El Toro has multiple restaurants in the Baytown area and they each seem to have their own feel. I am a regular at two of them and the difference between the atmosphere and decor are like the difference between night and day. The Garth Rd. location is my favorite as our family has shared so many happy memories there. This location is HUGE, decorated very nicely, has a bar area separate from the main dining room(s - yest there are multiple rooms!) Regardless of where you are in the restaurant, the music that is piped throughout is very loud which can make it hard to have a quiet conversation and is hard on people with hearing aids as they may have difficulty filtering out the background noise while trying to keep enough volume to hear someone speaking to them. The Bayway location is much smaller, more laid back and the noise level isnt nearly as deafening - a plus if you are hard of hearing or wear a hearing aid. One thing that both locations share in common though is delicious food! Things I have had and loved there include quesadillas, enchiladas, chalupas, tacos and fajitas! They have a nice variety to their menu offerings so pretty much anyone should be able to find something to eat!

While the food was tasty, served fast, and at a perfect temperature, if youre celiac, the wait staff isnt knowledgeable about dietary needs, so youre on your own. There are GF menus available through review services and they seemed reliable, but the staff couldnt speak to the ingredients or sources for their food. Stick to corn based items (hard shell tacos), chips and salsa, and their vegetables and you will likely be OK.

This is the first El Toro in Baytown and will always be the best. The food is better here than either of its counterparts and is my favorite place for enchiladas as their chili gravy is wonderful. However, they have several sauce options that are also excellent.

The oldest El Toro location in town, and the best IMHO. Easy to get into and out of, none of the grandiose stuff like youll see at their mega restaurant on Garth Rd. Good food, great atmosphere.
