How is this place getting high ratings for food?!?! Let me start off by saying I had no problems with the service. The problem is the FOOD! We went here for brunch for HRW and even before I stepped foot in here I knew I was going to be disappointed. I had looked up the ratings & reviews online before we went (which were pretty positive) but when I looked at pictures of the food most of it looked bland and unappealing, so in my gut I just knew I wasnt going to enjoy the food...and boy was I right! I myself ordered off the HRW menu. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Flatbread. Looked like the flatbread was burnt, barely any salmon and way too much vinaigrette! I took a few bites didnt finish it. The second course was the crab cake benedict. Horrible (Ive had better at The Egg & I). I dont even think that is real crab meat they are serving! My mom ordered blueberry pancakes. The came out and served her (cold) pancakes with just a few blueberries on top! lol My mom was pissed but she ate (one) pancake anyway. My sons meal unappealing as well. My son loves waffles he didnt even touch the waffles here lol SMH The total of our meal came out to almost $60!! WHAT?? We will never step foot in here again. Waffle House serves a better breakfast than this!

Came here a few times. Can tell you the brunch is alright, the burger/french fries are great, and filet mignon is the best Ive had in awhile. Our server was Matheus and he was great too. He made these delicious mijitos we couldnt get enough of. I tried the margarita (its made with jalapeno) and I can definitely go without that in the future. The filet mignon is topped with a creamy lobster sauce and comes with two sides for about $35. The owner is kind and will go around and talk to all the guests in the restaurant to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves. Makes you feel good for supporting a local business. If youre in the area, give them a try :-)

Just finished a birthday lunch at Urban kitchen. The overall experience was lack luster. It wasnt a welcoming feeling from the start. The waiter greeted us with "two"? Follow me... When we sat down he made no eye contact and upon us reviewing the menu I told him that its was my first time dining. He offered no suggestions nor did he tell us anything about the menu. I would have loved to come back, had the experience been worth it, however the staff did not ask how our dining experience was nor did they acknowledge us leaving. Overall disappointing experience. Dont they know its about word of mouth and customer satisfaction?

I give Urban American Kitchen 5 stars. Their chicken and waffles were great! The atmosphere was so casual, cozy, and laid back. Service was wonderful and fast. Everyone was pleasant, from the host greeting guest at the door to the wait staff. I really appreciate Victor for all of his great service (He memorized our names!) as well as the other waiters who helped serve my friends and I. I dined there this past Saturday 8/20 to have brunch with friends, I found this restaurant on the Houston restaurants month list, a great find with affordable prices. I will definitely be back!! Victor look out for me!!

We went for brunch this morning and had Tony as our server. Our first time even though we only live a couple of miles away - the food was truly fantastic, great service and good value mimosas! The place fills up fast after it opens so make sure you have a reservation or just come early. Our only complaint was the manager appeared to have a slight attitude when we stated we didnt have a reservation, and sat us in a less than great corner booth as what felt like a punishment for not planning ahead. Will make sure to reserve next time!

This is a new West Houston gem. The menu is very elevated American bistro. I heard about this place though a friend while he was exploring new eateries near his house. Burgers are spot on. The rest of the menu ranges from fish tacos to California chicken sandwiches to a number of pastas. Feels like there is something for everyone. I can imagine people working in the energy corridor area cant decide on where to eat. The menu here can pretty much solve that problem less the one off persons desire to have Asian food.

Ordered through doordash. Order was accurate and on time. I ordered the lobster Benedict, my sister ordered the chicken and waffles and we split the french toast. French toast was great! I only tried the chicken part of her chicken and waffles but it was flavorful and well cooked. Lobster benedict, however, was pretty disappointing- nothing terrible but not exciting at all. The lobster had no flavor so it basically tasted like I was eating an english muffin with bland hollandaise sauce.

I came to the restaurant on a GROUPON brunch coupon, and personally would not go there again for brunch. Not that impressed with brunch. Could not substitute bacon for the potatoes without an extra $1 charge, although as a side they are the same price on the menu. Also, the size of the omelette was not all that big, though I felt the price for greasy home fries, a small unimpressive fruit salad and the ham, mushroom and Swiss cheese omelette was overpriced at $11.95.

Honestly? Fantastic. "Quality" is a good description. You know how some spots you can tell they put extra tlc into the ingredients, so you can eat a really rich meal without feeling like youve defiled your body? This is one of those. Had the cubano sandwich and fries for lunch, and even the fries didnt make me feel heavy. Got in and out for just over $12. Worth a look in the opinion of this non foodie regular slob.

Awful. The food was bland and undercooked. The portions were tiny compared to the prices. Not really sure what they were thinking opening this kind of restaurant in a neighborhood like this - most people around here have better taste than that. Youre better off going to one of the local grocery stores and making the meals yourself. Itll be cheaper and taste much better.

Had a wonderful dinner three nights ago. The environment is clean and fresh looking. The wait staff was really good and of course the purpose of the evening - the meal....was good for all of us. This is a place that West Houston / Memorial Drive should embrace. Its a relaxed place where you can get a good drink and meal at fair prices.

Service was friendly and responsive. I had the urban salad, spicy black bean soup, spinach artichoke dip. Salad was average, I would think but I actually needed more dressing on it. Soup was not spicy, but I am an Indian American! Dip was fantastic, best Ive ever had ! Also had great background music, and a chic atmosphere.

This place is upscale yet casual. The food is gourmet. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Our waitress Cristina along with the whole staff was on top of our drink refills and making sure everything was to our liking. I would definitely recommend this place if you want try a normal dish with an upgraded twist!!

Although our server was not the best in terms of the menu items or asking how food should be cooked, etc., she was very kind and seemed to enjoy her job. She made sure everything was satisfactory. All the staff appeared eager to perform their roles well. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.
