Oh, dearest dozen, how I really, really want to give you my love! Again today, and sadly this time for the fifth and final time did you let me down brutally. I am often seeking the comfort of a cookie, madeline, or on this festive occasion even a couple slices of pie. But after taking my order, and payment you were out of coffee. And the stuff you did manage to serve was as old and cold as my once hopeful heart has grown. No matter the time of day, or day of the week, with every stop into this place there is never coffee ready, and ultimately I am offered whatever has been left to burn bitterly at the bottom of the pot. 5 times in a row. Hardly consolation, especially with treats in hand. The baked goods are suitable, and reliably as promised and straightforward to description, though often less imaginative than the space might lead you to hope. Sandwiches can be hit and miss, but with artful salads made in house pulling weight where their sometimes dry fillings fail to wow. The real problem is that it just takes too long to get them. 20 minutes for a slice of pie. Dog only knows how long it wouldve been had I waited for fresh coffee to be brewed. The pastries are alright, the staff is kind and the atmosphere suits the building. Somehow though, they just cant pull it all together. I tried. I promise I really, really tried.

I have to agree with the comment by Blake F. I was a traveling salesman for years and have been all over the U.S. so imagine my surprise when I found authentic croissants in Nashville! The bread and pastries are the star of the show but you can also find light, European style lunch and breakfast options. They are busy on the weekends but not as crowded as some other brunch spots. Perhaps because they are a little off the beaten path in the industrial area of Wedgewood Houston. Call ahead for special occasions to make sure they have enough of your favorites especially during the holidays. If you dont feel like driving down there, their pastries are also sold at Marché Artisan and Ugly Mugs in East Nashville, and at many other establishments throughout the city. I feel bad for Fiona and her disappointing coffee experience. Theyve always had coffee ready everytime I go. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The place is always clean and tidy. Parking is easy and free at the adjacent gravel lot. Dozen Bakery is truly a Nashville gem and their pastries are worthy of international acclaim.

Dozen Bakery is a rarity - its so hard to find high-quality, GMO-free, often locally-sourced food in a cafe or restaurant, but Dozen Bakery has all this. And many of the ingredients are also organic. The baked goods are fantastic. Ill be surprised if anyone finds a croissant as good as theirs outside of Paris. The cookies, scones, tartines, and shortbread are delicious - Id say perfect. The other day daughter and I had a slice of lemon lavender pie and it was out of this world. Although I live in Williamson County, I go out of my way to come to Dozen Bakery whenever my family and I feel like eating out for special occasions or for a casual lunch. After enjoying the food and pleasant atmosphere (the service is very friendly and courteous), I stock up on the baked goodies to take home with me for my family to enjoy through the week. The oatmeal bread is terrific for sandwiches and freezes well. And every Thanksgiving and Christmas I order one of the Dozen Bakery pies or galettes. My family loves them!

I work down the street from Dozen and eat lunch here probably twice per week. In Nashville, it can be hard to find a place that accommodates my diet (pescatarian) with healthy, delicious, protein-rich foods that actually fill you up. Dozen always has a good selection of vegetarian/vegan/pescetarian friendly meals that change with the season. Im always impressed with the complex flavor pairings. And dont even get me started on the baked goodies... muffins, madeleines, galetes, breads, PIE... the list goes on and you wont be disappointed. Also, they have the best breakfast sandwich in Nashville: egg, pesto, tomato, avocado, and cheese on house-made oatmeal bread.

The crew at Dozen went above and beyond for me during a week when I was delivering tasty treats to clients every day. They were so accommodating and baked up fresh Bacon Cheddar Scones and Blueberry muffins each morning, boxed them up according to a list I gave them, and then helped me to my car every morning. The pastries were gobbled up in every office to which I delivered them, and I snacked on them myself when we had some extra. Great food, great service, and a great location!

This place is worth the detour. The baguettes themselves are very tasty, but combined with the toppings they make for a great sandwich (had the roasted lamb with fennel carrot coleslaw and pickled jalapenos). The coffee is good. We had some of their pastries at another place, which are also very good. The major disadvantage is that some things like sandwiches and croissants are quite expensive, although some other pastries and the coffee are very reasonably priced.

I was amazed by the wonderful selection of items. I didnt sample anything personally, though I did purchase a few dozen cookies, 4 muffins and 4 scones. Everyone who tried them were extremely pleased. Ill have to make an effort to get there earlier in the morning in order to avoid missing out on any of their items as they tend to sell out of a few things each morning.

The best bakery Ive been to in the US. They are where you go for pastries that TASTE amazing. All too often, bakeries focus on appearance more than taste. This place is the exception. Unique flavor combinations, amazingly executed staples, and a friendly staff. Only down sides are that its not closer to where I live.

Got an afternoon dessert for a snack while on our honeymoon in Nashville. Had the Black and Tan brownie and my hubby got the Snickerdoodle cookie. As a baker myself, it was the perfect amount of goo! I didnt get a bite of the cookie though. Would go back to try other delish looking goodies! Cool space too

Awesome spot! We went for sourdough bread and HAD TO GO BACK for more. Stocked up on snacks for the next leg of our road trip to Seattle. Get the DELECTABLE HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANTS, molasses cookies, chocolate chip cookies, snicker doodles and so much more. Great staff too - check this place out!

Dozen bakery is so good. It will teach you what bread can be and make you realize that youve been eating something lesser all of your life. It doesnt get better in Nashville, and probably the southeast, if not the whole wide world. Seriously, dont think twice, go there now. You will be completed.

Best Fresh Bread, Coffee, Salads in Nashville. They stay open right until their closing time, came in 4 mins before closing and was happily greeted. A Nashville Gem for sure and a lifesaver when you have French onion soup on the stove and realize you have no baguette. Thanks Dozen Bakery!
