I am positive I will never frequent this grill/ bar again... the manager is horrid... and, he seems to not be able to do anything to placate his clients. Who has ever heard of a birthday party of 12 NOT being able to separate checks? I understand the gratuity... but, come on... really?! this "policy" makes me not want to leave anything for our friendly, but extra slow, waiter... okay... let me take that back... why make it difficult for clients to pay for their meal? The unpleasant and disrespectful managers suggestion was to "work it out among ourselves"... after hearing that cavalier statement... I wanted to give him (the unfriendly and disrespectful midget of a manager with the too tight and dirty pants on) my dentist card for a much needed teeth whiting treatment along with an address to my local cleaners... that said... it was JUST okay... the drinks were not that great (watered down and slow to arrive to our table; if you had a complaint with the drinks, we were told you could not send them back... i.e., the blood orange and the blue iron cactus drink)... the food was not that great (when the food finally arrived to our table, most of it was slightly tepid...not too mention, the server informed us that the apps were "pre-made" so we could not alter the food to individualized preference (i.e., the brisket quesadillas and the crab nachos)... and, to top it off... the service was not anything to speak of... the waiter seemed over-worked and he was slow; he seemed to be in the "weeds".... again... the manager (the ugly, little blonde guy with bad teeth and shotty customer service) makes it hard to leave a rating higher than 1/5... and, btw, folks... we did work it out... thankfully, we had a couple of math professors in our mist so it only took us about thirty or so minutes before one person finally decided to just put the entire bill on her credit card and allowed the rest of us to "pay her back" at a later time... ridiculously, crazy restaurant policies in my humble opinion... the ICMGMB is just okay. maybe. with or without a group... I want go back. my advice... go up the street to the Wild Rose! I know thats what were gonna do next time... hopefully, Ill be able to talk about the food AND the overall experience without rolling my eyes in irritation.

On several levels, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in years. I was with a group of 20 adults and teens separated into two areas, at a time on a Sunday where the restaurant seemed well staffed but there were only a few filled tables. Our waiter was pleasant enough, but it took 15 minutes just to take our drink order. When the waiter came, he took a fair amount of time to figure out which people were on each ticket, and said that his diligence was so that the process of closing our checks would be much faster. Then we waited another 20-25 minutes to receive drinks, and overall, 3+ hours to complete this lunch. Checks, once requested, took another 25 minutes – so much for fast processing. There were at least 6 servers working, several in our area, so it didn’t seem like staffing was the issue. Food was average at best. My shrimp enchiladas, served with the wrong sides, had stale tortillas. My Bloody Maria was excellent. Though it took 40 minutes to receive, I’m glad I had the drink to help pass the hours. On top of all this, the manager was pathetic. Instead of coming out and saying something to us, I had to find him after the third hour. When I did and asked him why every single part of this service was so delayed, his first response was to tell me that “this is why we usually don’t allow separate checks.” I told him that he should have said this three hours earlier, and that the separate checks did not explain why all of our service – drinks, dinners, etc – were so delayed. He said nothing, turned and walked upstairs. Do yourselves a favor and find another place to dine.

Honest review: we went to dinner last night for my cousins birthday. We looked it up because we are all younge adults and obviously would like to split the check there was 11 of us in total. When we went online it clearly said they would not split checks IF the party was 20 people and over. When we arrived the hostes advices us that the checks would not be separated if we chose to sit together. We were confused but finally another lady came out and just pushed the tables together which was a circle table and a square one. It was very uncomfortable but we assumed because of the horrible seating our checks would be split (we did not complain) when the checks came, we were unable to split the checks so my friends sat and made calculations as to what everyones plate was worth basically splitting the check outselves. We would have all equally split the check but the plates differed from 12-50 dollars. We did not want anyone to have to pay for something they didnt get. It took them a while of course and during that time the lady that was training our waiter would answer questions in a very rude manner as well as eyeing us through our process of dividing the check. We all felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable and I truly got upset because it was my cousins birthday and I dont feel like she should have felt that way on her special day. However, our original waiter was very patient and nice but her attitude Just overshadowed him. Food: My plate was not necessarily my favorite but everyone else seemed to enjoy the food. (Good example of how bad service can kill the whole experience)

DONT ASK DONT TELL!!! before you order for happy hour at the iron cactus in down town dallas, be sure to ask them what drinks and what appetizers are half price.there is no seperate menue telling you the happy hour prices and the waitresses are not allowed to tell you either, so I didnt know until I recieved the bill that the drinks the waitress recomended were not half price or the apatizer I ordered. She recomended I speak to the manager when questioned why it wasnt advertised at the resterraunt or at least mentioned by the waitress when taking orders since it was happy hour and most people go to happy hour for the deals.(its mentioned on the website but most people dont go on the website before visiting a resterraunt especially if you just happen to pass by and go on a whim )when the manager Phillip was approaching the table he looked like he was was preparing for battle, so I knew me asking a question wouldnt go well, when asked why it wasnt advertised or mention by the waitress that only certain margaritas or appetizers were half price ,he told me i was an idiot to think all appetizers and all margaritas were half price!! I was embaresed and just told him i didnt want to argue, payed my bill and left.I dont like the fact that certain businesses try to get over on costumers by trying to get what they cant get out of them by doing something so sneaky as to not tell customers or have a menue with half price items if its certain not all items that are half price during happy hour, whats the harm in that?respect your customers not blind side them!!

Iron Cactus looks like a very nice place and I had been wanting to go for a while, and now I regret it! We went for my friends birthday dinner and it was a total disaster. We arrived around 7:40pm to get some tables since we had about 15 people coming. They told us it would be about an hour wait. We didnt get seated until 10:00pm! That was over TWO hours of wait time. While we were waiting and continuously asking about our table, the hosts were not helpful at all and it was obvious they did not want to be bothered. When we finally got our tables, the host sat us in 3 different tables that were in different parts of the room! The birthday girl pretty much sat by herself since we had to be divided! And when two tables opened up next to us, they did no offer to move us there (our food or drinks had not arrived) in order to be more accomodating. The waitress was terrible and kept ignoring us when we needed something. The only reason we left a tip was because it was included in the bill (which is probably why the service is so terrible)! I order the burrito and it was pretty good, but my boyfriend ordered some tacos and said they were terrible and did not finish them. We had to ask for refills on drinks when we needed them because our waitress kept disappearing. Then, while we were eating, the bus boy (or waiter?) started cleaning around us, mopping, and cleaning tables, because it was almost closing time. It made us feel rushed and was very rude. This was probably the worst dinner experience ever and will not be returning.
