We really wanted to like this place.I dont think Ive ever asked for a refund on a meal in my life and Im in my 40s, so Im not particularly hard to please. I started making a point of eating healthy and avoiding gluten a couple of years ago so this restaurant sounded like a good one to try. Our meal was not good. It probably didnt help that the cashier seemed like he was stoned - he answered questions vaguely, but since wed read positive reviews, we figured we probably couldnt go too far wrong with a burger, a savory chicken tater, and a chicken sandwich, plus some tater tots and an order of "homemade hummus." Since the menu board didnt go into details about what was in each item, we asked questions, but as I mentioned, he wasnt particularly helpful, so I was very surprised when I got my potato and it had blue cheese on it. I do not usually eat blue cheese - not a fan - but I figured it couldnt be too bad. And it wasnt that it was too bad - it was that the food had NO TASTE. At all. Savory is not a descriptor that should be used to describe this item. No seasonings, I guess, because it had no flavor and the chicken was dry. The dressing didnt add much other than moisture. I had to force myself to eat it. I thought my husband had the better meal with his burger, but he assured me this was not the case. He said you could tell it was good meat, but that it had no taste, either. He was disappointed. We tried the tots and they were ok. We tried the hummus that came with pre-packaged commercial bag of chips - meh. Our daughter said the same of her chicken sandwich - no taste. Im guessing maybe they dont use any seasonings? Or had someone new in the kitchen? Not sure, because the reviews were pretty positive. We saw the notes about the small portions not being worth the price, but because we eat pretty healthy, we were fine with paying more for a smaller amount of good quality food. Thats not what we received. At this point, Im really frustrated that I spent $30 of our eating out budget on such an unenjoyable meal.

My manager is a nutritionist and highly recommended this place. I was not impressed my first time coming here. Im all about eating healthy and for the convenience, as well as paying a little more for quality, if I believe its worth it. I bought a kids meal my first time visiting because I dont eat much, and was surprised that it was the same price as an adult meal. I decided to give it another try today, and truly feel like its overpriced for the quality, portion, and presentation of food, which doesnt include a drink. Im really not hard to please and I know not to expect restaurant quality, but I had expected more due to the pricing. Both times my order looked like it was quickly thrown together with no effort. The drive thru usually takes a while of waiting, even if no one is there (understandable because its all fresh), and Ive only placed an order for myself. The staff has only ever told me my total and handed me my food. I dont know if I would go back and doubt I would recommend it to someone. I like what they claim to stand for as far as health and freshness, but find it a little disappointing. If youre looking for a healthier option to fast food, this place is decent, but I havent been excited about it. Like most places, my food hasnt looked anything like the picture. Maybe I need to try eating inside.

Never wanted to try this place. It seemed so sloppy, and to be honest it reminded me of a bad case of diarrhea (you know youve made that correlation too at one point). But the boyfriend is a big fan and finally convinced me to try it. I had two bites of his double chili burger (chili mustard only) and it was good, didnt eat more than two bites that night because I wasnt hungry. Fast forward to a few months ago where I ordered my own burger (single chili cheeseburger) and it was delicious, different for me but different in a good way! Messy and thats still something that irks me but their endless supply of napkins makes it bearable! You can eat in your car or eat standing up on their stand up walk tables. Theirs parking, the lot on the opposite side is usually the best way to go since their lot gets full quick. Went here two nights ago around 11pm ( you know this place is 24hrs right?) and it satisfied my craving! Check this place out! Start Real Food Fast is best.

Went to the drive thru on Lemmon Ave. Silver dollar pancakes served on a piece of paper. Just enough syrup to line the bottom of the small container it was packaged in. Bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich that tasted like powdered eggs? They were absolutely not whole fresh eggs. I also asked for an egg white scramble and they had no idea how to make one. They gave me egg whites scrambled (might also be powdered) on top of uncooked spinach and red peppers. This made me think everything is already made and not cooked to order. My coffee was good even though I ordered a cappuccino. I also looked up the nutritional info on their site and there is way too much sodium in everything for this to be advertized as a healthy place to eat.

This place is awesome. The food is seriously good. My son loves the burgers, and START is the ONLY place in Dallas that seems to actually care about portion size and health. They have a childs burger that is ACTUALLY the correct size for a child. And its dang good too! Love their hummus too! You probably spend $3-5 more than you might expect at a traditional fast food place, but its really worth it. And the great selection of Childrens books is very helpful for keeping the young ones occupied.

Bravo for providing healthy, delicious, real food on the go! Several options for food sensitivities such as gluten and dairy free. Also, vegetarian and vegan options.Yes, the prices are higher, and I gladly pay them because Im eating real food similar to what I would prepare at home. If you want a cheaper, processed, pseudo-food meal loaded with preservatives and other non-food fillers and chemicals, head down the street, and youll find many options. As for me, I will stick with Start :)

Taste wise everything was decent but the portion size for the price was extremely off. I ordered off the kids menu chicken bites it was literally 5 tiny bits of chicken and the sides ..i wouldnt even call them that, came in those tiny plastic containers you put sauce in..they fit a "muffin" in one of those lol Not sure how i feel about this place iv never seen such a small kids meal and thats because i really dont eat much.

It was our first time there and we werent sure what would be good. But they went over the menu with us and suggested a few things. The quinoa burger was delicious, so delicious my boyfriend order a second one. They gave us a complimentary chocolate muffin and that of course was delicious, so I ordered some to go. Customer service was great. I Recommend to try this place at least once.
