Jakes Wayback Burgers is nearly identical to Five Guys Burgers & Fries, which is a great complement. The burgers are pretty big, and (like Five Guys) you can pick and choose exactly what condiments and toppings you want. The menu isnt organized quite as well as Five Guys, but its still rather easy to find what you want. Combos include either fries and onion rings and a drink or milkshake. The price is very decent, again in the range of Five Guys. Value for the quality of food is great. The burgers are great, not quite as good as Ikes Korner Grille (if youre local) but really good. Onion rings are crispy, but with a soft center. The fries are pretty standard, but not bad at all. The milkshake menu isnt quite as expansive as Cookout, but there are a good number of options and the Black & White as well as the Strawberry Banana milkshakes are of fantastic consistency and flavor (and served in tin cups, at that). Decor is very 50s burger joint style. Such a theme has become a bit more common than Id like, but Jakes Wayback pulls it off well. All the workers were really nice, and our order was out in only marginally more time than your standard fast food wait. Overall, I thought the experience was really good and I plan on going back soon.

Nothing but attitude from both the order taker and the lady who brought out the order when I requested to change what was coming on my burger. Was told they couldnt add the lettuce tomato and onions because "it was already made". Another girl rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a ranch dressing which was $0.54 for a tiny cup. Not to mention I was told I couldnt use the same name as the order in front of me even though we have the same last name(still at the same table but different tickets). The only good thing was the burger I swapped someone at my table for. Otherwise the entire experience was way more difficult than it should have been.

Service was efficient and the menu looked interesting. Burgers were small and very oily but tasted ok. The oil soaked into the bun which became soggy as you ate it. Definitely overpriced! Milkshake ordered was strawberry banana, but between the 3 of us who all tasted it, none of us could decide what it actually tasted like... just a VERY sweet mix of nesquick type flavoring which was nothing like we expected. I hoped for a real fruit milkshake like a Rudys and other diner style places. It wasnt blended properly so there were hard chunks of white "ice" not even ice cream. We ended up just throwing it in the trash after leaving.

This place is amazing! The burgers are great, the sides are great and the service is too. Pretty much the only interaction you have with the employees is while youre ordering and when they bring your food, but they are quick at their job! No matter how busy they are, they get your food to you quick, and it is delicious. Ive never tried their milkshakes, but plan to soon!

My favorite place for burgers and shakes on the westside. The restaurant is clean, and the wait is typical of freshly prepared food. Ive been disappointed with the onion rings - once they where gloopy and undercooked. To be fair, I had the order to go so I never approached staff about this afterward. They could have just been having an off day.

good burger joint, very consistent. I wish I were closer to visit this restaurant more often. My only complaint about food would be the pickles you guys use taste awful, like metallic or cheap. The other complaint is that the menu is too small, I cant read anything until Im right up at the counter.

This place is like a Five Guys restaurant. The food is fresh, hot, and well cooked. They have homemade chips. The hotdogs are delish, especially the Wayback dog. The chicken tenders are really good, too. The employees are friendly. The restaurant is spacious, and has a family-oriented atmosphere.

It was okay. The burger was tasty but not exceptional. If you want a great shake, go a quarter mile down the road to Brewsters, theyre better there. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here again, but it was better than a fast food place like McDonalds.

Great burgers!! Not a thousand choices -- but simple burgers prepared quickly and deliciously. ...tons of fries (is there such a thing as too many?!) ...and those milkshakes!! Place is kept tidy too. They do the business AND run a tight ship.
