TL;DR: Was disrespected by an employee and charged twenty-five dollars for two beers without my consent I went here Saturday night at about 11:00, ordered a couple Heinekens and was given my card back without a receipt. I thought that was strange, and I asked the bartender if my tab was open, which he confirmed by my last name. Although I intended to go back for more drinks later, those two lasted me about an hour or so and by that point I was ready to leave. So I went to close out my tab and was told by new bartenders that I didnt have one open. I looked around and my original bartender was nowhere in sight. I tried to explain to a couple of them the circumstances in which I had opened the tab and was then told by a more senior looking member of the staff - and this is a very accurate paraphrase - "First you told bartender X that you opened a tab, then you told bartender Y you didnt, and now youre telling me its open. Why dont YOU go think about what YOUVE done tonight and come back if YOU can figure it out?" The employee said this with such derision that there could be absolutely no confusion about his intention not to help me. I have no idea why he thought my version of events was different from one bartender to the next. Even though he thought that, I was and still am shocked he would insinuate I was just trying to waste their time. There I was, a patron concerned about both a receipt for my transaction and the opportunity to tip the bar staff, and that is how I was treated. Appalled, I left and just hoped everything would work out. I had confirmed with the original bartender the beers I ordered were only four to five dollars each when I ordered them, and although I hate to leave a bar without tipping, without a receipt I was left no choice. When I woke up the next morning, the first thing I thought to do was check my bank account activity. My heart sank when I realized I was charged twenty-five dollars, which I presume is so high because I was charged additionally for not closing out my tab. In retrospect, despite the hectic scene of club-goers at the bar, I shouldve just stood up to the employee and asked for a (higher up?) manager to come out and resolve my dilemma. But what sickens me is I shouldnt have needed to stand up to anyone in the first place.

Is the profiling real? Yes it is i got to experience it but i wasnt kicked out the establishment just made aware i was being observed, if i rated the club solely on that experience Id give it 1 star but if i rated it not counting that moment it would receive a solid 4 so to best balance it out i will give this club a 3 stars because inside its a beautiful establishment has three layers each one nicer than the other. Also counting the safety factor at no point did i feel that i had to have my guard up or that anything troublesome would occur. Lmao another interesting thing i noticed is when hip hop music played none of the songs ever got to play longer than 54 secs before transitioning maybe this is a style of djing but the other songs that were non-urban played throughout. I understand wanting to protect your club but maybe ask the bouncers their opinions on particular patrons i know you have at least one black bouncer as you had him to approach us (cool dude by the way) flashy apparel really isnt a proper method for judging a persons character. Criminals tend to try to stay low key . . . But i could be wasting my time perhaps you are just a racist club owner but i want to believe you just want whats best for the club and the staff you employ, hmm I want to say Id come back but the feeling of being watched when all you were previously doing was sitting at a booth kind of almost wrecked my entire night. On ending i say you do have the right to deny whomever you want maybe if trump wins you can plastor a no blacks sign right on the door itll save both parties a lot of time and energy, not all blacks are looking to cause chaos some of us work and take trips(as i was) and just want to come out and forget we live in amerikkka, again not saying youre racist I dont personally know you just leaving my thoughts which will be in the middle.

WATCH YOUR STEP!!!!! Extremely disgusted with the lack of service and attentiveness of the employees working at The Den. I was about to leave The Den as a happy customer, but then as I was getting ready to leave I was walk and fell to the ground, what caused me to fall you may ask? Was I drunk? Nope…only had two beers that night…I fell because the bar staff failed to clean up a pile of throw-up on the floor. I mean it wasn’t just a little throw-up it was a big pile of throw-up. The throw-up was all over the back of my pants and shirt, all down my pants, and all over my heels. I also ended up having a pretty ugly bruise the size of a grapefruit on my knee from where I fell. As I was getting cleaned up in the bathroom, the manager walked by (who was pointed out by the bathroom attendant). I explained my situation to the manager who then proceeded to shrug his shoulders and walk away. I also explained what happened to the bar manager who did not offer to cover my tab (which was only 10 dollars) or to cover the dry cleaning. While I was at the bar closing out my tab, a female bartender gave me an attitude. Overall this bar over serves their customers, which causes people to throw-up in the middle of their bar – based on the conversations I had with the bar staff, this is a regular occurrence! If you do decide to go to this bar….watch your step you may land in a pile of throw-up!!!!

The moment we walked through the door, we were discriminated against. We just left about an hour ago. We came to The Den just to hangout for my friends birthday and intended to spend A LOT of money. But after being at the bar for just five minutes, a bouncer walked up and told us to leave because my boyfriend turned his snapback backwards. No one ever informed us of a dress code. Theres no signs visible stating that patrons arent allowed to wear caps. When I asked the bartender why we were being escorted out, she replied "Im not going to argue with you." No one deserves to be treated this way. Im a certified court reporter for the state of Texas, so I know the law. And throwing us out without informing us of a dress code is completely unethical, unprofessional and rude. I must admit, after speaking with the owner, I felt a bit relieved. He listened to our side and allowed us to stay. But who wants to be somewhere theyre not welcome? Do yourself a favor and go down the street to Sisu when hanging out Uptown. We definitely will never be back here.

Music is wack, drinks are wack, hookah was wack. Make sure you are there before 11 or you will be standing in line and standing when you get inside. I got there around 10:30 when there was no line, so i didnt witness any racial profiling that is stated in other reviews. They played a few hip hop songs, but the rest was that edm/house music. They have 3 levels and should utilize each for different types of music. Drinks are way over priced. Spent $20 on a dos equis and a AMF! Hookah was $40 that is the highest Ive ever seen any place charge. This is also the worst hookah I had. You had to suck the life out of you in order to get smoke. Then the girl had an attitude when I told her Im barely getting any smoke. I walked out of there with a migrane because of their crappy hookah. The only good thing I can say about this place is the view of downtown on the 3rd level. I also liked the lit cabanas up there too. But I doubt Ill be back.
