This is the best reasonably priced restaurant in Pensacola serving both down-home southern and local seafood meals. They let me sit there all morning working on my book on Russian history without pressuring me to leave. Of course it was only reciprocal for me to leave a fat tip. If youre stuck at AWFUL HOUSE for breakfast, drive a little farther and pay the same or less than the universal A.W. charges for its cold plate special and eat actually chef-cooked meals instead of watching ol Slim stand on his aching 12-hour feet (poor guy) slinging orders around as best he can. No slam on Slim, but try the Scenic Highway 90 where you can relax while you eat and dont feel like you had better gulp quick and get out before the pack of starving truck-drivers behind you suddenly throw you off your stool and finish off your grits.

Terrible service, overpriced everything, absolutely ice cold inside and food was mediocre at best. We had a few oysters that were sickly looking and inedible on both platters and my gyro was the most awful dried out piece of grisly dead meat live ever been served. I noticed the male waiter we had was cussing our presence while he thought he was out of earshot and sight but I caught his ugly attitude by chance angle of sight. We were a last minute closing time large table I understand this dilemma....but you make sure youre out back of the place before you unleash your foul and childish angers over having to do your job. Although quaint and in a neat area of town, I wont return or recommend this to anyone.

So, very popular place. Almost always crowded. The veggies are pretty tinny tasting, out of a can. Sometimes overly salty. I refer to this food as upscale nursing home. Order anything with a cream sauce, such as pasta, and it will be swimming in sauce. Classic diner dishes go over much better-burgers and fries are good. Breakfast is also much better than chain resturants that might tempt you. Service is almost always excellent. Deserts are good. Deserving of an entirely different level of praise-the only place in town that serves an ice cream sundae. The real deal. So, go for classic diner food and stay away from anything that sounds challenging to prepare.

We are lucky to live around the corner from this local gem. Great food and a neat atmosphere. The value cannot be beat, they have specials daily, and the portions are plentiful. This is not your average diner. Pretty much everything is delicious, from the pancakes, fresh squeezed oj, to the creative sandwiches like the vegetarian poboy with fried green tomatoes, and the entrees such as shrimp and crawfish Savannah. If youre into desserts they have a varied selection, the coconut cream pie is the bomb. Servers are super friendly and accommodating, especially Denise. Highly recommend.

This restaurant has a fun atmosphere, friendly wait staff and incredibly fast food. However, we were not impressed by any of it. I had a soup and entree and my husband had a breakfast plate. I felt like it was all food we could get elsewhere and not of the highest quality. There was nothing wrong with the food, but it was very plain and not unique. Prices were good, though and the service made up for it. Very family friendly, we were seated near other families with small children and that added fun to the experience since we got to chatting with some of the other diners.

My cousin and I go to school in this area, and weve been to this diner every Thursday evening for 14 straight weeks. Weve tried to order something new every week, but by the 4th week or so, we found our favorite dishes and ordered them almost every time after! There has never been a time that weve visited that we did not order a side (or 2 or 3) of fries :) Plus, the service is super friendly and they enjoy getting to know the customers. Weve recommended Scenic 90 Cafe to several of our friends - who also ended up visiting here.

My husband and I took our 3 children on a Saturday morning for lunch and we were not impressed in the least. The sides were okay, nothing to remember but standard. The entrées, including the meatloaf, spaghetti, pot roast, grilled cheese, and a sandwich were simply not good in our option. Not just nothing amazing, but as in we didnt eat them not good. Sadly disappointed, not to mention it was $50 for lunch. The decor was timeless as a diner style, but we wont be returning.

Good concept on food and cute spot, but ours was poor execution. Ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and the flakey pastry top was so overcooked it was inedible, the Scenic Burger had a strange flavor not sure what spice was in it...very different. Chocolate malt didnt have much malt to it. The sides reminded us of cafeteria food. Best part of our meal was his french fries and my pink lemonade.

First off: bring a sweater - they keep it cold here! The food is excellent, and the prices are really reasonable. Their burgers are really good, and all sandwiches come with your pick of a wide selection of "vegetables." The "vegetables" on the menu really means any side on the menu. The Mac and cheese is really good, and so is the "white trash hash." Try their cream cheese pecan pie!

I love breakfast here! Lunch and supper are always okay, but breakfast is always awesome! (Based on the few times I ordered something besides breakfast.) The omelets are my favorite. The service sometimes drags a little, but I still love it here! I dont go, if I am in a hurry. Totally worth the price and the drive for breakfast. Sometimes dinner entres are pricey. Just depends.

The food here is surprisingly pretty good for a diner. I never would have expected jambalaya to be that good from here. Unfortunately the service isnt great. We came here twoce to eat and play board games with friends. They are never polite about our game and make it very clear they dont want us there, even though they only have a few customers so we arent hogging a table.

Would not recommend this place to ANYONE. The food was WAY BELOW MEDIOCRE. We got a turkey wrap and a normal cheese burger and both tasted worse than cardboard. Not to mention our waitress RAZ or rahz or what ever her stupid name is.... was a brainless idiot. Every time I said anything she looked at me like she couldnt comprehend basic English.

Good food. Variety. Friendly. Neighborhood clients. Train like silver cafe restaurant along Scenic Highway, scenic drive off US I-10 Pensacola Florida. A distance, but if headed this way, worth the extra 30 minutes. Love their shrimp & crayfish savannah dish. Great wait staff n coffee. Homemade deserts.

Just left this unique cafe and not much to talk about. First we tried 2 of the house dressing and both were as bad as any off brand you can buy. Next was the cold beef tips, mac and cheese(gritty) and 7 tiny beef tips at best. The prices reflected diffirent then what was on line. WE WONT GO BACK.

The food is here is wonderful. My favorite is the Philly Cheese Steak and a wedge salad. They say the salad dressings are made from scratch. I believe it as they are so good. The service at times can be a little spotty. All in all dont miss a chance to eat here as you will not be disappointed.
