This La Madeleine looks nice and is very clean, and the managers/staff are exceptional. But when I went in for lunch the other day, I ordered a pasta dish I have ordered in the past and it was awful. Nothing recognizable and very flavorless for a wild mushroom sauce; it just tasted off. The manager accepted the return with no complaints (as they should, which is why I say the service was excellent) and got what my wife had ordered, a tuna salad croissant sandwich. It was runny and also flavorless. Our plates had a disgusting cream at the bottom due to that. We ended up feeling ill less than an hour later. Kitchen staff, please step up your game. Too bad we wont be coming here again.

I usually love going to this restaurant. It is close to my main shopping areas and the staff and food tend to be pretty awesome. Today I was truly disappointed. I ordered the Beef Bourguignon to go and after getting home found it to be totally inedible. The beef was burned pretty badly, and I thought that the rest would be somewhat salvageable, but somehow the potatoes were also burned? Hard to see how as they seem to be of the mashed variety, but it appears that they burned and whoever plated it attempted to mix the burned parts in to hide it. I have ordered this dish before and enjoyed it, but today was not a repeat performance. Sad that it was a waste of 14$ as I did not find out till I finished putting away my groceries and the restaurant closed.

This place was amazing when it first opened, however, we come here 2 to 3 times a month for lunch and it just keeps getting worse. My mother ordered the Beef Bourguignon, and it came out burned. I ordered a cup of the French Onion soup, and that came out cold. My caesar salad came out good, but a salad is pretty hard to mess up. We brought our complaints up to a skinny manager named John and he sat there and argued with my mother that everything came out how it was supposed to. He didnt offer to replace the food or anything. All he could say was he was sorry. Maybe he was trying to save food costs, but whats the point if you keep driving out your potential and repeat customers. Needless to say, this will be our last time here.

We usually love this franchise but this particular place was disappointing. The lady that took our order had a major runny nose and kept wiping it with her hand. Majority of the tables had cold old food left on it , they were out of coffee in all three carafes, out of ice , bathrooms were out of toilet paper and faucets broken. I dont usually complain but when you go out to eat, my expectations are for a nice or somewhat decent experience. The owners need to step up their game. I enjoy the food here so much and it was why I gave it 2 stars because it made up for the uncleanliness. Please dont let this place fall apart, it just needs some love and attention.

This is my favorite place in San Antonio, too bad here the service is poor. I just dont want to be called "baby", "honey", "sweetie", while Im ordering to go. I also dont want to EVERYTIME ask for utensils or napkins at "to go." This is not professional and just annoying for the food prices, which your main to go lady keeps saying are so "expensive." Seriously, your staff is telling customers you charge to much. It makes a paying person feel insecure for making that purchase. Just because I dont think its too much please quit telling me it is. Food itself is good, just make sure you have enough time to sit in and eat.

Poor service by the female manager. The didnt have the things ready to cook what we ordered for THREE different meals!! The manager passed the buck to the kitchen staff and when our food came out wrong, runny eggs on a bed of water through the whole plate, she did nothing to correct it. I even saw the kitchen staff eating and lick his finger. Coffee was cold/out. NEVER going back to this one until they change the staff and get rid of the management with a better replacement.

Update: This place has went downhill. Every time I come theyre out of a ton of their items. Ive had pastries sold out after Ive already paid for them. Really terrible management. La Madeleine is a fantastic journey to the french countryside. There are always great soups, salads, and sandwiches there. They have an excellent selection pastries as well if youre in the mood for something light. Their breakfast is actually one of the hidden gems of this restaurant.

Purchased the Mediterranean chicken and feta sandwich with the provencal vegetable soup. When my food arrived at the table I noticed the soup had spilled on the plate. I tried my best to salvage the bottom part of my sandwich bread, but was too late since I watched her wandering around trying to find me. The vegetables in the soup were overcooked and mushy. FYI- I was sitting near the beverage station with letter stand visible.

I grew up on la Madeleine back home in San Antonio and I have fond memories. Unfortunately, every time weve been to this location our food has come out cold. This makes me think the food is microwaved. Someone needs to go find the guy that operated the Frenchman Inn and give him some start up money.

Really nice atmosphere. A quaint little cafe with salads made right in front of you. I had the tomato basil soup(they sell it by the jar as well). It was pretty good. More tangy then I would like but definitely worth a try. Will be going back to try La Madleine Pasta

Ive been there twice and both times my food came out cold AND burnt. how does that make sense? The service was also extremely incompetent. Me and my wife were ignored for the 45 minutes we were there. We will never ever ever ever go back there. Worst food in Lubbock.

I really dont like this place. The food isnt tasty and its overpriced. French people would feel completely offended about this place. Really bad coffee and worst croissants ever. Too loud. Too crowded. Too sweet.Too annoying. Honestly, dont waste your time.
