Used to eat here all the time, but they have gone downhill. Do not waste your money on this crappy establishment!!! The food has absolutely no flavoring. Its like they dont know what seasoning is? I got nachos and there was hardly any meat it was just all lettuce. My friend ordered a quesadilla but upgraded her chicken to the fajita chicken. We were told it was just an upcharge. Turns out it doubled the cost of her meal.... Which last time I checked if it doubles the cost of a meal its not an upcharge its an entirely different dish. And they didnt even apologize for the miscommunication. Worst experience Ive ever had in a restaurant. And we will never waster our time and money here again.

ive been eating here since I was a kid and worked there for 8 years till they recently moved this is by far the best food in Knoxville in my opinion. Everyone has different tastes and most of the reviews ive seen are based on the taste of food so id just Like to point out that but everyone likes this place but does that require a 1 star because you didnt like the food I dont think so this place is awesome and no other Mexican restaurant compares to it in my opinion

Friendly staff, clean facility, mediocre food overall. The chile relleno was bland and mostly just cheese piled on a small pepper. The taco shell crumbled apart instantly. The shrimp fajitas were excellent and came piled high with filling that would have made an excellent meal without the tortillas and sides. Lunch service was pretty quick and staff were nice. About as good as Don Gallo or Soccer Taco; nothing special here.

They seem to be struggling a little bit. When we went there was only a server and another guy who was kinda helping. The food was ok. The salsa was good. The restaurant just wasnt what I expected. We went on Tuesday evening. I think that the restaurant location thats located at Bearden Hill is much better. Im a little worried about the longevity of this location. Seems that the owner is not focused here.

Ive eaten at the 10420 Kingston Pike El Charro location for many years. As a senior citizen price is important to me and I find I can eat a good meal for under $20.00 here. Today I became violently ill after eating and wasnt certain if Id be able to make it home. This has happened the last 2 times Ive eaten here and not certain what is causing it. Ill be going to Taco Bell from now on.

the worst Mexican food Ive ever had my life. Its like they took chicken or beef out of a crock pot and just threw it in a tortilla, no seasoning or anything. The salsa? So nasty. It was mostly water and wouldnt even stick to a chip. How in the world was this rated a great restaurant? I checked the ratings before I went... they were so far off that I will never trust ratings again.

Terrible. Worst service. Nobody in there and employees sitting around eating. It was 8:30 and didnt act like they wanted us to eat if we couldnt immediate order. We wanted to eat our chips and salsa first. Frozen Margarita wasnt frozen and glass was hot. We left and wont go back. This couldnt b the same management as was on Bearden Hill. This place is not going to last long

El Charro is a family-friendly restaurant, with good mexican food and a great customer service. They serve mole verde which is not very common in mexican places here in Knoxville. Me and my husband had a good time here. We ordered a burrito mojado, a tamal and a quesadilla. Everything was great, although the quesadilla w as a little salty for my taste.

My wife and I had to park down the street. There was a table available instantly; we sat for 10 minutes without being greeted, while two other parties which were seated after us were given water, chips and salsa, and orders taken. Several servers and the host made eye contact. No one cared. Not sure why that happened. Wont be back.

Its so nice to find their new location! The food was awesome as always. Absolutely excellent service. I usually get credit card emails confirming my tip amount when I visit. The prices seem to have gone up to compensate for the new location. Other than that, it was the same great experience! Definitely an LGBT friendly eatery.

El Charro used to be generous with their salsa when the were located on Kingston Pike. The new location on Sutherland Ave now serves 1 small bowl. If you want extra you have to pay $1.89 for each additional small bowl. El Charro once was my favorite restaurant. However, Im not into being nickel and dimed.

Wasnt half full at noon on a Tuesday . No one greeted you. You guess where to sit since no one came from the conversation they were having. The drinks are weak the was like frozen t v dinners and I wont be back. Go to taco bell its actually better.

Have come here for many years at other locations, and look forward to many years at the new one. The Juan and his family are great, and make you feel welcome at either location.

The best Mexican place in Knoxville, it has 2 other locations. They have the BEST chili relleno in k-town, no exageration. I like the music and decor too.
