I went to McHales on Friday the 19th with a group of friends. They were extremely busy because of the holiday season and Winthrop University graduation. While they were on a wait, the employees were honest with us about the wait time, which is hard to find in a corporate restaurant, much less a small family owned business. They really went out of their way updating us on table availability and changes in wait times. We went to the bar upstairs to wait and it was beautiful! The service was excellent and the White Christmas martini was amazing!! When we were seated, in a shorter time than originally estimated, the fabulous service continued. The waitstaff was quick and not overbearing, there when you needed them, but not constantly interrupting our meal. The food was delivered fast, hot and delicious. I, personally, had the corned beef and cabbage and it was amazing. The changes that they made and work they did while they were closed shows in the gorgeous remodeling, fabulous food and delightful staff. If you have not stopped in, do it as quickly as possible. You wont be disappointed!!

Bartender was great. While sitting at the bar for 2-3 hours my group watched the kitchen manager (a well dressed man in a tie) continue to eat food off of plates that were being sent out, at one point someone ordered a fish and chips to go then he found out is was wrong and tried to send it to me 30 minutes later. I sent it back because it was cold and they gave me another one. Then they brought me yet another order and when the bartender took it back it sat in the window for 30 minutes until someone else ordered another one. When the waitress picked it up to carry it out SHE PUT HER HANDS ALL OVER THE FISH IT MAKE SURE IT WAS STILL WARM!!!!!! ALL THE WHILE THE GUY IN THE TIE WAS STILL EATING STUFF OFF PEOPLES PLATES!!!! Oh yeah the DRINK MENU on the website IS A COMPLETE LIE THEY DONT HAVE EVEN HALF of the beer selection!!!!

We were from out of town and went to the disappointing establishment, we thought it would be great the only thing that was decent was our appetizer of Irish egg rolls, everything else was absolutely terrible the burger the chili the salad.. Gross!! The service was just plain bad the food sat in the window forever, we waited on our food for over 30 minutes.. Our server was the bartender she brought us our drinks and never came back to the table we had to actually get up and find her to give us our check and it took her 15 minutes to do that.. I work as a server and am pretty easily satiafied... But this first time visit was a huge let down I was so upset to actually pay for the "food" they served it was disgusting!! We will never go back and hope to save someone else the money and trouble of going there

I think that the food here is INCREDIBLE! The fish and chips here are to die for! Their pub chips are also the best Ive had from anywhere. The problem with this place? The service is TERRIBLE! I wouldnt recommend coming here if you have somewhere to be in an hour. My friends and I came on a saturday evening when it wasnt even remotely crowded. It took 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table! After that, my water was gone and I asked for a refill, she said shed be back in a second. I didnt see her for 30 minutes. Once i saw again, i asked for tartar sauce for my fish and chips. She didnt return until i was completely finished with my food! They would be perfect if they had a new system of taking orders...

Fish & Chips best item on the table during our dinner. Everything else was okay and expensive. $2.75 for draft Miller Light & $5.50 for other beers. 20% gratuity forced on our party of 6. I felt that was a bit ambitious. We were sat & 20 minutes later, loud speakers were being set up beside us for trivia. They have a neat second floor with couches, but they had closed that off. We showed up at 7:30pm. Potential was left on the table. Couldve had an exceptional time, but left wanting.

Went on a drive and ended up in rock hill starving. Found this place and we were very glad we did. Had the fish and chips and the fish was great, but the chips were a little salty. Daughter had corned beef and cabbage and it was excellent! Hubby had Ruben and again they excelled! Nice serving sizes for prices. Place was very clean which is always nice. Service was just ok from our server but other staff was very friendly. We will definatly go back if ever in the area again.

It was very good!! I was in town for the night and stopped here for dinner based on the reviews. I wasnt disappointed. The server recommended Ellies Brown Ale in place of my standard Newcastle. It was a great substitution, and I might go for it on its own one evening. I ordered the "Leprechaun Balls" for dinner, which were these cream/cheddar/jalepeno balls fried and served with ranch. So deadly good. If Im in town again, Ill stop here for sure!

Made a late afternoon stop, here, after an ultra hot day outside. I was ready for a good cold-beer experience. Draft beer was mildly cool and flat and the selection did not include many (any?) local brews. The menu is unique and promising, but execution was off-center. I would have rated two stars, but the at least the menu showed an attempt at creating a good experience. Disappointed and doubt I will return.

Decent food, some times the wait staff can be douche bags - especially if they have a table full of people they know. Once waited 25 minutes for our waiter to notice us calling him over because hed given us the wrong order. The whole time he was standing two tables across from us talking with, what I assume, were a group of his friends. We finally flagged down another waitress who got our order corrected.

Awful place!!! The food is awful and possibly tainted. The service is....I dont think what they do at McHales is called service. I will never, ever go to this place again. I found out they are hosting that robot propagandists on cable news, this just put the final nail in the coffin. Rock Hills nightlife sucks. Hopefully that riverwalk development will take off and McHales will be put out of business.

Food is ok but pricey. Kraft beer is nasty and expensive. Paid $ 20 for a pitcher of draft beer and no one at the table liked it. Tried some kraft peach lighter beer and it was worse. its a great place to socialize. You will pay $ 5 A BEER and food is nothing soecial. again good socializing. RENTED UPSTAIRS AND THEY ONLY SERVE THE NSDTY KRAFT BEER.

The service is awful. My boyfriend and I used to come here almost every weekend and recently every visit has been terrible. Tonight we sat at a table for almost 15 minutes and got ignored by every waitress/employee as they intentionally walked by our table. Wouldnt suggest it to anyone.

Had a lot of fun here. The staff was friendly and even conversing with the group of us. The food is great! Large selection of drinks. The fish and chips are to die for. Great place to kick back and chill with friends. Ill definitely be coming back on my next visit to SC
