Our experience tonight was both positive and negative. Both my wife and I ordered Fish Po Boys. The server was wonderful because were not fans of catfish and she offered to ask if we could have the sandwiches made with tilapia instead. We were thrilled. We ate our appetizer, crab-stuffed jalapeños, obviously Cisco and not so fresh. When the sandwiches came, they were very, very fishy with a lot of blood line and too strong to eat. However, my wife did force hers down. When the server returned and saw that I hadnt eaten mine, she offered to have something else prepared. She was awesome! I opted for the Shrimp Po Boy and when it arrived, it was loaded with tender Gulf Shrimp (which I am not a fan of) but they were fresh and the atmosphere was very nice. I let it go at that, dipped everything in red sauce (also very good) and left our wonderful server a nice tip. Well go back for the fries and cocktails over the water, but the food is and will likely remain, so-so.

We are upstairs in the restaurant portion of the place. The food was good, pricing was probably 10-15% above what you might expect, but it is in a very tourist-centric area, so that is to be expected. I had the parmesan crusted red snapper, and it was well prepared and tasted very nice. Unfortunately, the wait staff was not up to par with what you would expect. Our waitress was very slow, did not check on us, and we had to wait approximately 15 minutes after everyone was done eating before a bus boy came by and we could ask someone for the check. The restaurant was not very busy - I would guess that less than 1/2 of the tables were full and there was no wait at the door. Im not sure if they were just short staffed or if their staff just wasnt performing, but either way it was frustrating.

Horrible service. My friend and I are the only people in the in the bar right now. There are four employees currently here and they are all on their cell phones. They all disappeared and left us alone. Free to do just about anything. Upon arrival we were told we MUST drink alcohol. I ordered chicken tenders, as recommended from the bartender. He stated he doesnt really like anything on the menu. I asked if they had gravy, he said no and proceeded to joke around about charging me 5$ for him to go upstairs and make it. Kitchen is uncovered outside, which is odd. Our food just arrived and its actually pretty good. Someone else just joined us at the bar, he brought his own pizza from somewhere else... smart guy.

Im not even here for 15 minutes and Im already unimpressed, Im a local to Galveston, and Im also not one to part negative reviews like every baby boomer on here, but being from Mexico and knowing how ceviche should look and taste like makes it very disappointing that they serve a miserable amount of precooked seafood with berely any avocado..... Not to mention it was testing on a big bed of lettuce..... LETTUCE... On top of that they also a nice $15 price tag on it and call it an appetizer... This is not fine dining. Try the Waterman Restaurant they are pricy but at least they serve fresh seafood

I have been here other times and the staff was very attentative! Well, we were having a ladies weekend on 9/15 so we stopped by for food and karaoke at 7:30. We sat and not one person spoke to us or waited on us. We left after sitting there 15 minutes and another table was waited on before us!! Very disappointed with the non service.

Bad service. 6 servers were sitting at the side if the bar socializing, we were one of only 7 groups there, so not like they couldnt get to us bc they were too busy. Food is way too over priced for what it is. As for their margaritas, I think a slushie has less sugar content in it than this place.

I worked at The West End and most of the employees are very hard working and professional. However I cannot say the same for management. Due to this the employees have to work with what they got. I love that place but its not gonna be around for long being ran under current management!!!!!!.

My wife and I enjoyed our dinner here. It has a very nice atmosphere and the food was excellent. It is a small restaurant, but it serves its community quite nicely and still has room for some tourists like us. It was a little pricey, but worth it. Bravo and keep up the good work!

I love the atmosphere here! Its a great place for casual beach-wear dining, or a nice after 5-wear dining - its your choice! This hidden treasure is a local hot-spot. Come down to The Sandbar Marina area for live entertainment on Friday and Saturdays - its a blast!

#1 would have been helpful to know that they expect reservations. #2 wait staff & management was rude. Never got to taste the food. Ended up leaving before getting seated even though half of the tables in the restaurant were empty. Waited over 20 minutes.

Was hot when we came and didnt cool down much. Salad dressing was watery. Didnt have the full bar like it stated on the menus. Server was great. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was great. It was the little things that kept it from a five.

Way over-priced mediocre food! They even charged extra $3 to split $16 bowl of lobster bisque that barely had any lobster in it! The pasta was bland and over-cooked. The service was very slow. The manager did nothing when we complained.

Good food in an open air restaurant overlooking the marinas. Great views with plenty of shade made it a great place for a large family style lunch. Pound of shrimp was really generous and tasty.

Wish they had zero stars. Paid $66 for take out for two. Fried oysters and gumbo were awful. Fried shrimp were passable. Green bean sides were good. Way over priced. Service was friendly.

Horrible!!! Terrible service! There was NO ONE in the restaurant @4:45 and the hostess gave us an attitude that we did not have a reservation. Then we had a hair in our food.
