The food isnt quite as good as other La Madeleine restaurants I have been to, and the service is the worst I have been to. I really enjoy the cuisine and atmosphere of the La Madeleine chain, however this location is so frustrating! The larger, bearded, male chef is extremely rude, especially when people dont understand that it isnt his job to serve food. It is hard to understand if you havent worked in the food industry that even if someone is at the front, it may not be there job to serve you. Yet, it is common courtesy to assure your customers they will be helped soon, or even just go ahead and help someone if they need it. It takes about 10 minutes for any employee to help you, even when there isnt anyone else there. Getting the yummy food at the end is the only thing that makes going to this location tolerable! We go there about once a week, at all different times of the day, and it is ALWAYS the same. So unfortunately since I do love La Madeleine!

My latest visit to this location was very unpleasant. I generally love thier food but this North Arlington locations service has not been good...people just dont seem to be on top of things. Tonight I ordered Beef Bourguignon for the first time...it was horrible. The beef which I was expecting to be fork tender was tough...Like I had to use my knife with about 4 or 5 swipes to cut through it! I complained politely to the manager telling him how tough it was he proceeded to tell me it was the cut of meat and the process they are told to cook it that makes it turn out tough...what??! I told him well you have to cook the meat longer with a stew...this is not good french cooking. Anyway if anyone from Le Madeleine reads this please get your act together with the Beef Bourguignon. My French friend agreed it should be very tender meat..

The la Madeline by the mall is AMAZING. This one is enough to make me stop going to la Madeline altogether. I called my order in at 11am for 12pm pick up. When I got there, my order was wrong. That didnt stop them from charging me more for the other item. I get my $12 food to work so I can eat after having to wait for then to get my order right. I open my strawberries and eat 2 then pull one out and it has MOLD on it! I look at the others in the container and one is ROTTING! This is COMPLETELY unacceptable. My steamed broccoli was extremely under done and had no flavor. Now Im afraid to eat my chicken salad sandwich because I dont know what is in it. I am very disappointed. I will not EVER come back to this la Madeline. The manager and staff should be ashamed and embarrassed to give this food to people.

Adelaide Garner has apparently never worked in food service before. Ergo, would someone walk into lets say, Olive Garden and walk into the kitchen and ask a cook to take their order?! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Being understaffed and constantly having trainees in all positions minus the management and the cook is a bad equation for any restaurant and all restaurants. I can assure you that Steven was either EXTREMELY busy or something else required his attention. Yeah... one thing people need to understand about working in BoH is we do that for a reason, its not that we DONT have customer service skills.. its that our jobs entail us NOT to hone them, if a cook had to take orders, deal with customers AND cook?!?! (S)He should have been being paid as a keyholder and making salary. End Rant

The atmosphere is a bit campy and sos the "bonjour!" when you come near the ordering station on arrival. The food actually tastes pretty good most of the time. Ive had several of the entreés - Pasta La Madeleine (very tasty), Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta (very rich), Croque Monsieur (not my fav, but I dont care for Swiss), Balsamic-Marinated Chicken Caesar (get a side of it without chicken almost every visit), and most recently the Mediterranean Paella (will not get again). Im a bit bothered by all of the back-and-forth yelling between co-workers because its never work related but I understand you want to enjoy where you work. I saved the best for last, and its what keeps me coming back, the Lemon White Chocolate Chunk Cookies! These are divine.

Mark is an absolute ass. As a manager, he has zero tolerance for customers or employees alike and treats people like children. I have witnessed him blatantly get frustrated at a customer for not speaking English and told her that she needed to speak English in a very condescending tone. As the wife of this locations most valuable employee, he treats me with such disrespect that Ive sworn off even going inside this poorly managed establishment. An employee with an almost 20 year señority, should NOT be making the same wage as a new employee, either. This location really needs to get their act together. Management and employees.

I recently met some friends here for breakfast (as I always do every home game) and afterwards, jumped into 1 car to go to the game. Upon returning 4 hours later, my car was gone.. towed. The towing company said that the Manager on duty called it in. After following up a couple of days later, I am getting the run around. There are signs that say no parking if you arent doing business, but NO SIGNS stating you can only park there for a certain time period after you eat. I was a huge fan of la Madeleine, but not any more.. great way to treat loyal customers.

pricey and very disappointing. its sad that the deli down the street in Lincoln center serves better French onion soup than this so called French bistro. a handful of cold cheese on a piece of toast does not make it French onion soup. lastly, the visible irritation and inconvenience in the eyes of the greasy faced blonde girl behind the counter when asked if this was normally how they served French onion soup was straight out of the how not help customers handbook.

Almost worth 5-stars except it has been getting a little dirty and smoky lately (from cooking). Ill up it to 5 once cleaned. To the food... Very good, well prepared lunch, brunch, and dinner items. Best at bread, soup and salads. Best coffee in N. Arlington (French Roast). Leagues better than Starbucks for "regular" non-espresso coffee. Fresh brewed iced tea also tops. Cozy, especially on a cold next to the fire with me lady. :)

French Cuisine is served here. Be honest its usually very pricey, I took someone there and for a cup of strawberries it was 10 bucks creating a new joke in my circles as "the golden strawberries" though the dish is meant to be covered in chocolate and other stuff the person didnt want them the place still charged the same price lol.. Other then that foods good but expect to pay for it.

The food is good but the service??? They never seem to want to take your order, they dont help you through their process of line/self-serve, and they are not very friendly. Several visits have all had similar problems... I dont get what I order in a timely fashion, they didnt put cheese on the Caesar salad, my food was cold, etc...but mostly--- the staff doesnt seem to care at ALL!
