On 12/ 12 / 2016 : After this being the 2nd time Ive had customer service problems with Publix Grocery store I dont think those Commercials are as accurate as you think they are. The ones that make you want to shop at Publix. They show the Employees being so nice & helpful and going out their way to make you feel your appreciated. Well yesterday all that proved to be very false and made up and just a misleading commercial. I didnt think I would be treated as Rude as I was last year at this chain of grocery store. But One year and one day ( over on Harbison) was one of my worst days I had ever had at a Grocery store the Management in the Bakery was so horrible to me about my daughters Birthday cake I had ordered, but was decorated wrong . ( he didnt want to be bothered because he was visiting with a friend) so he was already irritated by having to pull his self away. Got in to a shouting match ( very unprofessional) would not fix it and just told me to leave & take the cake . On top of that after we got home our daughter had food poisoning and spent the night in the emergency room. What a horrible Birthday for our only living daughter. We lost our outher daughter in a horrible car accident. Well I never thought I would go into another Publix ever again. But do to my husbands medication being called in to the Pharmacy to the Publix on Gervais Street . In the Vista. ( ( Columbia Sc) I went last month and picked up the medication and decided to shop for dinner . This store was about to change my mind ( or so I thought) This went well . So when I had to go this month to get his refill I agree with my self to try to shop for dinner again. ( 12- 13- 16) All was good until I get to the check out . At first as I pulled up I realized that I forgot soda. So I took my self & cart and went to get some. I went back to the same checker and started putting my groceries on the counter . As I was doing this a man came up behind me & asked where was the wine cork screws were at (?) As they told him where to find it , instead of him taking his cart and leaving ..... he left & his cart stayed ( rude) I did notice her line having some people. She should of asked him to take his cart. ( who does that ? Leave the cart as you shop for more groceries?) BUT I minded my own , as the checker came to the Barb- b- q- sauce I told her that I thought they were ( buy one - get one) she sent her bagger to look . He totaled up my groceries and tried to give me the recite and told me to go get in the customer counter line . I ask her why (?) I said Im here now and Im her customer and she is still waiting on the price check . She said = well I have a long line of customers . Just then the cork screw person came back . I was in shock that I was asked to leave but this man who went shopping while he left his cart was thinking he did ok .(?) The bagger told her it was free with a coupon. And then I told her to ring it up because I was Not going to customers service line. I asked her - her name and she corrected me in a nasty tone . ( I know she was pist off at me for me asking her to double bag the glass she stuffed in one bag. ) Way to heavy and too much ) then I noticed that the bagger had put my bread with a big onion and the delicate light bulb in the same bag and instead of putting it in the seat of the buggy he put it where the bread was going to get smashed and the light bulb broke. Not good practice if you ask me. By then the man who left his cart acted like I was making him wait unnecessary. But in reality it was the Checker . Why would she think it was OK to ask me to take my groceries and goto the customer service representatives? I paid my bill and ask her her name and went to speak with the Management. I told him what happened and HE looked puzzled when I told him what she wanted me to do . He said its not done that way - Im sorry : I pointed out my almost smashed bread and light bulb. He did offer to walk me out by then I just wanted out . Her name is Maya, by the way : and it was pm.

I placed an order for my son birthday cake which was 12piece cupcakes with a Thomas theme for 24.99 which also came with the 2 train, a bridge, a coal push cart, and a plastic happy birthday sign in a sealed bag. When I went to pick up the cake they did not bother to put the toys on top or arrange it to where at least 1 train can fit Or they could have called me back to reassure me that the 12 count cupcake will not fit all the topping toy and made any suggestions to add cupcakes or make it on a sheet cake. If I had know the toping toy would have not fit I would have just ordered a 25 piece cupcake or a sheet cake. The baker should have know it wouldnt fit if she has been making the same kind of cakes theme for many other customers. Adding that, when I try to place an order for velvet cupcake and cream cheese on top the lady said they couldnt do it and my choices of cupcake was chocolate and vanilla with buttercream and not whipped. Yes, I had to buy the cake because it was a special order cake theme for my child and could not get another one that day to be made. I had ordered several birthday cupcakes with red velvet and cream cheese with no problem from others stores. Maybe my profile didnt fit in with their or they just got some really bad customer service. I thought I give this place a try I did and I will never go back to this Publix store and have shared my stories to friend. I will stick to BI LO at least they got awesome customer service!!

Its a Publix, so great service and quality food is a given. Its located in the Vista so its all brick and lovely to look at. The biggest problem with this Publix is its location. It is small and has poor parking. The parking lot is small and difficult to get in and out of. And the store itself it small and doesnt have the widest selection of goods. For example, they dont have the coconut milk I like simply because there arent enough shelves. Same with the produce - not enough selection because of physical limitations. It is however, the closest Publix to USC Campus and it is nice, clean, and very safe. I recommend coming here over other, less safe locations. Also, FYI this is the original printing press for the Confederates when SC started the Civil War. Interesting historic site, but a small and cramped, but very nice and safe Publix.
