Everything that could have possibly gone wrong, went wrong on my outing here. We were promptly greeted by a wheezing and coughing hostess. Young lady seemed to be very ill, and should not have been there. We were then seated in an area that made me yearn for my time on submarine. Seriously, sardines would have been complaining about the close quarters. A server then walked over, with his face firmly planted in his phone and asked us what we would like to order. Now, I didnt know it at the time, but apparently this is how they actually take orders, via an app on the phone. I still feel the server should greet us properly, and it was very off-putting. The taking of the order was another hiccup, as I didnt feel like reading through the 60 or so pre-packaged breakfast plates. I tried to order 2 eggs scrambled, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 biscuits with sausage gravy (yes Im fat!) This seemed to create a moment of panic, as the server then took my menu, and began suggesting items from it that were "close" to what I wanted. Once that was settled (or not) I had to change my order, as he read it back to me as eggs over-medium. When I corrected him saying I had asked for scrambled, he said "So you want to change your order?" Extremely rude. Now, the order did arrive in good time, but this was spoiled by the fact it was wrong. Server did correct it quickly. Meal was decent enough, but I cant imagine a more bland sausage gravy having ever been created. In our party of 4, one person had coffee and 3 of us had water. Friends coffee was never refilled, and water refills came about the time we were ready to leave. Meal was decently priced. Also, the parking lot here is undersized, and difficult to manuever in. In fairness, the 2 friends who had been there before, said this was a strange occurance. They had really enjoyed their previous visits. I doubt Ill ever know, as I probably cant force myself to return here.

Very disappointed. Came in because I heard it was good. All meat bacon, sausage and ham tasted like old grease, like you havent changed your fry daddy in months . I hate the cell phone ordering made me feel disrespected that my waitress wasnt talking to me but texting instead. Something a teenager would do not a professional in business. The waitress was sweet but uneducated on their own menu. Total disappointment, will not come back. IHOP and our place are so much better with service and quality of food. I hate leaving bad reviews but thought I would be honest for other people that might be misled to expect high value and quality. Once again let me stress the waitress was a sweetheart, dont know her name but the only positive thing I can say in the entire experience.

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Had already been waiting an hour and then I overheard them say they werent seating anyone for 10 minutes so the kitchen could catch up. Then 30 minutes later they were still not sitting people and telling them just ten more minutes. Never making any kind of effort to let the people sitting outside in the 100 degree heat know that it was going to be an hour longer. Instead they waited for those people to come in an ask what was going on. This was my first and last time ever coming here.

My husband & I tried this place for breakfast. It was a very wonderful experience. The wait staff & management were very cordial. Very quaint, down-home atmosphere. They have several varieties of pancakes. The lemon was absolutely delicious & was large enough to almost cover the entire plate! We paid $24.00 with only water. For that price, youd do better going to a breakfast buffet, but it was worth it, in this case. We will be going again soon for breakfast & to try out the lunch menu.

The food is always excellent, they are pretry quick to provide service, the food comes out pretty quickly, every thing is pretty well above average. I gave them 3 starts, because theit coffee, is WAY TOO HOT. Everytime I go it seems I forget that their coffee is so hot and when I drink it without adding at a minimum of 5 peices of ice to cool it down to pretty hot coffee. Seriously, they need to figure out how to cool this off a little. It shouldnt scald ones mouth when they drink it.

Omg great pancakes theyre HUGE. I had the lemon blueberry pancake it was awesome the wife had a buttermilk pancake and that was awesome as well. These pancakes were sooooo good the only gripe is a pancake that good deserves REAL MAPLE SYRUP not the table fake corn syrup breakfast syrup that they had. Our server wasnt from Texas but she had plenty of charm and very engaging. this place is definitely a cool place to eat huge portions at great prices. Amber was our server nice kid :)

That was a grudging single star. I did not enjoy our first visit to Oldwest Cafe, and so will never return. Lets see, the menu is rediculous and navigatable. They have made up lousy name for everything that in no way describe the food so you are forced to read every description. The food itself is under par even for a cafe and Oldwest Cafe fancies themselves worth top dollar pricing. The food is not worth the cost, the service is lacking and the general quality is sad

Very good food and nice staff, they lose one star for not having a big enough building for everyone, this is one thing the local place called jay jays has, enough seating for a large crowd, this place is small so naturally there is a wait....and parking lot is the same, no place to park as its always crowded, I do go once a year or so but I cant deal with the crowds there to make it a regular but when I do go, I am in heaven with the food......
