We have been here several times before. The food is good... When your able to finally get it...but over priced and the service is ALWAYS Horrible. Our experience today will deter us from ever coming back to this place. After waiting over 20 mins for a table in this place a table finally opened up and was going to be cleared. 6 guys happen to walk into the cafe and the hostess was just off talking in the back somewhere to some lady not in the front like shes supposed to be so these guys just walk right in and go sit down without waiting (like the rest of us who were already and had been waiting) when we inform the manager what had happened he was a complete douchebag about it and didnt even seem to care that it was unfair to the people who had ready been here waiting for a table. We were hungry, at this point frustrated about the managers attitude about the situation so we just decided to leave. We will not be coming back to Annies Cafe. HORRIBLE SERVICE and shame on the manager for not being fair to the people who were already waiting!!!

Ive been to Annies a few times and Ive found that I like happy hour at the bar more than dinner in the dining room. The dining room seems to attract a more mature crowd and the dinner offerings didnt really stand out as particularly unique or high-quality. The happy hour is great though, they have some good appetizers and I like the cocktails. The staff here is very good; friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Theres a certain sense of professionalism here. The standout feature of Annies is the space. The front facade consists of floor to ceiling windows and its location on Congress makes you feel like youre still part of the city even when youre sitting inside. The building itself is one of the few classic buildings left downtown and has a lot of character. A while back, Annies was also selling their fresh bread. I liked stopping there on my way home to pick up a baguette. They stopped doing that, but its something Id like to see more places do. I goto Easy Tiger now for fresh bread.

Food was expensive, and lacked flavor. We choose to eat here prior to departing, and gave this place a chance do to good reviews. My wife and son both had a Burger, and were okay with those choices. The Club Wrap was the worst I have ever had. Turkey had no flavor and was over stuffed with spinach. I had to add mustard just to have some flavor on it. I eat my daughters club wrap because she would not eat it, and was still hungry after two club wraps. They were $11 each. You would think for $11 you would at least be full. The lady taking our order could not speak English well enough to be in her position, or answer simple questions about their menu. I would not recommend to anyone. The only reason I gave it two stars and not one, was the Burger my son ate and the portobello burger my wife ate were reasonable satisfying.

We had high hopes for a quality meal when we chose Annies to spend my husbands low-key birthday meal with friends. The staff was a bit snobby and didnt really seem very knowledgeable about the offerings--even though both the drink and dinner menu are not lengthly. The setting could really be nice, but it was overlit and felt somewhat cafeteria-like. Our waitress was very distracted and somewhat obnoxious. Our food was really just okay. DO NOT order the risotto of the day--I could have made better at home. And none of us really LOVED anything we had--it was all very mediocre. I feel we are usually very open to having either the service or the food maybe not be right on the money, but both in this case were very lacking. Sorry, I wanted to love this place so much but it is not to be. Hope they improve!

My husband and I checked out Annies on a Saturday afternoon. The service we received was among the worst ever. The restaurant was not busy and our order was simple: two sandwiches, a side salad and a cup of soup. (That was after waiting nearly 5 minutes for water.) After about 10 minutes, one of the sandwiches came out first, followed 10 minutes later by the salad and soup, the second sandwich (which was a cold sandwich) came out another 10 minutes after that. The waitress was rude and no one seemed to care about customer service. To top it off, one of the chefs came out to personally deliver the meal to three people at a nearby table that she apparently knew personally, but showed no interest in any other table. So unless you know someone who works there, I would STAY AWAY!

Quite possibly the worst service I have ever had. Went there for a late breakfast and the place was half full and almost seemed overstuffed. The waiter forgot my coffee and I proceeded to wait ten minutes for it to come while my colleague was waiting for her 2nd cup. Finally the coffee came and we ordered our food. We then waited 35 minutes for simple breakfast dishes. After finally tracking down our clueless waiter, he said our food should be right out. 10 minutes later and still no food. The manager walked by and we told him what was going on and to our surprise, he seemed even less interested in helping us get our food than the waitstaff. Finally, our food came and it was superbly average. Never did they offer any discount or sincere apologies. Terrible experience.

I honestly think that this place is too expensive for what it is. BUT it is delicious and everything always seems super fresh. I work right above here so Ive been about 3 times now (it would be more if it wasnt so expensive!). The fried egg sandwich (which is very simple and I could make it for like 2 dollars) is perfect because of the perfect sourdough bread. The best thing, however, is the tomato brie soup. This is the best tomato soup I have ever had in my life, hands down. That is a fairly reasonable price also, so Ive gotten it 2 out of the 3 times. This would be a really cute place for a nice date in the evening because it has a good atmosphere then, and you can get food that isnt too heavy.

We stopped by Annies because the atmosphere looked so inviting and they are reportedly famous for a pistachio parfait. The parfait was pretty good (although I wouldnt say one of the top 10 desserts in the nation as an article recently quoted). The most disappointing part was the bar service. My husband ordered a cocktail that was supposed to have cointreau in it. But, as we watched the bartender (who was not very warm or friendly) pour the drink, he substituted Triple Sec for cointreau-big no no if you are paying $10 for the drink and that is what is advertised. Anyways, we will not be stopping by again and the experience was much more disappointing than first glance.

I first heard of this place at AUS. I had a cheeseburger there and loved it so I proceeded by visiting the downtown location next. The food here is really good, but I ordered a cheeseburger and it was completely different to the airport location. It was twice as thick and raw (when I had asked for it well done) and the fries where also different. The only upside to that was that the staff was completely understanding and the cooked the burger a little bit longer. I dont know why exactly they would make the cheeseburgers differently but they should fix that. Aside from that I recommend the pizza, its delicious!
