Overall: Dont go here! I never write reviews for places but I had to for this one. I have gone to this place on several occasions and not once have I enjoyed the food. I dont understand the hype. Even for tex-mex its awful, really greasy, and lacking flavor. I ordered a taco from here once that contained a slab of extremely fatty, greasy meat and nothing else. The second time I went I ordered a tamale and they gave it to me filled with ground beef. Thats not a tamale!! And it was pretty gross. If youre looking for AUTHENTIC, yummy mexican food just keep driving down the road a little to San Pedro Limón. Amazing food at that place, suuuper cheap, and the best REAL mexican food Ive ever had in Georgetown. Qualifications: Im Hispanic and I love food.

The restaurant sits up at a good location, once you enter, you will find darkness, there were 10 Light bulbs Completely out. One waitress, more then likely a family member, serving all tables. Place is NOT clean, there were an odor inside. Does not Serve beer, another disappointment, I am sure they are making good $$$$ but why not invest in your own location and make customers feel welcomed? The place inside is like a dungeon ...Sorry I will not recommend this to anyone else, when serving food, the place should be absolutely clean and who knows what they are serving when you cant even see being so dark.

We have been eating at El Charrito at least twice a month since they opened many years ago.Their food is consistently excellent. I dont understand some of the negative reviews because they are completely inconsistent with my experience over many years and seem a bit overboard in their descriptions. We typically have the cheese enchiladas, enchiladas suisas, tacos (al carbon are my favorite) and flautas. They are consistently fresh and good. Breakfast tacos are outstanding. I have eaten authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex throughout the southwest and I am VERY happy to have El Charrito here at home.

Dont be fooled by the exterior!! El Charrito is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Georgetown. -Cheap delicious breakfast tacos till 2pm (so many combos and 10 minute max wait) - Lunch special with awesome meals and prices! - You really get alot of food for your buck. - Semi-great service. -Even has a window pickup for quick to-go orders till 2pm. They dont make the order(breakfast) until you get there because who wants cold old food?? They prepare the food and make it first priority when you arrive...dinners are call time pickups! Now go get some badass Mexican food!

have been going to the restaurant since 1998 when I arrived in Georgetown. It was the only Tex-Mex cafe in town. The food has always been good, nearly eveything on the menu is well prepared and tasty. The restaurant itself is in need of some real up-grading. The lighting is poor because there are only about 1 or two light bulbs in each of the light fixtures, which hold 5 bulbs each. The walls are dark and the room seems unclean and it is gloomey inside. I do like the food but I am tired of dining in a place I dont respect. Charlie T.

We moved away but lived in Georgetown many years and El Charrito has become our favorite overall restaurant and the first place we go when we come back to town. They have the best green enchiladas and their enchiladas Campasinas are incredible. They sell huge numbers of tacos from their trucks and that keeps their ingredients constantly fresh. They certainly could stand to reinvest more of their income into upkeep of the restaurant but the food is impossible to replace when you travel elsewhere.

I highly recommend this place. This is the best Mexican food I have had since I moved to Central Texas. We took a chance on this tiny place when we went there as a large group over our lunch hour.We had great service. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. Most of us ordered the enchilladas with green sauce, which was fabulous and they were even happy to split our check at the register. Go early as the place filled up quickly during the lunch hour.

Notice all the breakfast taco comments. They are good and they have been here a long time. We call it the Temple of tacos because the order window outside is 2 feet above normal so you have to look up at the pastor of tacos. All that said breakfast tacos are the only thing i would recommend. As long as you dont look in the kitchen. I think people get used to something then think its better than it is.like McDonalds. No like monument café.

BRING CASH OR SPEND MORE THAN $10 TO USE A CARD!!! I love me some barbacoa tacos with cilantro and onion! However the tacos I got here a week ago werent even good. All 4 tacos were 60% onions, 20% cilantro and 20% meat. I love onions but not when more than half the taco is made up of it! Good thing this was just a one time visit while I was in the area, couldnt stand living near a place that serves improper proportions.

El Charrito in Georgetown, TX. We love the food here! Real authentic Tex-Mexican food. The inside of the restaurant is pretty basic, and the TV Mexican channel is usually blaring, so we love eating out on their outside patio, where we can enjoy beautiful Georgetown atmosphere and the people walking by. We go there for the food because it is a real as you can get and we love it!

Every time I come back home, I stop here for their breakfast tacos. Before 11am, you can walk up to a window at the side of the building and order to your hearts content. Their salsa is particularly fantastic. Everything is also priced well, so theres no reason not to stop by if youre in the area. 10/10!

Simply the best! The enchiladas here have become the measuring stick by which others are judged. We have been patrons since 1995, and even though we moved a few years ago, we love to travel through to visit family so we can eat here.

Great eggs, great sides, great tortillas, great sauce, great tea, great service. We got our food very quickly after ordering, and everything was seasoned and cooked wonderfully. If I lived closer, Id eat here multiple times a week!

Ive never actually been to the restaurant itself, but they have a taco truck that comes right to my work in the mornings on the week days and its fabulous. Sweet guy who always has what we want, is very polite, and has good food!!

The place to go for take away breakfast tacos, El Charrito also serves family-style Mexican food for lunch and dinner. Chipsand home made salsa with every meal, friendly staff, great food at affordable prices.

Sweet local spot that has been around for ages. Not my #1 taqueria in Georgetown, but a definite winner nonetheless. Walk-up to order at the window for food to go, or head inside to be served at a table.

Got there today at 1:25. Was turned away at the door. The waiter said they were closed. Sign on the door says closed at 2pm. Just wanted a quick bite to eat. Not sure if we will give it another try.
