After wondering around downtown Nashville for a bit and checking out some of the sights we decided that we should probably eat. We checked out Yelp as well as Google Maps and was able to find B.A.D. We really didnt want to spend a ton of money on dinner - but we didnt want something like McDonalds so we felt this was a good compromise as the prices were reasonable. We wondered around for a bit before we actually found this location - as they literally are down an alleyway. We walked in and found a seat. They were not busy - but they were not slow either. It was a good mix. Our server came over right away and took our drink order. They did seem to be more of a bar than a restaurant but that is besides the point. They listed out all their specials and unfortunately on Friday nights the only special is $4 fireball shots. We ordered chips as the appetizer. They make them in house and are amazing. They are cooked and salted to perfection! We ended up doing burgers - I went with the Mega Titan Burger and my other half went with the fork and knife burger. Our wait time for our food was not long at all. But it wasnt so soon that we couldnt enjoy the chips. The burgers are seasoned to perfection - to the point I wanted to storm the kitchen and steal it all so I could re-create the same burgers at home. The burgers were cooked to perfection as well. They were juicy and just full of flavor. The knife and fork burger comes with chili on top (hence the name) and I hear it was amazing as well. Our server was great. She was friendly, offered suggestions, and kept our drinks full. She was very attentive to our needs. If youre looking for a burger in the downtown area - check them out. Theyre worth the hunt!

My experience tonight was horrible. The bartender Sara was extremely rude and I was buying a fellow customer a beer after a misunderstanding and she ignored me. I had to ask her three times before she finally served the drink to the customer Steve. I talked with Steve for about 15 minutes about bars in the area and made a comment that my favorite bartender was Kate. When I approached my friend to leave, Sara decided to voice her opinion to me. She said I had a complaint from Steve and I informed her that we worked it out. Then, she started to argue with me saying I heard what you said about me. I didnt deny it. I have every right as a regular customer to voice my opinion on customer service. Sara is always rude and I got frustrated that she wanted to start arguing. I then proceeded to leave, and had to walk back in when another employee, heavy set, young female, curly hair, nudged me and told me to get out of the bar. I frankly find it extremely upsetting and unprofessional to have an employee from Back Alley Diner approach me in a meaner which I felt threatened. I will never return to the establishment until the employees who threatened me and physically touched me be disciplined. I have been a customer for five years and Sara and her coworker made me feel threatened and unwelcomed. Horrible service, Rude employees, and employees drinking on the job and acting like kids. Richard is the only one who was professional enough to difuse situation. Very disappointed in the lack of respect and horrible customer service provided tonight.

Terrible service! My group of 3 was seated within 5 minutes of walking in. About 12:10. We place our order almost immediately. We received drinks in about 5 more minutes. Now the problem starts. It was 12:35 and we havent received any food. We asked our waitress to check on our food, she said its coming in a few minutes instead of checking. She then proceeded to stand around chit chatting with the other waitress. We then asked where the manager was and were told there is no manager. Obviously thats the problem. A young guy came over and asked what was happening. By this time it was 12:42. We told him were pissed because its been close to 35 minutes with no food still and all we ordered was two burgers and chicken tenders. He did what he could to get the food out to us. He bagged it up and had it rang up half off. So he is a good employee but our experience was bad enough to never go back. When co workers asked where we went for lunch and told them what happened, they said they have heard that about this place before. There you have it. Your bad reputation is getting around with locals. Obviously this is a tourist trap and we wont be back.

Literally in an alley. The food was pretty good and the prices were great. I like that they found a non-traditional place to be but the alley was kind of nasty the night we walked down it. Plus, navigating around dumpsters in the dark wasnt really ideal. Had we walked to it from a different direction it would have been much better. Decent beer selection, especially local craft beers. Our server was cool and the food hit the spot. If you are coming from the performing arts center the walk is perfect.

Went here June 17 with family! Went here completely on a whim and wanting to try something! We ordered cheese sticks quesadillas, spicy chicken sandwich, and catfish PO boy! All were pretty good chicken sandwich was tender and juicy just not really spicy! One quesadilla was pulled pork and one was chicken both were pretty good just needed more cheese all the toppings were falling out because it was nothing holding them in! Great little adventure find!

2 days ago, Food was not that great (COLD GRILLED onions, cheese not melted on grilled cheese and etc). Place smelled like a dirty rag nd it was HORRIBLE service! It was not busy at all and we made eye contact with our waiter multiple times and he ignored us. We finally got the attention of another waiter to get a refill on drinks. Asked for our checks and that took forever. Seriously SLOW service. They live up to the name of BAD food. BAD service.

We live right across the street and eat there two or three times a week. Best french fries Ive ever had. Cat fish got my wifes mothers approval. Shes an old-southern cook so thats saying a lot. In fact, weve never brought anyone there who didnt like it. Theres nothing I care for in the draught beer selection, (nothing dark enough for me). Thats my taste in beer right? You might love it. Doesnt affect my rating.

Not that it is the best food I ever had, nor is it the best looking place Ive ever been. But somehow it just seems to make sense. It is just a little gem, that you actually have look for. Once there, it has a great atmosphere, the waitresses are, the fries are crispy and the burgers are juicy with nice toasty buns. Definitely going to go again and take some friends with me.

the place smelled like stall beer. I know its mainly a bar, but doesnt have to stink. The sign warns you of bad service and it truly is. Hush puppies were totally raw inside and we had to go find the server because they never came to our table to check on us, we were one of two tables there. Burgers were ok, not as great as reviews said.
