I was employed at the Deli for about a week and a half. The owner seemed fun and professional. On my first day of employment one person ttied to talk to me about being un drug court. I just didnt know what to say to it. Another said another employee missed worked due to be pulled over with "something in the car" and was fined. The employee training me was not ringing up all ordered drinks, at the register, to make better tips or knocking items prices down by 50 cents. I was pressured to do the same and I felt it was not my place to give free items away nor change prices because I didnt own the business. At first the job was great but later it became very stressful as I didnt fit in and was ignored in social conversations and I made one single mistake, that was fixed by closing the sandwich on the grill and it was like it was the end of the world to the other employees. I even over heard two emplyees discussing that there were no available positions for another cashier but they "were sure they could arrange that"..to make an available position. I worked hard, showed up on time and learned quick but was fired with no reason given even when I asked for a reason. I signed a paper when I started statung I could be fired with no reason within the beginning 30 day work period. The food is GREAT. The owner is fun. The job is easy. Not a great place to work for due to not fitting in with the crew and work culture, thankfully.

This place is a must must go to. they have the most amazing food I will go in there and every single time they have different types of sandwiches different types everything honestly I sometimes feel like Im dying for their. pea salad it is that amazing this Valley is owned by a guy who moved here from New York and now the place is just atmosphere and amazing and I remember I took my son and there when he was a little bit smaller and his pinky and the guy said let me fix you a special sandwich and if you dont like it I promise you Ill make you anything you want. So the sandwich that he made was called Elana Ruz. This was grilled honey turkey with cream cheese and strawberry preserves Oran special type of bread and my son was very picky but he said okay and wow okay my son is 22 now he still gets to the same thing which city did when he was a kid he loves it it its amazing its addictive I dream about it at times the owner hes from New York is the atmosphere is amazing the prices are great the food I always get the rare roast beef with Boursin cheese . Great food, best deli in town, hands down. It does get a little crowded during the busy lunch hour, but its worth it. Theres a special each day, and only so much is made, so sometimes they run out (call ahead!). The website is updated daily (Tuesday meatloaf is A+). The owner/manager is fun and can sell you that whatever hes cooked up that day is worth getting. Hes a man who loves what he does. Prices are more than something like Subway, but youre getting a lot better food. Theres a lot of people working there and its pretty well managed, so it doesnt generally take very long to get the order. Parking definitely sucks, theres no way around that. Its a lunch-only place, except for Friday night meals, which are reservation-only and much more involved (though Ive never been).

Okay the food is amazing, but the napkin quality could best be described as toilet paper consistency - one ply at that. I understand that paper products are expensive, but you end up having to use 45 napkins to accomplish the same goal one or 2 decent ones would do. They are officially the worst napkins I have ever encountered. They must be recycled from one ply toilet paper because I can not for the life of me think that a company would actually manufacture a product of such horrendous quality. That said, I will be back! Like I said, amazing food.

Consisently Excellent! I have eaten here many, many times and the food is ALWAYS excellent. Bruce is just fantastic and its a sure thing if you order what he recommends...My particular favorite is the Elana Ruz...yummy turkey with strawberry jam and cream cheese on crusty bread and serverd kinda warm... and their egg salad rocks. This is a fantatstic little spot in Chattanooga. I cant let that last review stand without saying something...all the locals here know this IS one of the best place in town to eat.

Terrible food! The owner was giving free samples of stromboli away while you order. I took a piece and it was cold and horrible. Plus, the soda machine is self serve, but its located behind the cash register? Apparently you just go back there and fill a cup behind their register?! That doesnt seem safe to me. Plus they let homeless people in their and they drink for free!??? Very confusing, dank little spot. Never been back and dont recommend.

This place has the best sandwiches in town by far. Ive been to several different sandwich shops in Chattanooga, and this one is my favorite. Service is great and the food is amazing. The owner is very friendly and will recommend you something if you arent sure what to get. The sandwiches are unique and full of flavor, very delicious.

Exceptional deli sandwich shop. Delectable selection of deli meats and cheeses with multiple bread options. The sandwich portions are huge and the also offer soup and salad options to boot. The staff is friendly and their Dijon mustard is the best Ive ever had. Its so spicy and always makes my nose burn in a good way.

The best sandwich in town! Its a New York City sub shop with a southern twist right in our back yard. Seriously, if you havent been to River Street Deli you are missing out! Just fair warning, if the owner is working that day(he almost always is) Order whatever he tells you to get. You wont be disappointed.

River Street Deli -- owned by a bold New Yorker named Bruce who knows how to make a bangin sandwich. Ingredients are fresh and wholesome. Hes damned good at making a sandwich youll never forget. I love the roast beef with rosemary garlic aoli and the loaded baked potato soup! I go here every week.

Good sandwiches. Dining area can be cozy. Great location. Prices are reasonable. Probably what I would consider a Chattanooga staple. Its been years since Ive visited, but if the owner is taking orders, he might suggest a sandwich/meal. My advice, do what he says, you wont be let down.

A Taste of New York Right here in Chattanooga. Bruce is a delightful Host with his own style of Humor and a wonderful changing array of local art displayed on the walls. You want Great Deli Food. This is where you find it. Good service. Good Prices. Easy to get In and out for Lunch.

Fantastic sandwiches. The muffaletta and hot pastrami are simply delicious. They pile the meat on in true NYC style. My Dad and I came here for years and never ever had anything less than some of the tastiest sandwiches in town.
