Port Royal is a small town in South Carolina. It seemed at fist that the biggest draw to this town was the Marine Corp Base on Parris Island. In that, I was very wrong. Old School Pizzeria is a gem off the beaten path. Its a picture of quaint charm. The potted plants here and there surrounding the outdoor seating invites you to enjoy the air for a spell while the backdrop of ancient trees dripping with Spanish moss add a surreal beauty. The charm carries right inside the restaurant. Old School Pizzeria is small but the spaces is used well. It is very clean and well lit. The walls are decorated with cute Italian pictures and a few plants here and there. The staff is beyond accommodating. The smiles and kindness they offered were genuine. We ordered several pizzas and sat down to wait outside for them to be made. While sitting there, an employee came out to ask us if wed like her to include plates, silverware, and napkins. We thought that was really kind of them. On top of that, the owner, John, came up to us and asked us if wed like teas to take with us since we had to wait. He gave us five teas. The food itself was phenomenal. The pizza was perfectly done, the slices we cut through, and the toppings were generous. If I lived in this area, I would visit this place again and again. Two thumbs up and five stars for Old School Pizzeria.

Pizza is good, but slices are overpriced. When Im in NYC, Ill order 2 slices + a soda at Three Bros in Midtown or the East Village where they charge $2.75 total. I ordered the same thing at Old School Pizzeria and theyre charging $7.56, what???! Im new to the area, and maybe thats the norm for pizza in SC, but I kinda feel like I got ripped off. Even if I have a serious craving for pizza, I dont think I can rationalize paying more than $6 for 2 slices and a can of soda. It would be a different story if they were boardwalk slices, but these slices are small and thin. Despite my criticism, I still enjoyed the pizza, and the lady who served me was very nice. I dont know if she was too pleased when I asked why they charge $3 per slice, but it was an honest question. Maybe the pies are a better value, but I was just looking to get a quick lunch. I wouldnt discourage anyone from eating at OSP, and I may give them another chance if Im looking to order a pie. Im just more accustomed to stopping into a pizzeria for slices. So, while they do offer pretty decent pizza, I have to rule it out as an option for lunch unless they lower their price for individual slices.

The pizza here is absolutely delicious with the thin crust I love. Super fresh ingredients. Hours listed on this site are not the hours they keep ---not even close! Want pizza delivered for dinner? This is not your place. Dinner Saturday night? Nope. And they are not open on Sunday. At all. No one wants to show up to a restaurant and be disappointed. Personally, I think all businesses should be required to update their information on a periodic basis as a condition of the respective site that posts their reviews. Its accurate that they are no longer accepting credit cards, but there is an ATM at the entrance and another next door inside Parkers.

Mgt does not know how to run a business. Some of the best pizza I have had in this area and they have stopped the ability to take credit card. This is the year 2016, and people dont carry around cash as much as they used to. Debit works the same as cash. I wish that mgt would get there head out of their "you know what" and run a business the way it should. Seems like they dont want business.

No parking ,almost tripped on the way in , dust on all the walls and ceiling fans Id expext a little more of what appears to be a mom and pop shop. Being a business owner myself . How about a little more attention to details. I would not bring my wife and kids in here. Get it to go. Or do go at all . Wheres hungry howies when i need them.

Lovely pizzeria! Looks like NY moved into South Carolina. I ate there and for $5 I got a full slice of pizza (so big it must be folded or cut into pieces - slices of a slice, haha!) and a bottle of Coca-Cola. I will definitely be visiting once, maybe twice more.

They are never open (bankers hours) when we want pizza, Good Pizza if you can catch them open. Fortunately we have other options that offer more choices, as good if not better crust, and they deliver.

Pizza does not taste fresh. Owner (man) has stinky attitude. The lady is always nice but that is not reason enough to go back
