I was very surprised to see a Bonanza while visiting Lake Yankton. Im originally from Maine and hadnt seen this chain outside of my home state. This happened to be my favorite venue as a kid so Im certain Im biased in this revue. It seems the Chicken Monterrey has become decidedly smaller than I ever remember it being (seriously it felt like they served me a pigeon breast), but the salad bar almost made up for it. Bonanza always had a great salad bar, but it appears theyve expanded it to include even more stuff. They now have wings, chicken tenders, and tacos as part of the salad bar along with the usual soups, loads of salad items and bakery goods like bead, cookies, and brownies. For an inexpensive venue, this about as good as steak houses get, but not quite as good as I remembered it being. Maybe its the location or the bias of childhood memories. Im really not sure.

The food was good but they told me they couldnt make my steak medium rare, which is how I always ordered it from the Fairfield, Ohio location. Also, the salad bar desperately needs to be updated. The food was good, but a remodel to a larger bar with more variety would be the right idea. The service was poor, as well. The staff was friendly enough, but they failed to check on our drinks, as they said they would.

the salad bar and hot bar was good but I heard a lot of random noises from the kitchen as I was going to the bathroom and from the rumors I hear from the busers that it is from the goofy redneck boi who dropped out of school named Andrew Johnson who drives a dope red elcamino that has a mean sounding engine in it. Went to eat there with a friend on a weekday and we had the worst customer service ever. We had big piles of dirty plates and they wouldnt take them. And the steak was very dry and hard to chew. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!

My mom found a fly in her macaroni salad from the buffet, aka the fly was in the salad for who knows how long, service was ok, not much food to chose from but overall its a place where Id never recommend it to someone else.

Salad bar is okay. Steak is okay (not the most tender or flavorful but decent (and better than places out of America)) wait staff is very nice. They dont have many lower price options, almost everything is over $10

The food was good the service was good the only complaint I have is that they leave my dirty dishes sitting on my table the whole time Im here I wish they would send somebody out to pick up dirty plates off tables

I love coming to this restaurant. I live in town and have been coming for quite some time. The salad bar is by far the best I have ever seen and they have excellent food for an affordable price. A must eat place.

We like Bonanza we always eat there when we are in Yankton, Sioux Falls dont have a Bonanza steakhouse any more. We wish they would put another Bonanza steakhouse in Sioux Falls. Good place to eat.

Their different color shirts made me happy, and for all you who think they are a buffet you are wrong they are a steak house. So no, no buffet at bonanza just great food. :) 10/10 would eat again

Great food and service but very small buffet for the money. I remember the buffet being way bigger when I was a child. At over $10.00 per peson for the buffet I could of ate steak.
