EXCELLENT FOOD - REASONABLY PRICED - FRIENDLY BUT INCOMPETENT SERVICE I give three stars because we love the food so much. It is my favorite Mexican food in Murfreesboro but the service has disappointed us too many times. We started eating here many years ago, before it became so popular, and the food and services was very good. The food is still excellent but when they become busy (any night of the week) the kitchen becomes overwhelmed and lately our story is always the same. Heres how it usually goes: We order our food, a normal amount of time passes, and our first plate arrives. "Hooray, time to eat!" Then we wait 5 minutes and a second plate arrives, "hooray, were finally eating! Surely the rest of the food is right behind?" Then 5 more minutes pass and another plate that looks exactly like mine, but isnt mine, walks right past our table. "Aw dang! Were they here before me?" Then many more plates walk by and “I want to go home!" exclaims my younger child. And so on, and so on. Were usually a table of 4 or less and we always seem to get our plates one-at-a-time, and 5 minutes apart. Too many times Ive watched people finish their meals while others have no food. Yet I keep going back because the food is so good and the price is right. The place has maybe 15 tables yet theres always a party of 20, and that is what screws them up. The staff cant handle it. Last night was the final straw. We put in our food order and 3 minutes later they delivered my plate and no others, of course, and it looked like it had been sitting in the window for 20 minutes. "Gee, I wonder how this happened. How did they know what I was going to order before I even got here" Nevertheless, I still wanted to eat my aging food so I patiently began waiting for the other food to arrive. 20 MINUTES LATER we had lost track of time as we were having fun and when looked at the clock on my phone I could not believe my eyes. My food is possibly 40 minutes old, while nobody else has any food at all. Unbelievable! We all agreed we should stand up and walk out, so we did. I dropped some cash on the table to pay for my plate and the two (long gone) margaritas we had ordered. On my way out, I stopped to say goodbye to our server and explain my dissatisfaction, however I dont think she understood a word. Her response was a whole lot of smiles and nodding. I quickly realized I was talking to a dashboard bobble-head doll, so I turned and left without logging a complaint. That is why Im writing my first ever on line review (of anything) today. They need to know what a screw up theyve become. I can forgive once or twice but it is getting ridiculous at this place. Let me be clear: It wasnt the nice server with few English words who upset me and caused me to leave. (I apologize for the bobble head remark but I’m leaving it in because it paints the perfect picture) Rather, I’m convinced it is the incompetent kitchen staff with their delicious recipes that caused such a disappointing evening. This is the 3rd time Ive declared out loud in the parking lot “Were not coming back here ever again !" This time I mean it, MI Patria! You do not deserve my business anymore! I do love your food but your service gives me heartburn. You need to learn how to get your food out on time and all at once. To be fair, this place really does have excellent food and is reasonably priced. They are always packed at dinner time. If you love Mexican food, dont care about service, and want to save a buck, then Mi Patria will be an awesome experience for you. Maybe Ill start going at lunch time.

Im not sure how long this place has been in town, but it has definitely been an oversight on our part that we have not dined there until this past week. What a pleasure! The service was very good. Definitely an English-as-second-language staff, but where there were language barriers they made up for it with genuine, eager to please graciousness. More importantly, they didnt give up trying until they repeated back what they thought we said and got it right. I know some people in town hate it went a Mexican restaurant has a Mexican staff. Too bad for them. The food was delicious and, though it had taken some time up-front to get our questions answered, we both got exactly what we were expecting when our orders arrived. The meal was priced right. We got out of their for just over 40 bucks, which included Margaritas. The Margs were, admittedly, not up to what I prefer, but they were on the rocks, the way we like them, not too obviously "mixy," and the servings were more than generous for the price, as alcohol goes, anyway.

Wow. They clearly have a problem with customer service. Me and my fiancee went in and we were seated immediately, however that was the extent of any hint of service. The server took about 10 minutes to come get our drink order. Then it took him over 5 minutes to get the drinks to our table. Then we waited almost 30 minutes before he came back to take our order. When the food came, the plates were cold, indicating the food sat in the kitchen for some time before it was brought out. My fiancee did not receive 1/2 of his order. The sever then did not check on us again. We had to wave him down for a check. The problem was he had a party on an 8 top and was clearly more worried about his tip from that party. We should have been assigned a server that was not dealing with a party. Horrible service from the dining room. I will probably never go back. There is better Mexican in antioch! Smh....pffft.

This is easily the best Mexican restaurant Ive ever eaten at, and as a bit of a Mexican connoisseur (who even spent a period working at a Mexican restaurant), I do not say that lightly. The salsa is the perfect consistency. The chips are always perfectly cooked, not too much or too little. Every single thing they cook is well made and tastes like it had real care put into it. And this isnt just every other Mexican menu, either. The chef came up with a lot, and I mean a LOT, of specialty dishes on top of the usual fare, and they actually work. Not to mention the servers are consistently kind and attentive no matter when you go there. And, as for atmosphere, as opposed to every single other Mexican place with its same dark, drab interior, this restaurants interior is made up to look like a classic, authentic Mexican outdoor cafe, complete with cloudy sky painted on the ceiling.

What experience of my life. The supervisor was completely rude and disrespectful. I found a piece of stone plate in my rice and chopped my back tooth. When we called it to her attention she took the piece of stone away for I could get a picture of it. My boyfriend was beyond mad and when we went to pay for our food she acted like nothing happened. My mouth is hurting so bad I just walk out to the car and let my boyfriend deal with her. Long story short she threatened to call the cops because we didnt think we should have to pay the hole bill. I wished she did I would of field a report. Now I have to go the the dentist and pay to have something that was completely out of my control.
