FOOD IS KINDA GOOD BUT SERVICE IS BAD. Below has been my experience dining with them... Is one of the new restaurants opened in the Irving area among the many that are present. Is quite popular among the indian crowd though not sure why. Went for the buffet and was a bit disappointed with what i saw. Most of the items were done and not refilled whenever i got to buffet table. most of the time ended up eating what ever was remaining in the buffet table. Did not feel the experience or food was worth what they charged. Also went there for picking up an order placed on grubhub. Even though the order was placed at 6 pm, called at 7:30 pm to confirm order was ready for pickup, was told to come at 8 pm to pick it up, went there at 8:15 pm and had to wait till 8:40 for picking up the order. What kind of service is that? Even though I stood at the host counter for 20 minutes waiting for them to get back to me, neither did they get back to me or give me any update on the ETA. Finally frustrated I had to approach another staff member to find out what was going in and then they gave me an answer. In all it took around 160 minutes from placing the order to picking it up. Super super super super bad. Godavari restaurant, you will soon have to close shop if you do not improve. IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE BOTH FOR DINING AS WELL AS TAKEOUT. Will not go there again unless they improve their service drastically.

Worst ever restaurant. They should take out the tag line "Best South Indian". The basic of Any cooking is - food must be served hot. My husband went for the buffet and not one of the appetizers or curries or rice were hot. When questioned why, the girl who worked at the restaurant said "Please get the food from the bottom. Top wont be hot " seriosulyyyyyy Next coming to the naan s in the buffet. We had to wait for it for almost a freaking 20 mins. Guess they thought we would not wait for it. Finally it came out after n reminders and It was not cooked inside but burnt outside so I think one can understand the way it was cooked. The sambar was so thick like porridge and it had raw tamarind smell still. The chutney was spoilt. When coming to curry side dish that was ordered not one of the vegetables in it was cooked. Carrots and potato was so hard in the veg chettinad curry that was ordered. the veg appetizers were literally dipped in oil. Eating that gave me a headache. Totally I wish I could give them Negative rating. But please dont go by their tag line and waste your money or compromise your health.

An over rated restaurant in simple words. We recently went to have a lunch buffet had to wait 30 min out in queue before getting a table but thats fine being a new restaurant it was crowded and its upto us whether to have a long wait or to choose other restaurants in Dallas. We thought whatever it may be we will wait and have the buffet. Finally v were seated a good interior decor and comment-able service I repeatedly say hatts off to the service so polite and welcoming nature. Now to the buffet part I didnt like the food to be very frank, nothing great just felt OK kind. Starters was like very very less and I may give a zero on that aspect. Desert utter rubbish a custard!! N some fruits what is this again a negative on that aspect. Main course was average nothing commentable but not bad too. I may not very well visit this restaurant again for a buffet because I feel v have plenty other good restaurants in Dallas. Since its very nearby to my home sometimes for a brunch I may go due to an easy access. Lastly I should again appreciate their good customer service !!

I am giving honest opinion. The food taste and quality is definitely below average. This is based on my ala carte order at dinner time. So, bear in mind, the food quality and taste could be different during lunch hour buffet. Our tandoori was fairly obvious served from lunch buffet leftover. No sizzling onion. Hot pot was stone cold. The chicken was room temperature, obviously the microwave heating was done for 1 min 30 sec. Or less. Ordered chicken fried rice. Of course, we didnt expect Chinese restaurant quality. Surprisingly, it was not fried. Basmati rice mixed with tomato ketchup, add some fresh onions, pieces of tandoori chicken (left over from lunch), and some fresh cilantro. And a side of, tomato ketchup. Ordered chicken tikka masala. Was fairly decent. Rava masala dosa was anything but rava. Without a single fuss, we promptly make everything to go. Service was great. Friendly employees. Just that they mistakenly added items we didnt order, but we assume its honest mistake. So yea! 3 star is good.

Group dining experience become group guilt. One who cleans the tables without wearing gloves will serve the drinks without washing his hands and you shouldnt feel irritated &They snatch away our plates even if our group mates are not yet finished their meal and dont try to tell etiquette ((cz their manager comes to you to tell that how rude he is especially,I am sorry this guy made my Birthday worst) I do appreciate the other 3(2girls and other boy) who treated us well with a smile. Do remind that customers are coming to you for not bcz they are sick enough to cook at their homes we feel its pleasant n friendly to hung out at beautiful place with our beloved ones. Sorry for not knowing before ,that u will RUIN that event. Tq n Good bye Godavari. Sorry to the owner (this isnt the first time coming to ur restaurant and we had great fun evrytime but this is nightmare)

Ive been going to godavari the last 4 weeks now and I went a little early today to beat the crowds 1. The buffet wasnt set up till 1 pm 2. The crab which is the main reason I go there was neither fresh nor well made. 3. The buffet had fewer items (and they werent very good) I was ok with godavari not having variations in their menu because their staples are so good. But at more than $16 a meal, they need to be punctual and consistent. Ill probably give it one more try before I remove it from my rotation. PS: I am revising my ratings since I went back there 2 weeks later and the sea food was fresh again. On a regular weekend their food is high quality and their buffet has a lot of dishes. They still dont have a lot of variation on a weekly basis. i.e. they tend to repeat the same dishes every week

The software which take order is too slow :p.overall experience of waiter makes ordering process extra slow. Started severed without drinks... 1/2 star Drinks ordered repeated int he middle of started. 15 min after starters still no sign of drinks. Ordered two paneer starters.. But we only got one. Finally got sprite but now they confused with salf lassi n buttermilk. To avoid any further delay We settled with buttermilk. Now they are forgot all of our order... Half of the main course on plate... Half of our party is waiting. Chicken Biryani was nice... Paneer was too spicy.. Overall food was average...

I came here for lunch to treat my friend and I am so glad we chose this place. The restaurant serves traditional and most importantly authentic South Indian food. The restaurants decor is lovely--modern and abstract. The ambiance is very good. They serve awesome chicken biryani which will remind you of Hyderabadi style. This will be definitely the place to pamper your taste buds. They provide a lavish Buffet with over 40+ items. Last but not the least, they have a huge exclusive parking lot which made my life easy inspite of the heavy rush on weekends. All the best GODAVARI....a very long way to go...
