You know how Olive Garden is considered the "McDonalds" of Italian food? And how the whole place is obnoxious and smells of stale Italian food? Well, Id rather go there than have to suffer through another evening at Tavolo. My party of three arrived at 5:30pm, we were unable to leave until after 7pm because of the slow service. It started out promising. Good bread. Good appetizer. Average salad. All came out quick and timely. After that, our mains took 30 minutes after our salad plates were cleared. If I had to hear from our waiter one more time how the food was "almost ready," I might have strangled him. When they finally did arrive, it was plates of gamey beef (how the heck do you have gamey beef? Was it old meat?), flavorless pesto, dry chicken, and salmon that was just off, as though it wasnt properly cleaned before cooking. The sad thing is that it started out so well. Then its like our waiter and the kitchen staff just gave up. There are some good ratings for Tavolo, but there are also quite a few poor ratings. Dont take a chance on this place. Take your money, go to the store and get a cheap jar of sauce, pasta, a rotisserie chicken, and some pre-made garlic bread, and youll have a much more satisfying meal than you would wasting your time at this place. Tavolo? More like Terribile.

Worst experience; the restaurant was dirty and freezing cold. Waiter cleared the apps and took the bread away (what Italian restaurant takes the bread?) then came back to say that he didnt order our entrees, when the entrees finally started coming out they arrived one at a time - 15 minutes from the first to the last, the Arrabbiata dish was covered in black pepper and inedible. At the end the waiter was supposed to box up some leftovers but we never saw those again. Never again.

Too many tables for such a small space which makes the environment feel cramped. Air conditioner wasnt working properly so it felt muggy inside during the visit. Purchased the red blend wine which made my stomach feel sick. Other Italian restaurant in town serve better menu items for about the same price. The positive side of the place is the location and the decor.

Great Italian fare! This place is on a whole other level compared to the typical Italian places littering dfw that serve typical red sauce and meatballs dishes. Cant believe I havent been here sooner, we will be coming back for sure. Pro tip: the toratalinis are life changing!

Cozy atmosphere, nice and quiet area. Generous portions and excellent service. My 7 yr old son loved the Lasagna, wife had the Salmon (gave me a bite, delicious) and I had the Marsala Vitello (thumbs up). Oh, and Tiramisu for dessert, yummi. Its on our favs list now ; )

I cant say enough about this place. The service was great (Lydia) and the food was amazing!! The chef (Andrew) came out and gave the most amazing suggestions. Try the linguini!! We will definitely be back and will be suggesting this place to everyone we know!!

My wife and I just went here for a date night and this place is incredible! Delicious Italian food, wonderful service and great atmosphere. The patio area was our favorite. Highly recommend it!

Great Italian food and wine selection. The chef and staff are fantastic. Always have a wonderful experience when we dine. For a celiac, its nice to go out and have delicious GF pasta.

Its owned by the same group as Mattitos next door, which explains the terrible service (bad at both places). Management needs to pay more attention and fix their operations.
