Right away walking in me and my family already felt unwelcome as the waitress asked if I had another shirt, as I was wearing a tanktop. She then proceeded to hand me a business shift in front of everyone. As if that wasnt enough, many people in the restaurant decided to stare me down even after I had put on the shirt. And then I had to complete the embarrassing task of handing the shirt back to the waitress. But walking to the bathroom I saw a lady with a spaghetti strap dress on. And the waitress who gave me the shirt had her back revealed.

I have been coming to half shell for years for the good drinks and wings. I recently moved out of town i came back to memphis to visit and see the menu has changed with horrible prices and food ratio. A order of 12 party wings is 14.99 you guys cant be serious. I use to recommend half shell to lots of people to see these ridiculous changes i doubt if i will come back and definitely wont recommend it to anyone any more. The other food options are ok but very lack luster and the fries are never seasoned

My wife I arrived at 8:15 PM on a Monday evening had to wait at the front counter for a good while for a hostess to show up and seat us. I was a little concerned about the place at that point. Then everything changed. The server was on top of her game and the food was Great. The prices seem to be reasonable and the portions were generous. It was a very pleasant experience. A little far to drive from our home in north MS, but convenient when visiting the Baptist East Hospital area.

I absolutely love this place!! I have eaten here a lot over the past several years, and the food is excellent. To my surprise they have one of the best burgers I have ever put in my mouth. The grilled chicken is absolutely delicious, whether youre having it on a sandwich, or in a Cesar salad, you wont be disappointed! They also have a wonderful Lobster bisque. Bottom line, the food is always delicious!!

Although they could use better parking and the inside isnt very spacious the service and food is great! I had the shrimp eggrolls and they were fantastic! I dont remember what my specialty drink was but as a person who rarely drinks alcohol it was delicious! And our waitress was awesome! I live close to many restaurants in the Cordova and Germantown area but I look forward to going to Half Shell again.

Food was okay (just that) but at the end of our meal a waitress dropped a remoulade sauce and it splattered all over my husband and me. The manager came by, gave us 2 dish rags and departed. We left paying a full tab with nothing comped and a very bad taste in our mouths with the whole experience. Manager was unapologetic at the door, and then we drove home smelly like spicy remoulade.

The food was good. However, the customer service was awful. The waitress Bryan was horrible. He served me water with a dead fly in it and did not have the common courtesy to apologise. He took the glass to the back never to return. He started waiting on a nother table and we had to wait forever for our check. He was unacceptable.

We arrived on a Sunday night after a disappointing experience at the Butcher restaurant. Its was packed! But the service was AMAZING and so was the food!! It tastes fresh and seasoned to perfection..But the portions were small for the price..$80 for 2 drinks and 1 appetizer and 2 meals. Automatically ads gratuity to your check %15..

Amazing!!!! If you havent been here you better get here is all I can say. The customer service is great, we had the best waitress in town (Courtney), the food is absolutely !!DELICIOUS!! and the ambiance is very fitting (youll love it)! Ask to be seated in Courtneys area and I assure youll need for nothing and only enjoy yourself!

Went with my family while visiting Memphis. Expected more based on the reviews and it being voted best seafood. The food was reasonably priced but it was just okay. Definitely not a place I would recommend and the service left alot to be desired. Im sure there have to better seafood options in Memphis...at least I hope so.

Its like this.... The half shell has a long history with the city by now. I will always find myself there at least once every couple of years. But I never like the food. I mean, its ok and all but there are way better options around. The do sell the single serve proseccos tho - extra star for that!

I eat here every chance I get. It is my bistro of choice for my birthday, fathers day and anytime I deserve a treat. AK crab is heaven in a shell but dont stop there! Sample the entire menu and discover your own faves. Damn, now I gotta go tomorrow and get my crab on!

Delicious southern style seafood. The meals Ive had have been very flavorful and big portions. I typically do not like oysters, but liked their grilled oysters. The catfish is always delicious, huge salads. All around great restaurant.

The supposed to be waitress "Carol" was horrible showed zero concern for her paying customers checked her table maybe twice, the drinks lacked luster. And I frequent this place often but last nite was just awful! Tighten up!

Enjoyable. From wine to oysters to entrees, everything is perfectly priced for the quality. If you are looking for a regular spot for good seafood, this is your place. Service is great, atmosphere is comforting.

We had oysters, crab bisque, NY strip steak, burger and brownie ice cream desert. The oysters were OK, the NY steak and burger were good, the bisque was the best of them. The fries can use an update.
